napoleon i on his imperial throne

Unlike Achenar’s more meager accommodations down the hall, Sirrus has several paintings up on the walls of his Mechanical Age quarters. These would’ve been copies of the original paintings- the authentic canvases ranged from 6 to 8 feet tall, and Ingres’ portrait of Napoleon definitely didn’t have Sirrus’ face superimposed on it.

With the exception of the anachronistic portrait of Madame Moitessier (painted in the 1840’s), these paintings would have been extremely au courant in 1806 when Myst purportedly takes place.
