our starry night as pseudo coffee connoisseurs

the rush of the city is like caffeine for my body, and the sleeplessness aches my mind until i see stars in the dark, polluted sky. there is a humming sound that comes with the quickening of the heartbeat, and the drug quickly infiltrates ever nerve until my eyes are wide open, taking in the bizarre hyperactive streets with a painful and illuminating sensitivity.

i’ve spent my entire life yearning to be outside of my skin, and once i got there, i wanted nothing more than to sleep in the comforts of normalcy.
