Honestly guys don't ever let anything before majors (or even local feis) come between you. If you can push through it, do it I promise it's worth it! I'm at the point with dancing where I am literally in the studio 7 days a week for at least 3 hours and I come home trenched in sweat and blisters. This nationals was a long time coming for me. I recalled my first nationals at 7, didn't recall for 6 YEARS after, missed one year because of my surgery, came back got 24th, last year got 15th and this year.. 3rd! Two weeks ago I was at a point where I didn't even know if I could do nationals because my groin is pulled, I have a bone sticking out on my foot and my toe is broken. Somehow you push through everything if you love it this much and it definately pays off!!
Montreal you were awesome… oh my goodness! So blessed to have this opportunity! We didn’t recall but that’s alright! We got to dance on the NAN’s stage!
One of the my teammates came off the stage in tears. She hadn’t danced or competed in 5 years and was thrown into 8 hand because we didn’t have enough dancers for 2 full teams. She said through the tears “I’m so happy! I’ve missed dancing and competing so much! It feels so good!"
This is why we dance.
I’m so happy that I got to dance for my first time on that nationals stage with 7 others and not just by myself!
Hopefully I get another chance to go again! For solos this time!
IMPORTANT FOR ALL DANCERS TRAVELING INTERNATIONALLY FOR NANS
If you are worried about your data plan because you are traveling internationally, get the app Viber! It is a free (I’m pretty sure unlimited) talk and text app. It works over wifi and it is good for international communication. Another thing you can do to make sure you don’t get charged for using your data plan is to turn off your cellular data.
