my terrible advice

Stop falling for people you perfectly know are unavailable (emotionally, physically, etc) in the first place, and get over those hopeless crushes. You can’t keep grieving a love you never shared, what you grieve is the idea of a relationship. A concept. So toss that nasty conceptual shit in the toilets, buy a cake, wear fuzzy dinosaur socks, and you’ll be fine in life. Well there is still taxes and global warming, but mostly you’ll be fine.

“Don’t have a best friend that’s a girl” — this was the advice from my older cousin. I didn’t take it. Because he followed with, “friends don’t f*ck friends. And you’ll want to f*ck her.”

It was terrible advice. My cousin should’ve told me that being best friends with Baylee Wright — since she was twelve — would be the best and worst decision of my life.

He should have told me to protect her from what was coming. He should have told me that when a darkness crawled towards us, there’d be no safety net.

Now I’ve signed back on to the same Vegas acrobatic show as Baylee, working together for the first time in years. And she tells me that she’s having trouble in a certain “area” of her life — because of our past.

“You can help me fix it,” she says. And then she hands me a list.

How do hockey players make me feel like a thirsty sidechick and proud mother at the same time?¿? HOW DO THEY DO THAT??

I’ve been on a roll lately.  A belated Eugene in his April Fools’ Day outfit for @jfgoofy.  Then a Helga in some sort of odd style.  Uh, the bottom pic as me ushering Arnold onward.  Teen Helga looking sad.  Toph Bei Fong???? Me being me.  Helga getting her hair pulled by an unseen villain.  Helga giving her son Phil (my OC) terrible advice.  And then a cute Helga on a coat to wrap it all up.

In other news, Craig Bartlett shared one of my pics on his instagram, which was really cool so I finally caved and got my own instagram.

yo so I'm entp and I like an intj and it's p swell we mostly just start arguing about the science behind whatever one of our friends says randomly and we draw penises on ppl u know the usual but ahh I seriously can't tell if they liek me back or not I mean they make it a point to talk to me soo I mean but idk

Go for it, anon!! I doubt they’ll have any hard feelings if you do. Anyway, I think it’s best to ask before it’s too late. I’d say ask them to dinner or something…or…

What I would do: Take them to a grocery store….race them to the canned food aisle, pick up some Cambell’s and say “Hey, it would be ‘Soup’er awesome if you went out with me. But if not, that’s totes okay.” (+10 points if you bring a tote bag. +20 if you bring multiple tote bags).

Lol. (U can see why I can’t get a date). Good luck!!

First day of the new Crush At Home has been crushed 💪🏼

I skipped the cardio circuit because 1) I have no cardio machine and five minutes of jump rope just sounds tedious af, and 2) After the Crush workout, I went for an hour long hike/trail run with my friend, and then did 10 sets of weighted sprints (side note: love this whole “tumblr lets you make gifs now” thing).
So I think it’s safe to say I got in my cardio for the day.

could you please do a tutorial of your colouring process,step-by-step? i love the way how you do it!

ahh thank you! i’m glad you do!

there are two ways that i usually colour - one is the super-lazy way with the blocky colours and the other is my paint-y style, and im guessing that you want me to show you the process for the lazy way cause that’s what i use the most often?? (let me know if you’d rather see the other way)

i do just wanna say though that this method of colouring is very very lazy and also ignores some pretty important principles of art like lighting and shading etc, so please dont take this tutorial for gospel and choose to only follow this way, cause it’ll probably do more damage than good (it has done for me hAH).

anyway! here is my process:

start with a lineart of some sort. it doesn’t have to be neat.

i like to use the stumpy pencil tool!

hello karkat you are looking bishie today (hahah every picture of karkat i draw looks exactly the same omg)

next up just add blocky colours all on one layer below the lineart. fuck neatness

also once that’s done i like to colour the lineart. i add a layer above the lines then clip it to the layer below (ctrl+alt+G) (like so))

i like to make the lines more saturated around the cheeks/ears/nose

after that i merge everything onto one layer. i know working on only one layer can be a scary concept to many people (it certainly was for me!), but imo it makes things a lot easier!

after that just keep adding more details until satisfied

shading is cool. i don’t usually bother with it other than really simple shadows under the chin and a few shiny highlights in the hair

and finally if necessary just add some adjustments/effects!

(i usually go for a large, soft brush at a low opacity on overlay mode, and sometimes colour balance (ctrl+B))

the whole process takes me about 30-40mins.

anyway i hope that is helpful to you and please remember not to take my advice too seriously! ★~(◠ω◕✿)

Oh it’s p simple actually! First you have to think about what animations/emotions you want to do, like smiling/talking/angry/laughing etc, and then you sketch out the frames

I drew them all out onto one canvas (also I changed the last one, because I preferred the eyebrow waggle hahah)

then you copy each one onto a new canvas and use the pencil tool to draw them out and colour them as you desire, so the still frames look something like this:

and then save them all! I organised mine by the type, because it makes it an awful lot easier

once they’re all done you just put the frames from each one into a gif program (I use easy gif animator ‘cause its easy, hah) and voila!

 hope that’s helpful!

EDIT: if you’re using photoshop it’s actually a lot quicker to animate it with that! then you don’t have to bother saving each frame seperately. uvu

astreodea  asked:

Mind if I ask you how you do your lineart? ^^'

well sure! i don’t really have an exact method that I stick to all the time, but one thing i do like to do a lot is vary the colour of my lines. you can do that either by locking the layer and then colouring it, or by creating a new layer above the lineart, clipping it to the below layer (ctrl+alt+g), and colouring on that. gomen i am awful at explaining! but here:

(although thats just a personal style choice you dont have to do it)

and as far as brushes are concerned these are the ones i use the most:

you can download the stumpy pencil here

and the ballpoint pen is the first in this set

(my fave is the stumpy pencil tho it’s a really great brush)

anyway that was probably a completely useless explanation but i hope it helps a little?? orz

uralmoth  asked:

hi louise! ^^ I'd been hoping to catch you on skype, but might as well just ask on here instead.. I can't draw human eyes ugh, I wondered if you could help me?? do you have any advice on developing a good cartoony style for eyes? ;n; (and how are you? :p)

here you go sarah! ♥ sorry it took me a while to get to!

also i didnt read your message properly and theres no info about cartoonizing them but really you just have to simplify things down, and exaggerate a few bits. ahaha sorry im terrible at explaining stuff, but i find looking at other styles and working out which parts you like helps, and eventually you just sort of find what works for you! i think when it comes to my style it’s kind of an awkward mix of disney + anime + realism, hahaha.

also disclaimer pls dont follow my advice too closely because i am probably doing this all wrong

but regardless of that i hope this helps you out a bit!

(and im fine thanks, how about you? :U )

TWINKLE. I am SO FUSTRATED right now because I can't draw bloody crossed legs for a lady!! Could you like, do a rough sketch? since ur practicing anatomy or whatever. PLEASE. *rageflip*

eeeh okay I’ll try, but please don’t take it too seriously! Just use it as a super super rough guide or something, ‘cause my anatomy is all wrong and I don’t want to pass my bad habits onto other people. :“I

I hope that’s helpful to you <3

[EDIT: i’m a moron and drew the feet the wrong way round, so I fixed it crudely hahah]

anonymous asked:

Hi Twinkle! Err, I hope this isn't asking too much or anything, but I've just started using Photoshop and I'm having some trouble painting on there. Could you do a tutorial on how you paint using Photoshop? You don't have to or anything!! I hope you're having a wonderful day!

ahh!! hello anon

i dont wanna do a full-on tutorial cause i have a lot of bad/lazy habits that i don’t want to pass on but ill give u a lil pointer that really helped me!! its actually super simple and pretty obvious for many people, and its very embarrassing that it took me so long to figure out:

those of you who’ve known me for a while will know that i used to religiously use paint tool sai, and couldn’t do anything decent in photoshop. this is because sai has automatic blending settings, which i had unconsciously become very reliant on! so whenever i would try to paint with photoshop, which has no brush blending or a blending tool at all (u can get one by modifying the smudge tool but imho it looks horrible), my paintings were a weird mess of awkward edges and just really did not look good at all.

but then i discovered the colour picker! with the help of the colour picker you can blend like this:

seriously for me discovering this was like. a fucking epiphany

all of a sudden i was like OH SHIT I CAN USE PHOTOSHOP

anyway im kinda rambling, sorry i couldn’t be of much use but i hope this helps u just a lil bit?? maybe???
