I REALLY want to start a really aesthetic journal of sorts for all my doodles with that font (you know the one I’m talking about) and loads of different Washi tapes and it’ll be super pretty but right now I’m broke and I can’t afford a Moleskine so not until after my birthday at least.
When recording TBS, do any of actors flub their lines by accident? If so, would we be able to listen to the bloopers?
Oh yeah, absolutely. I am an extremely cruel director and make them do single takes of entire episodes (sometimes 25+ pages) and, while they are all very talented professionals, there’s bound to be some stumbling.
Putting together a blooper reel is something I’m kicking myself over not keeping track of at the start because now there is just hours upon hours of footage that I in no way shape or form have any time to listen through and pull clips from. Maybe someday we’ll hire someone to do that because there are some good moments.
One of my favorite bloopers from early on was in a Caleb episode. This was still in the first season, when I was trying to figure out the best way to record/take notes during recording/direct/etc. I now sit on my bed as the actors sit at a table in front of me and use 1-tap touch to highlight the script for notes, but back then I was trying a bunch of stuff out.
I didn’t want my note-taking to interfere with sound, so I sat out in the hallway with my headphones and left Julia and Briggon in my bedroom. So I’m sitting on the floor staring at a closed door, and Briggon and Julia are just on their own. Briggon gets to a line that went something like, “I had a rough day at school”, but instead of school, Briggon goes full-adult and says “work”. And even though I couldn’t see Briggon’s face, I could just hear him have that moment of, “wait, what”.
I don’t know why, but that was such a fun, funny moment - Briggon plays a teenager extremely convincingly, but he definitely slips up sometimes.
I have sooo many things on my ‘to draw’ list, including requests that have been filling up my inbox like crazy. Other than commissions (which are priority) I’m gonna try do some more Nora universe, like the crystal gems and fusions. Also:
I walked over to the bartender. I was so excited it was hard to control my face. Cool it Mer. Cool it. Soon, soon she’ll be gone. I was giggling so much, the bartender gave me a face. I was so happy I didn’t even give a shit. Of course I promised that bitch her bullshit request, she wasn’t going to be around for much longer.
I grabbed the drinks and saw Charlie moving our stuff to another table. Perfect distraction; I ran into the bathroom.
Ok so i don’t Know if Klance will be canon, but I’m going need to get this out of my system regardless, because their characters are so crucial to one another. So buckle tf up i guess. (Warning: hella long)
Lance and Keith both need to mature a little. Not to completely change their personalities, but maybe so that like… Keith stops getting his ass handed to him in one (1) man showdowns against intergalactic dictators, and Lance stops picking fights with teammates and gains some true self confidence.
The thing is that Keith and Lance can prompt each other to grow. They’re such obvious character foils. There’s the glaringly obvious binary opposites of red and blue, fire and ice, but it goes beyond colour/element symbolism. Right down to their characterizations they clash; hot headedness vs staying (somewhat) cool under pressure, mr perfect vs raging insecurity, shack-hermit vs social butterfly. Same with their backstories: orphan vs large family, desert vs sea town… I’ll try not to go on and on lol, because i definitely could
They quite literally butt heads, but they learn through their differences. Keith (unknowingly) motivated Lance to work his hardest in the Garrison, and, as like pretty much everyone has pointed out, Lance calls Keith out on his rash decisions. And of course, there’s the ever-iconic “we make a good team” to sum it all up.
I’m just so excited to see them bettered by their differences. Especially now that Shiro’s gone, Keith’s going to be so alone and have so much responsibility to shoulder, and Lance is gonna have to confront his feelings of inferiority with Keith in the official leadership position. I hope they always tease and bicker because i love that shit, but i want to see them trust and admire one another more openly. To rely on and support each other - not just in monologues to Yuppers or on the brink of death.
It’s just such a great writing opportunity for character development, and could fit so perfectly into show’s narrative of maturing to shoulder this immense burden of protecting the universe, of becoming not just a team but a family. And just….fuck like it could be so good… we could have it all….. come on
Welcome to another round of ‘Frenchy is sick of looking at this and needs to get it off of her Drive account’. Consider this the first of a small group of pieces under the same banner of “demi-canon”: things that had the potential of happening in the actual canon of Seven Cities lore, but may or may not actually play out this way.
Also, cause I really liked the dumb play on words.
4027 words, set pre-Seven Cities, before Alex and Tahir are really anything like friends. Menstruation very heavily implied/featured so a warning to those who need it.
If Alex had been given longer than two hours to ready herself for eight months at sea, she might have been prepared for this.
As it was, she had done rather well on her own. The forging of her own examination papers, the hurried sewing of extra padding into the crotch of her trousers, the only slightly illegal procuring of excess of wads of fabric and a thoroughly-cleaned sponge – all of it had worked long before Tahir had become privy to her situation and added an extra set of eyes on her back. For all of the hurrying she had done, Alex still considered it a rather brilliant ploy of playing the average pressed sailor.
Except that she hadn’t had the time to plan for pain.
It was a rare thing, but once every couple of months, Alex would wake with the telltale throb low in her gut, and crawl down into the first dark space that she could find to wait it out. On the street, that had been as simple as finding a dry, quiet piece of ground out of sight of the city guard; on a ship, there was neither a dry nor quiet piece of ground to be had, and her absence was always too easily noticed by the bosun’s wandering eyes.
And this morning, it felt remarkably like someone had a grip on her insides, and was determined to squeeze the life out of each one in turn.
She tucked herself further into the shade of the ship’s bulwark, forehead pressed against her knees, an emergency flask of water cradled hot and empty in her lap. A few minutes ago, she had pressed it to her lips, desperate to out coax another few drops. In a few more, she would try again. She had passed the last hour the same way, miserable and thirsty and lying to herself, and she certainly didn’t intend to break that cycle. Baseless routine was better than sitting around waiting for the pain to stop. She was fool enough to believe that, at least.
A shadow crossed over her as she reached for the flask again, blocking out the sun in a great stomping of boots that stopped inches away from her bare toes. Alex felt her lips draw into a scowl. Only a handful of men on board wore boots on deck, after all, and while she wouldn’t dare to sneer at an officer, none of them would stop to give her more than a passing glance.
alright so. im gonna assume this is the same anon? i think?
sorry guy, you kinda rambled there for a bit so im not too sure what you’re trying to say?
like you read the fanfic but the fanfic where they have sex is what squicks you out. okay so. don’t. read it?
but for that top one you bring something up that i want to address and that is NONE OF US ACTUALLY WANT SHIPBOYS TO HAPPEN
like. no. we don’t want griffin to leave his family or nick to leave his girlfriend? WE DON’T WANT THAT. I ESPECIALLY DON’T WANT THAT.
shipping isn’t “I want these two (or more) people to get together” its, “this relationship is interesting to me and i want to explore it”
thats what shipping has ALWAYS been. only recently has it become this bizarre ship war/anti hate mongering bullshit that has been brought on by a much younger crowd.
if someone harrasses them and says hey ditch your life and love for what i want, they aren’t a fan, they’re a stalker. a broken person who needs help. when i was in the rt fandom, we had those. we called them out. the rpf fandom were the first to leap up and shoot down the harassers in the community.
i know that when people think rps/rpf, they think of phandom and the 1d shippers who harassed and bullied and threatened anyone who they thought was a threat but hey guess what? in those communities, there is a large, almost majority of people who shot those people down.
don’t accuse us of being fucking homewreckers. there is no reality in which we would truly want them to be unhappy. this is for us. we don’t show them, we don’t tell them anything. we keep it to ourselves because we’re polite and we know that there is a boundary between fandom and content.
