Alright, I’ve calmed down a bit so let me just say: it is not my job or my responsibility to ensure that minors and survivors on tumblr are monitored or “kept safe” within fandoms. It is not my job or my responsibility to make sure that they are not exposed to stuff that could potentially be disturbing or upsetting
Does that mean I won’t tag stuff? Absolutely not. You ask nicely and hell yes, I will do my best to tag whatever you need me to. I might forget sometimes but trust me, 9/10, I am going to tag the thing. Does that mean I am going to restrain myself from writing or shipping stuff that somebody might find upsetting?
When you sign onto this website, there is one thing you are always doing: taking the risk that you might be exposed to something that makes you uncomfortable, that scares you or whatever. And when that happens, you know who’s responsibility it is to ensure you’re not exposed to that kind of stuff again?
Your’s. It is no one else’s. It is not the person’s who made the content that upset you. It is fucking your’s because you, and only you, have decided to enter into this space and guess what? The one safe space that is yours is your dash, that’s it. Everything else does not belong to you, it is not your safe space. That is something that you have to make. Don’t like something? Something upset you? There are two lovely little features called unfollowing and blocking. Do that, and WOW! You don’t have to see that stuff again! Amazing!
You have to take the initiative to make your own safe space and if you can’t do that, then maybe you shouldn’t be on Tumblr. I will aide you in making your dash safer by tagging stuff but I am not going to alter what I like or what I create just because you are made uncomfortable by it (especially when its a ship of fictional fucking characters).
So, tl:dr, learn how to moderate what you consume and know that no one else but you is responsible for creating a safe space on this platform
