Imagine waking up next to Stephen after spending a night with him

The memories of last night started buzzing in your head as soon as you opened your eyes. The soft music ringing trough the air, the moonlight kissing the room and both of your bodies, the lingering scent of his skin and his signature perfume. You lips still felt swollen from his breathtaking kisses that left you feeling thunderstruck. Heaven was something you could touch and hold and kiss, it was living and breating; it was him, for he was your personal heaven.
The satin bed sheets felt soft against your skin. You were safely tucked away in his arms that were giving you the skin contact that you craved so much. You were at peace untill you heard the rang of his raspy morning voice that sent pleasant chills down your whole body. -“ Good morning, my love. ” - he said whilst gripping you tighter and placing a sweet kiss onto your cheek.

1 year later…

The view from your new house is incredible. You and Bucky had been house hunting for months, your small apartment just not cutting it for James’ rambunctious spirit. When you’d both finally found the one, you both knew. There’s a huge bay window off the dining room that faces the front yard, where you are watching James currently play in the sunshine. A smile is always plastered over his handsome face now, ever since Bucky came back into your picture. He’s more active, he talks more, and you swear he gets more intelligent every single day. James is a spitting image of his father, and seeing them together makes your heart swell.

“You can just put it there. That’s good!” You pointed to a corner of the room as the two movers set down the last of your boxes.

“Looks like that’s everything.” The supervisor of the moving team walks over to you, checking off the last items off his checklist, “Would you like to check everything to make sure it’s all in good condition from the move?”

You look around the cluttered space of your new apartment. Boxes, wrapped up furniture, and just mess surrounding you.

“Nah. It’s fine. I trust you guys.” You say with a shrug and then an appreciative smile. “Thank you for all your help.”

“It’s not a problem, miss.” The man tipped his baseball cap at you before heading out the front door after his crew, “Have a good day and congratulations on the move.”

The door shut closed behind him and just like that you were finally alone. You took a deep breath and let it out as your eyes scanned the things around you.

“Why do I have so much crap…” You complained, but even that wasn’t enough to ruin your mood. You were finally here. In your dream apartment. Living your life they way you wanted.

With that encouraging thought in mind, you excitedly started to unpack.

"Imagine Sam giving you a bunch of flowers."

Anonymous as requested. || imagine

A gentle rapping on your door halts the first bite of your rich and tenderly laid out lunch.

“Just a moment!” You call, jumping to your feet and placing your handkerchief on the table beside your plate. You smooth out the ruffles in your skirt as you wonder if you’ve somehow forgotten something. You pop down the hall of your hobbit hole, and you swing the door open.

You pop down the hall of your hobbit hole, and you swing the door open. There stands your neighbor, Samwise Gamgee.

“Well good morning Samwise! What a pleasant surprise!”

“Good morning my lady,” he says with a charming smile. His warm and tender eyes melt into yours. “I was just out picking some flowers in my garden, and I thought you might like some.” From behind his back he pulls a large bundle of tiny purple flowers.

“Oh Samwise!” You cry, taking them tenderly from his hands. You lay your hand atop of his as you take them, and you can’t help the blush that rushes to your cheeks. “These are lovely,” you say. “Thank you.”

“You’re very welcome,” Sam says with a sweet smile. Your eyes meet again, and you know you could stare at those eyes all day.

“I was just about to have lunch,” you say. “Would you like to come in?”

A look of surprise jumps across his face, but he doesn’t falter. “That would be lovely.”

“Great,” you say. “Come on in.”

Chapter 1

Robyn POV:

I looked in my rearview mirror and finished applying my MAC lipstick. I fidgeted with my long black curls for a while and turned my engine off and stepped out of my new white BMW. I walked to the stairs of New Hope Church of Christ and took a deep breath.

My stomach was doing summersaults and my palms were sweaty. Here it is, another Sunday morning, which means another day I have to put on a façade and face his family. Smile in his wife’s face knowing what I’m doing with her husband and laugh with his children knowing I’m tearing their family apart. I feel so disgusted with myself and my actions, but for some reason I can’t stop myself from engaging in this sinful act with Pastor Brown.

“Sister Fenty are you ok?” Ms. Barbara, a church mother, said touching my shoulder and snapping me out of my thoughts. I love this woman. She was my grandmother’s best friend and is like a second grandmother to me.

“Yes mam I’m fine”

“Are you sure baby? You look unpleasantly pale and like you’re about to pass out. Wait here sugar while I go get you some water.”

“No, that’s fine. I’m just getting over a cold, but I’m ok I promise.” I said giving her a faint smile.

“Ok well see you inside” she said entering the glass church doors.

I took another deep breath, fixed my skirt, and walked up the stairs and into the church. I sat in my normal spot, the middle row, where I’m not too close or far from the pulpit. I was a little early this morning so I decided to text my friend Mel and ask her where she was.

Me: “Hey girl where are you?”

Mel: “I’m not coming this Sunday, I’m sorry boo” she replied and I sighed.

Mel is the only person close to me that knows about Christopher and I and she helps me get through these Sundays without having an anxiety attack.

Me: “Ok I’ll talk to you after church.  Love you.” I texted back and placed my iPhone in my clutch purse.

“Hi Ms. Robyn you look so pretty today.” Skai, Christopher’s daughter, came up to me and said. She is adorable and looks just like her mother.

“Why thank you cutie. You look beautiful as well. Is this a new dress?”  I said and she sat on my lap.

“Yes it is. Me and my mommy bought it yesterday and the matching shoes. Look!!!” she said with so much enthusiasm, pointing at her tiny feet.

“Those are really nice. You think I can find some in my size?” I said making her laugh.

“No these are for kids. I like your shirt and guess what my big brother will like it too”

“And why is that missy?”

“Because he has a crush on you” she said smiling.

“Stop lying Skai before I tell mom and dad. I promise Ms. Robyn it’s not true” Jaden, Christopher’s son, said as his face was turning red from embarrassment.

“Uh huh it is true. I heard you talking to your friend and you said-“before Skai could finish Jaden covered her mouth and picked her up from my lap, but that didn’t stop her because she was still talking. All I could do was laugh.

“Why are y'all over here bothering Sister Fenty?” the woman I dreaded coming in contact with said as she approached us.

“They’re no bother Sister Brown. I love talking to little Skai” I said and Skai smiled wide.

“You say that now, but have her for a couple of hours and you’ll change your mind.” She stated while laughing. “You two go bother your father while I talk to Sister Fenty” she said sitting next to me.

“How awkward is this” I thought to myself, but more so what does she want to talk to me about. My heart beat sped up as she turned her body to face my direction and stared me in my eyes. Jesus help me now and please don’t let this be about what I think it’s about, because this is definitely not the place to have such an unsuitable discussion as that one.

“So how are you doing?” she asked me.

“I’m doing ok” I said looking down. There is no way I can look her directly in her eyes.

“Well I know in a couple of days it will be one year since your grandmother passed away and I know y’all were very close.”

“Yes she was my everything” I said on the verge of tears. I assumed Kelly could sense that, because she placed her hand on my shoulder and I unintentionally tensed up.

See my grandmother died almost a year ago and I guess you can say that’s how Christopher and I became involved. We were only friends at first but things drastically changed when one night he was consoling me because I was having yet another emotional breakdown; then one thing lead to another and it just continued from there. Now I’m in love with this man.

“I know this is hard for you, but just know that Pastor Brown and I are here for you. If you ever need to talk or anything please don’t hesitate to come to us, ok?” she said hugging me tightly.

“Thank you so much” I said forcing myself to wrap my arms around her. This is not right at all.

“No problem sweetheart” she replied pulling back from our embrace.

“I better be getting to my seat, service will be starting soon. I’ll talk to you later.” She said and walked away.

Truthfully, this woman has always been nothing short of nice to me and I betray her by “dating” her husband.  I feel like an awful person but I guess I’m just a fool in love.

Chris POV:

I look around the church office and say a silent prayer. Lord knows this Sunday will be a battle. For months now I’ve been lying to my congregation about the pastor and man I am. Robyn and I had a strictly platonic friendship which shortly blossomed into a romance. I never intended to fall in love with this beautiful woman.

I fixed my Tom Ford tie and swallowed my quenchable Welch’s Apple Juice. I gulped harshly while hoping this beverage could take away my sorrow. I politely toss the empty bottle in the trash and proceed to my rightful place. I exchanged pleasant hellos and hugs with my sisters and brothers in Christ.

“Good morning pastor. God bless you” one of the church members said.

“Thank you all for putting up with my big mouth another Sunday” I jokingly stated and walked to my chair.

“Good Morning Saints” I danced to the music softly playing in the background. Praise and Worship is near closing and regular service will begin.

My eyes scanned the nearly crowded church and I lock eyes with her. I turned my attention to my family and my children are engaging in conversation with my wife. I watch attentively as smiles formed on their mouth as if they’re having the time of their young lives.

I look back to my lover and I give her a weak smile, not trying to blow our covers. Robyn glared at me coldly and my heart stung. I can only imagine how hard this could possibly be for her. My throat is lumpy and my chest started to burn. I fan myself and calmly pat the sweat exuding from my forehead.

“Will the congregation please be seated and join me in introducing Pastor Brown” On lookers scurried to their seats and stood in admiration while Mijo introduced me.

“Praise the Lord…Good Morning Pastor…Ain’t God Good?” The members warmly welcomed me and shouted praises.

“You may be seated family. Thank you for all coming out today to give God praise. This morning I want to talk about the power of love saints”

“Love is a wonderful feeling; it can come from friends, neighbors, or family. God so loved the world he gave us His only son, if that wasn’t love I don’t know what is. Mary approached Joseph saying she was expecting but they had yet to know each other in that way, he didn’t hesitant or inquire, he loved her”

“We all want love and truly deserve happiness. Love isn’t secrecy, love is being proud to be who you are but keep in mind you can’t truly love if you don’t love yourself whole heartedly. God is love, your outside relationships are truly based on the relationship you have with Jehovah, He provided the true foundation.”

"Amen Pastor you better say that!!!” a member yelled.

“Love can also be tricky, devious, and deceitful. It will have you doing things out of the ordinary but to your heart it’s all worth it, falling victim to flesh and backsliding. We must have faith and ask God to guide us, show our minds how to decipher the different states of love. I know how complicated love can get but don’t fear it, run towards it. With the right mate by your side anything is possible and you can make it through each trial.”

"That’s right baby” The church cooed and awed as my wife shouted out. I looked at Robyn from the side of my pupils. My statement was strictly for her.

She lowered her head in shame. I want her to know we can make it and come out on top in the end.

“Church I’m going to leave you on this note. God passes no judgment, if you want something go after it, love whole heartedly, live as Christ and have faith and everything will be fine.”

The church stood up and cheered as I exited the pulpit.

"Great Sermon lover boy, you make me fall in love with you more every day.” I kiss Kelly’s cheek and our beautiful offspring raced to me.

"Daddy, daddy you did so well”

“Thanks baby girl”

“Can we go home now? Dang all we do is go to church” Our son Jaden can be a handful. He’s 14 going on 24.

“Son behave before I have to rough you up.”

"Daddy Jay Jay has a girlfriend. It’s that pretty lady Ms. Robyn” My daughter squealed.

“Shut up Skai you talk too much. I just think she is very gorgeous dad nothing serious”

"She is amazingly beautiful and she has a pleasant spirit, isn’t she beautiful Christopher?” My wife inquired.

I looked at my family awaiting my answer and my throat felt numb.

"She aight I guess”

“Dad you’re buggin’ she is more than aight.” I playfully placed Jaden in a head lock and spun him around, if only he knew how beautiful she truly is inside and out.

I escorted my family to the car securing their safety.

“Babe I wish you didn’t have to work these crazy hours”

“I know Kellz it’s frustrating sometimes but we will manage. I love you guys.”

I waved and watched as my wife’s’ Range Rover disappeared into thin air, and Robz was walking out of church with her head down.

"Sister Fenty may I have a word with you” She walked towards me slowly watching her surroundings.

“Great service today Pastor” she said aloud.

She came closer and the scent of her perfume drove me wild.

“Baby I love you and I wish I could kiss you right now” I whispered.

“How dare you? Don’t be a sack of shit Christopher we are standing on church grounds” We both spoke lowly and from afar the conversation would look harmless.

“We’re standing on church grounds but you just cursed or nah?“ I joked with her and she struts off in a fury.

She knows I can’t chase her or make a scene but I’ll make sure she pays for this stunt later on tonight.
