Phil stood on his tiptoes, trying to see through a mass of people. He groaned, he hadn’t seen his boyfriend in a week…the least the people could do is let him actually see his boyfriend. He supposed he was being too harsh and impatient it’s just, their London flat has grown lonely and desolate without Dan’s presence.
Phil had enjoyed the first day of peace and quiet but only a few hours of it, as his heart longed to walk into Dan’s room, sit on his bed and scroll through tumblr for hours with the boy. Yet, Dan’s room was an empty cavern.
“I heard the plane was delayed,” he heard a couple people murmur around him and Phil’s heart sank. Even more time away from his Dan? No thank you. The people began to disperse, finding a comfortable (or as comfortable you can get at an airport) place to sit for who knows how long until the plane carrying their loved ones arrived.
Phil sat, back against a metal column near a outlet so he could plug in his phone. His legs were crossed and he was mindlessly browsing social media and taking advantage of the free wifi. Yet, one thought consumed his mind no matter what app he was on: I really want to see Dan.
Phil almost fell asleep waiting in the airport when a loud voice came booming over the speaker. “Flight 005 should be landing in five minutes.” Phil gasped excitedly and scurried to his feet. He raced to the front of the crowd. Passengers began to flood out of the gates and run to their friends and family. Phil tapped his foot anxiously.
He hadn’t seen Dan come out maybe he missed him or–
“Boo!” A voice whispered into his ear. Phil shirked, almost jumping up. He whispered around to see a boy (slightly more tanned than when he left for London) with a messy brown fringe and a mischievous grin.
Phil’s face split into a huge smile, despite his heart pounding from the jump scare.
Dan wrapped his arms around Phil’s body, never wanting to let go. It was only a week, but even that was too long to be away from Phil. He nuzzled his face into Phil’s shoulder and relished being in his boyfriend’s grasp once again.
