We’ll go from this:

For Bee’s birthday, which was over a month ago, based on her weirdly specific prompt, which I did not completely fill because there’s no hair fiddling. <3 thanks for challenging me <3

Headcanon! They’ve been traveling around Italy and in Florence they ask an elderly tourist to take their picture and she keeps changing positions to get it just right and give these nice young men a perfect memory of the Boboli Gardens and Stiles mutters through his frozen smile ‘get on with it already’ and “don’t look at the camera with your freaky eyes” and pokes Derek in the back with his knee and Derek laughs.

I usually do a pattern for these and take out frames that make it look awkward I use up to 5-6 frames in 0.15 - 0.20 sec speed

Sigiling Selfies: How to Anti-Taglock Pictures of Yourself

So @dontusemycauldron mentioned this to me at some point, and it took a few days for it to really sink in. They told me how some people put sigils on their photos to prevent people from using them as taglocks for things like cursing. And I went, “well holy shit, that is fucking clever,” and proceeded to do it with every single one of my selfies I’ve posted to Tumblr. Not because I’m concerned, but I like to put faith in preventative measures.

I decided I was going to show you guys how to do it - at least with SAI, because that’s the program I tend to use for art things now (and I can’t find a good crack of Photoshop anymore). However, any art or digital media program that makes use of layers and transparencies can be used for this technique.

First off, you want your sigils. I made two personal ones, and I also made two for Tumblr use. However, I’m going to recommend that you create your own sigils with your own statements of intent, if you can.

“This photo is bound from being used as a taglock.”

“This photo is not successfully used as a taglock for cursing.”

Ideally, you want digital sigils with transparent backgrounds, so you can avoid as much visual disturbance to your picture - you don’t want people to see or know there is anything over top of it, right?

Anyway, now on to the (SAI) tutorial!

Open your selfie and your sigils; you can switch between them along the bottom of the SAI window. Copy and paste the sigils onto your picture. I do this by clicking on the sigil’s canvas, hitting Ctrl+A and then Ctrl+C, then selecting the canvas with the selfie and hitting Ctrl+V. I can show the screen commands, however, for those that aren’t so tech savvy:

The “paste” option is also in the “edit” menu, as you can see. When you’ve done that, your selfie should look something like this:

Well, you know, you won’t look like me…but your sigils will have pasted in the top left corner of your picture. And they’re very obviously visible. BUT fortunately we’re not done with it yet.

Arrange your sigils over top of the face part of the selfie, however you want. I didn’t specify before, but the icon that looks like the cross with the arrows on each end (highlighted in blue here) :

…that’s the move tool; click on that, then on each separate layer, and you can move the layer around as you wish.) You definitely wanna do this before you change any of the transparency of the sigils, while you can still see them. Ultimately it doesn’t matter how you arrange them, just as long as they are on your face. Mine look like this:

It almost makes a heart shape, lol. So, those familar with SAI know where to look to see the layers. Mine were on the left-hand side by default, I know that is something you can change, however. They look like this:

On the bottom you can see the separate layers - your picture, and the sigils each on their own layer. Above that, you can see the “mode” and “opacity” tools. Those are the ones we care about.

Experiment with the mode if you want - it isn’t required, but it can help. I like to put mine on “overlay,” because it adds to the visualization of the sigils seeping into the picture and blending in to it. You need to click on each separate sigil layer to apply the mode. That makes it look like this:

And with that we’re almost done! Finally, just change each of the sigil layer’s opacity to 1% by clicking on the opacity bar and dragging it almost all the way down. You want them to not be at zero because they still need to be on the pictures and not “off,” but if you put them at any higher than 1%, you can still see them, and you definitely do not want people being able to see the sigils. Once you’re done that the selfie look like this:

Can you even tell there are sigils over top of that? There are. Four sigils, now, actually, lol. And this is how the layers look over on the side in SAI:

As you can see, the mode has been set to overlay on both, and they are both at 1% opacity. From there, save your picture (file, save as), feeling free to specify in the title that one has been magic’d. Then, you can upload them without any worry!

Of course, this can be done with sigils for other purposes - I just made this post with the intention of preventing selfies being used as taglocks, because that’s what I did to mine today. However, you can easily apply any sort of glamours to your selfies, if you desire.

I hope this helps anyone, or inspires anyone! Let me know if you have any more questions, or if I wasn’t so clear about things! This is my first time making a tutorial for any art program, I dunno if I did any good… But, yeah, just let me know if you have more questions or anything! :)

Someone on ig asked for a tutorial of how I do taako’s ears? I wasn’t sure if anyone else was interested but I got a lot more likes than I usually do, so I’m posting it here too!

I loved the bubble ponytail, too! I was wondering your opinion because I know many other people didn't like it. I even think it would be easy enough to recreate myself.

I loved it. Her stylist it creative when it comes to this kind of events, like the half head braided and the other half is an updo, or the wet hair style and those kind of things that we wouldn’t see at gala dinners or daily events. In some way I get why people didn’t like it, because it’s not an usual sight, but come on, she’s a 21st century Queen, would you like if she just wears her hair the same way for the rest of her life like the previous/older generation of Queens? Because I don’t, and I really like that she takes those risks.

And about the bubble ponytail, it is really simple. You just need these:

First do a simple ponytail, you can do it as you want, high, low or whatever, because the effect will be the same, but one important thing, your hair must be straight. Then tie your ponytail like this:

Try not to distance the hair bands too much, or you won’t be able to do the next step. Actually, I made a mistake with the first hair band and after I took the photo I pulled it a bit up.

After you have your hair like this, the next step is to pull up the hair in between hair bands to create that bubble effect and it should be like this:

In Letizia’s case it’s more polished because after this step I’m sure that they combed the “bubbles” and used hairspray for the little hairs to be perfectly in place.
In my case I did this in a rush and my hair isn’t straight, it’s wavy and in some parts curly, and also I have my hair cut in V, so by the end of the ponytail parts of my hair isn’t tied and I couldn’t do well a “bubble”.

To sum up, there are 3 easy steps to follow but you have to have in mind that the way your hair is cut is very important to do this succesfully.

Hope that this was useful ;)

PS: there are many easy tutorials in youtube that shows different ways of doing the bubble effect.

How to Make PNGs Quickly

Have you ever wanted to make a meme or edit of something in the spur-of-the-moment but after 10 min+ of painstakingly erasing every bit of photo to make a png you feel like it’s no longer worth it? (Yikes this sounds really infomercial-ly lol).

Anyway I came to realize I can put together edits and memes pretty quickly compared to when I 1st started making them and that’s mostly came from changing how I make pictures transparent. What I USED to do was use the eraser and erase everything outside what I wanted to keep, but that took FOREVER. Then I found an easier way, which I personally call the “clip method” and it saves so much time- so I can make pngs much faster lol.

I decided to make a short tutorial about how to do the clipping method, which I’ll put below:

anonymous asked:

hey aah i love your edits how did you add that falling animated glitter to one of the doctor who edits you made its stunning plz teach me your ways!!

hey! tysm, sorry this took me so long to answer, i am the worst.

  • okay, so first you should have photoshop (i personally use cs6 extended but i think any version should work).
  • then you’re gonna need a picture you want to edit. i usually just take mine straight from the video (i use potplayer).

1) open the picture on photoshop and edit it the way you want. add a psd, doodles if you like, crop, resize, whatever you want basically.

2) (this is optional but i personally do this) save the image as jpeg and reopen it. that way you won’t have any additional layers.

my edited picture looks like this:

3) now for the falling glitter effect. you will need a specific gif for that. try googling “sparkle gif tumblr” or smth along those lines. and going way waaay down in the search results. once you find the gif, save it and open it on photoshop.

4) my personal preference is to change the delay from 0 to 0.06 but that is totally up to you.

5) now what you have to do is change the opacity of the gif. (i have no idea how to do all frames at once so you’re gonna have to change every single one by hand). click on each layer of the gif and change the opacity from 100% to 40%. when you’re done it should look like this:

Disclaimer: i suggest saving this version of the gif as a psd file somewhere, so you don’t have to change the opacity again, the next time you need it.

6) now you can crop and resize the gif so it fits with your edited picture better. for example, i resized mine to 540x300px.

7) now go to the “window” tab -> arrange -> 2-up vertical (or horizontal, whatever is more comfortable for you). and then select Layer 1 on the gif.

8) drag the edited picture onto the gif. and make sure that the picture is the very bottom layer (drag it below Layer 1)

Disclaimer: because of the gif, the image might end up pretty dark so you can just change the brightness of it :)

9) go to file -> save for web… -> make sure it’s under 2M -> save

and you’re done! ^.^ the finished edit should look smth like this:

hope i explained it well enough, and again, so sorry for the long wait! if you need any more help, feel free to message me!
