May I present some thoughts on “I thought I was shit at math and science because no one told me otherwise” Patty Tolan?
“Y’all know this science stuff” is said less as an observation by Patty and more as a “thank God because I have no idea”
Abby inquires about it later, insanely curious because Patty remembers so much all the time and figured out that they would need the Ecto to 180 the polarity in the vortex. Patty, hesitant in a different way than she’s ever shown, explains that her teachers just always said she didn’t have the brain for math and science.
Patty, who picks up that academic journal lying around in the lab above the restaurant and waits till she gets home to highlight all the things she doesn’t understand (She’s surprised when it’s only 60% of the journal and not the whole thing.)
Patty, who expects someone to say something when she adds a kid’s science dictionary to her library but they don’t. (In fact, Patty finds an expansion of her dictionaries/resources building without her having to add much.)
Erin catches Patty staring at an equation one day and asks if she might like it explained. Patty does her best not to look caught and says, “Please.” Erin is impressed when Patty’s questions help her notice a mistake and starts to run some of her work by Patty before she collaborates with Abby.
Holtz wanders in her lab and finds Patty heavily concentrated on one of her designs. Patty apologies for encroaching on her work but Holtz stops her and asks if there was anything about her new design Patty liked best. Patty trips over her words trying to think of all she’s learned in the different metals and electrical combinations Holtz has explained or muttered during her showcases to the rest of the team. Holtz invites Patty into her lab when she finally builds her new invention and relays every step so Patty knows not only how it functions but how it’s built.
One day, they’re stuck because Abby and Erin can’t agree on the best method to use and Holtz can’t get her newest prototype to function. They’re not as stunned as Patty thought they would be when she offers two options for Erin and Abby and not only provides the right combination of parts for Holtz but also identifies them correctly by sight.
Patty, who tries not to cry when “budding scientist and mathematician” is added to her municipal historian title.
no okay but jily going out on their first date and they see a shaggy black dog following them, and james is thinking “no not today” so he starts yelling at the dog, saying “sirius i know it’s you okay just leave us alone” “those stupid begging eyes won’t work on me. get out of here!” and passersby are staring wearily. but then sirius, remus, and peter walk out of honeydukes and they watch james yelling and flailing his arms at this poor dog and they completely break down, leaving james extremely flushed and lily wheezing with laughter
My contribution to Anna Weekend 2017, prompt: Sunshine. Done with pastels.
She’s visiting the Ice Harvesters’ Village with Kristoff (she has his sash!!!), probably during some festivities, that’s why she wore more traditional outfit I based on lovely Norwegian bunader. I drew her in one braid because I was curious how she would look in more Elsa-ish hairstyle, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, I prefer her two braids, though ;)
Warnings: Implied/Referenced Child Abuse, Arranged Marriage
Notes: My late contribution to SQW. This weekend I had a friend from the States over here (I live in Brazil) so it was reeeeally cool to speak in English for long periods of time. It’s so funny to see other people staring strangely LOL Anyway, that’s the cause for my late posting. If you find any mistakes, feel free to point those out, as I haven’t revised this piece yet. (No beta yet :c)
Disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters. They belong to ABC, Disney and all that. This story is for entertainment only.
Emma is betrothed to a woman she’s never met, never seen, and doesn’t even know her name. Meanwhile, when asleep, since she was fourteen she started dreaming about someone called Regina. They are sometimes horrible, sometimes sad memories from a girl she’s never met but always wishes for her Fairy Godmother to take her away from that place.
Regina desires to be free from the clutches of an oppressive mother and those particular castle walls. She can’t wait for the day she is to be married, to have a chance at finally having some sense of freedom.
Or, the one where they are True Loves and don’t even realize it.
He keeps a paintbrush in his wand pocket like 90% of the time
Has paint under his fingernails and all over his hands like 24/7
His pants, shirts, and robes are all covered with paint as well
Plus everything in the boys dormitory
He doesn’t like charming his paintings, because he believes it takes the true magic out of it
Prefers Muggle paint brands because of that reason
His mum got him into painting when he was like five or so
From that point on there were colorful fingerprints on the walls and tapestry’s and everything else
He doesn’t like watercolor as much as acrylic or oil because he doesn’t have as much control
Gets in trouble frequently for using a small thin paintbrush to do his schoolwork instead of a quill
He abhors the scent of oil paints
For their one year anniversary, he painted the two of them cuddling, and at first Lily thought it was slightly creepy because what if somebody took a picture and he recreated it with nice paints, but after James reassured her that that wasn’t what happened, she smiled and kissed him and carried the painting around with her for the next two days.
He has at least thirty paintings of Lily and proclaims that she is his muse
Very proud of the time he painted his own nudes
At one point, when Remus was very depressed and sad, James decided that he would paint him Literally. And so he did, and when James was finished and Remus looked in a mirror, he was in utter disbelief, because no way on earth, could that thing; that piece of art, be him.
James’ favorite thing to paint, besides Lily, was either clouds, flowers, or muddy shoes
One time baby Harry got into James’ paint box, and yes, babies covered in paint are adorable, but not when the paint could be toxic and you don’t know if said baby ate it.
Drinks his paint water instead of coffee more often than he’d like to admit.
Here’s my late contribution for Kristoff weekend which is not in the subject (unless you count that modern!Anna thinks that every photo Kristoff posts is hot) Although I didn’t finish it on time it took less to be drawn than my previous one.
My contribution to Anna Weekend 2017, day 2 prompt: Rain. Done with pastels, then edited a little in Photoshop.
I know it was about rain but I couldn’t help adding a lightning, it sets the (angsty? lol) mood imho. It’s my first gif so please be kind :D
It’s the first time since the end of the movie when Kristoff had to go for a reaaally long harvesting trip, and the first time they are away from each other since the thaw. Anna is afraid of the storm since her parent’s death so when it starts to rain she starts to worry about Kristoff, and she gets almost terrified when it changes into violent storm. Elsa is away on some diplomatic trip, so she’s even more lonely, scared, and misses him even more. Plus, she’s still haunted by nightmares about Hans. Kristoff was to return that day but didn’t, so she went the stables where they usually set their little meetings, and cried, looking through the window, hoping that this way, she’d see him sooner.
(I know the picture looks depressing but don’t worry, Kristoff actually did come back, he just waited for the storm to stop to be safe.)
Here’s my contribution for the Kristoff weekend prompt warmth. I hope that you guys enjoy it.
Kristoff had never felt such warmth. To him, being warm was a luxury that he’d rarely indulged in. Warmth was a mug of glogg at a tavern. Warmth was huddling under a threadbare blanket propped against Sven, whose furry warmth eased the constant chill. Warmth was sitting in front of a fire, his numb face and extremities basking, reviving.
Now, as he lay on soft sheets in a large comfortable bed with quilts tucked snugly around him and a warm fire in the fireplace, Kristoff felt warmth. The best warmth, however, came from Anna’s body heat as she sought his warm body for warmth. Her warmth was all the warmth he would ever want or need. His love for her was warmth for both his heart and his soul. Kristoff wouldn’t have it any other way.
So this is my contribution to the makeup weekend, since I only posted one time during the actually appreciation week. I manged to cover Day 1(family), Day 2(comfort), Day 5 (home), Day 6 (hope) and Day 7 (future)
It never seized to amaze her, the feeling that spread though her heart whenever she looked at her family. For years, it had been the saviours of rogue one, they all had been broken. Pieces that didn’t fit in anywhere. But in time it all came tightened. In time they learned that their broken shards combined to other most excised mosaic. Together, they mended each other.
At first, it had been the quite evening, Cassian cooking whilst Baze would roll his eyes at Chirrut. In the first year, Bodhi ever so often drifted away, his face drain and eyes haunted. Whether it was the time with the empire or Bor Gullet he remembered, they all let him take his time. And on these evenings, Jyn would just sit and watch. Watch them laugh and tease. The glitter in their eyes, reflecting the lit candles. Slowly it came together, day by day.
Here’s my contribution for the Kristoff weekend prompt: ice. I hope that you guys enjoy it.
Ice had been a part of Kristoff’s life for more years than he could ever remember. He’d relish the feel of that cold biting wind on his face, touseling the thick mop of blond disheveled hair on his head. Ice had a unique texture, shape and rugged beauty all its own. He’d neatly cut into that frozen canvas with ice saw and axe as an artist at an easel. To the other ice harvesters, ice was just that: ice. To Kristoff, it was his life: the only constant thing like breathing and Sven.
One day, ice had betrayed him. Ice had taken away the one person who’d cared for him: the first since the deaths of his parents. Ice had robbed him of telling this little redheaded Princess of Arendelle that he loved her; loved her more than the ice who had been the love of his life. When her valiant act had thawed her, Kristoff had made a vow: Ice would never be his life again. His princess and her love would replace the ice that had been in his heart. Now and forever.

Prompt: Jason is obsessed with solangelo and has tried to get them together (with the help of Percy) all summer. When Will and Nico are stuck in the Hades cabin there’s a little more than just hanging out.
This is my contribution to Solangelo weekend! I hope you enjoy.
Nico thought it was going to be a normal day. Boy, was he wrong.
He was in the newly redecorated Hades cabin with Will. Will had insisted Nico teach him how to play Mythomagic after he heard how Nico was obsessed with it as a little kid. After a lot of begging Nico finally gave in just so Will wouldn’t annoy him anymore. So now, the two boys were sat on Nico’s bed with cards laid out in front of them, playing the game.
Will’s face was scrunched up as he thought. He was debating whether to use the Poseidon or Demeter card. Nico peered out the window and saw the last people he wanted to see right now. Jason and Percy were walking up to the Hades cabin, both of them smirking. Jason and Percy had been trying to get Will and Nico together all summer. Will and Nico were JUST FRIENDS, nothing more. Sure, they were pretty close friends, but weren’t in a relationship. It’s not that Nico didn’t like Will, because he did. A lot. Nico was too afraid to tell Will his feelings. He was afraid of rejection.
“Will!” Nico began. “Jason and Percy are coming here. I think they’re up to something.”
“Oh gods,” Will replied. “What do we do?”
“I don’t know. Maybe we can-” Nico was cut off by a knock on the door. Nico sighed and walked up to the window to look out at them. Maybe if they didn’t answer the door Jason and Percy would go away. Percy turned his head and saw Nico in the window and gave him a wave. “Dam it!” Nico mumbled as he walked up to the door. He opened the door to see a smirking Jason and Percy.
“Hey Nico,” Jason said.
“Hey guys,” Nico replied.
“What’s up?” Percy asked.
“Oh uh nothing.”
“Can we come in?”
Jason and Percy walked in. They immediately saw Will sitting on the bed with the cards. They both looked at each other and smirked.
“Hi,” Will greeted them. He was smiling but Nico could tell that he was annoyed. Nico was annoyed as well. Jason and Percy were definitely up to something, and Nico didn’t like it.
Jason started babbling about capture the flag tonight. Will and Nico were paying attention to Jason and didn’t notice Percy moving towards the door and standing there.
“GO!” Percy shouted. Jason ran toward the door, followed by Will and Nico who were both yelling about what was going on. Jason and Percy ran out the door and shut it. Nico heard the click. He tried opening the door but it wouldn’t budge.
“WHAT IS THIS?” Nico yelled. “Since when did this door have a lock?!”
“We had a Hephaestus kid install it!” Percy explained. “And we trapped you guys in here so you could…. Spend time together!”
“Percy you little shit!” Nico shouted.
“Let us out! I’m gonna kill you guys!” Will yelled. Nico could hear Percy and Jason running away, laughing.
“Now what are we supposed to do?” Nico groaned.
“Well we could finish playing Mythomagic,” Will said. “At least nobody will bother us now that we’re locked in here.”
Nico and Will had been locked in the Hades cabin for about two hours now. They had spent about an hour playing Mythomagic and then put it away. Now they were just sat on Nico’s bed talking. They had started by complaining about being locked in but then the complaining turned into a discussion. The topic kept changing into something different and before Nico knew it an hour had passed.
Nico’s stomach started to grumble. “Someone’s hungry,” Will laughed.
“Yeah they better let us out in time for dinner.”
“They will.” After Will said this the room was silent. The silence was slightly awkward, but nice.
Will broke the silence. “How long do you think they’re going to continue trying to, you know, get us together?”
“I’m afraid they won’t give up unless we ARE together,” Nico said. He hoped Will would take his hint that he’d like it if they were together.
Will looked nervous. He looked down at the floor, avoiding Nico’s eyes. “Umm,” Will began. “What if…we were together?”
Nico was shocked. Had he heard will correctly? “W-what do you mean?” He asked.
“I mean, uh,” Will tried to explain. “If we, umm, you know, if we,”
“Will, you’re not making any sense,” Nico interrupted.
Will sighed. He then took a deep breath and looked straight at Nico. “I like you, ok?! I’ve had a crush on you for awhile now! I want us to be together! I like you! But you obviously don’t like me back so just forget it!”
“Will,” Nico tried to speak. He had no words. Will Solace, the boy he’s crushed on for months actually liked him back. Will looked down at his feet, not saying another word to Nico.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Nico said. Will looked at him
“What is there not to under-”
“Of course I like you back Solace.” Nico smiled.
“W-what?” Will said. It was his turn to be speechless. “Oh my gods.” Nico started laughing and so did Will. “I can’t believe it.” He gushed. C-can I kiss you?“
Nico smiled. "I don’t know can you?” Will smiled back and they both leaned in and pressed their lips together. It’s a gentle kiss, but it was perfect. The whole world seemed to disappear as they kissed. Their kiss was interrupted the door swinging open. Nico and Will both pulled away from each other, blushing furiously. An angry Piper and Annabeth were standing in the doorway, and behind them were a beaming Percy and Jason. The angry looks quickly dissapeared off of Piper and Annabeth’s faces. They were replaced with surprise.
“YES!” Jason cheered. “I KNEW IT!”
“I’m so sorry they locked you guys in here,” Piper said. “But I can see you were enjoying the alone time. Both boy’s could feel their cheeks burning. Nico rolled his eyes.
"Whatever,” he said. But it wasn’t whatever. He had finally kissed Will Solace, thanks to Percy and Jason.
