mutant rampage

(To accommodate Sole being a child. In this prompt Sole was the eldest child of two. They had a single parent and a baby brother who is kidnapped at the beginning of the game and they travel the commonwealth searching for them. Then they find Strong !!) (some swears)

Cait:
“SHIT!” Cait screamed as the raiders in combat zone were torn a part from a rampaging super mutant. How the hell did he get in here? She crouched in the corner of her cage wielding a baseball bat. She prayed the mutant didn’t notice her.

The raiders screams died down as she heard the mutant cracking bones and severing short pleas of mercy with a spray of bullets. Cait was about to make a run for it when the cage door was thrown open by a young child. Cait stood in shock staring at the kid.

“What the fuck?”

Curie:
She was concerned as you can imagine when a small little Sole skipped down the hallway leading a large super mutant. With a loud bellow Strong smashed the rad roaches under his feet. Curie even as a robot felt a compelling urge to protect Sole and keep an eye on Strong. She happily traveled with the two back to Sanctuary.

Codsworth:
He had been attacked and stuck in repair mode after some raiders attacked sanctuary. Sole had only recently left the vault and hid from the raiders. It was those weeks that Codsworth was unconscious that Sole learnt how to sneak and kill. Sole then found Strong and returned to Sanctuary just as Codsworth booted up. He was terrified of the mutant at first. How did he know Strong wouldn’t kill Sole? Codsworth was cautious at first. He was always checking and preparing his flamethrower for when Strong would reveal his true nature but that never came. Codsworth learnt to look past Strong’s brute-like appearance and see that he was quite paternal towards Sole. It was a little odd but a robot butler, Super Mutant and child made a strong family. Pun intended

Danse:
Horrified. Repulsed. Disturbed. This child had deluded themselves and tamed a MUTANT. They were monsters that came in the night and destroyed lives and there was a child riding on a mutants shoulders. The child whistles happily as they shot ghouls down with a silenced pistol. The mutant shoved and tore ghouls a part if they got too close. Danse raised his rifle at the mutant as the child finished off the last ghoul. The mutant bared his teeth at Danse once he noticed the rifle.

“We save stupid human and he points gun at Strong!” Strong growled. The child atop his shoulders calmed the mutant by stroking his head. “Hey! Put down the gun we totally saved your butts.” Sole snapped. Danse was completely out of his depth. He had been trained to kill mutants, how to exterminate this vermon but what does he do if one saves his team. Saves him! And it has a human child of its shoulders. Danse was no diplomat he had no idea what to do. When scribe Haylen cautiously stepped forward Danse almost sighed in relief. After a little bit of nervous talking from Haylen it was obvious the child was not kidnapped or anything and the Mutant and Sole had some unnatural bond that Danse didn’t understand. Danse tried to tell the kid that mutants were dangerous and the kid should let Danse kill it.

“STRONG NOT HURT SOLE. SOLE IS STRONG’S FRIEND!” Strong bellowed as Sole’s words of comfort fell upon deaf ears.

“Shit” Danse muttered simply as the mutant swung his green fist at the paladin’s face.

Deacon:

If it had not happened in the middle of Railroad HQ, No one would have believed him. A kid. A freaking little kid had just wandered into the HQ whilst holding the hand of a freaking super mutant. They didn’t even crack the code for the door the mutant just smashed it’s way through. After the dust settled and Des finally pulled back Glory from firing at the two, it had become apparent that Sole and Strong were some sort of team.

Deacon’s mind raced. They should convince the two to join! How cool would that be! Agent Green and Agent Tiny. He was just joking however when he suggested this to a horrified Glory and bemused Des. It took a few days but the Railroad became quite used to a mutant stomping round the HQ following a little Sole who annoyed Dr Carrington with “What’s that do?” “Can I hold it?”. Hey it’s the railroad. We’re fighting for synth freedom. Perhaps domesticating mutants can be added to the list?

Dogmeat:

Dogmeat loves playing with children! It’s so rare to find one and Dogmeat instantly knew he would protect Sole as long as he was still barking. Dogmeat was wary of Strong at first. Strong was big and scary just like the nasty ones Dogmeat had seen in Boston. It took time but seeing Strong protect Sole from raiders and gunners made Dogmeat realize they were wanting the same thing. To keep Sole safe! Dogmeat thinks Strong is just like a big kid himself also Strong gives the BEST belly rubs.

Nick:

Skinny Malone’s right hand man was busy talking shit through the Overseer’s window. Too busy talking shit to realize the huge monster of a mutant charging up behind him. Nick stumbled back in surprise as the mutant raised a club above the man’s head. With a –CRACK- Nick saw blood splatter the window.

Nick heard a smaller, softer voice talk as terminal keys were tapped. Raising his gun Nick faced the door as it slid open. He wasn’t going down without a fight! To his astonishment a young child entered the room looking at him curiously.

“What are you?” Sole asked Nick quite puzzled.

“Who ARE YOU!?” Nick gasped.

Hancock:

Poor Finn. He had strolled over to some little scamp who had just entered through the gate and quite bluntly threatened the kid to hand over their caps. Hancock had not even removed the knife from his belt before Finn was lying on the ground screaming as a super mutant ripped of his face with their teeth. There was a small panic in the town as Finn was torn and devoured by the mutant but Hancock held the guards (and Kleo) back as he realized the mutant was protecting the child!

“Kid…I think you’re going to suit this town.” Hancock chuckled as Sole climbed onto a now full Strong.

After the shock of watching a man being eaten alive, Goodneighbour returned to business after Hancock gave it the all clear. Sure Finn had it coming but honestly no one was thinking arguing with a mutant.

Macready:

Macready heard Magnolia’s beautiful voice cut off as the Third Rail was flooded with screams of terror. He lifted his rifle and stormed past the two gunners who were bothering him to help. Much to his dismay there in the middle of the third rail stood a tall super mutant. Hancock stood grinning holding the mutant by the arm and much to Macready’s horror was a young child sitting happily on Strong’s shoulders.

“This is the bar…” Hancock chortled pointing around the room. “The robot over there is the bartender…” Macready interrupted Hancock with the sound of him reloading his rifle.

“Hancock. JUST…WHY!?” Macready groaned.

Piper:

The stupid mayor had locked her out of Diamond city! She argued over the intercom but the guard was not having it. Her article about synths in the city was the last straw and for the first time she began to panic. What if she couldn’t get in before night came? What about Nat? Piper began to get a little hysterical before a small kid strolled around the corner.

“Hey lady, you okay?” Sole tugged on Piper’s coat looking up at her rather concerned.

Piper looked down at the kid. “Who the hell are you? Are you on your own?” Piper’s questions became blurred before she cut out of it and turned sharply to the intercom.

“HERE THAT? THERE’S A FREAKIN’ KID OUT HERE! LET US IN OR YOU CAN EXPLAIN TO THE CITY WHY YOU LET A POOR KID DIE OUT HERE!” Piper snarled into the microphone.

Piper heard a small “fine, whatever” as the large gate started to rise. She breathed a sigh of relief and looked at Sole. “You’ll be okay, hun. Come with me and I can show you around.”

“Thanks Lady.” Sole grinned. “Can my friend come too?”

“What frien-“ Piper began. She cut off as Strong happily turned round the corner facing her. Piper stumbled back and let out one long scream.

Preston:

Preston was lost. He didn’t let it show but he had lost hope. Raiders flooded the building and there was no way he could save the small group of Quincy survivors. Sturges frantically tapped at the terminal looking for anything that could save them. Preston put on a brave face for Marcy and Jun Long who barricaded the room. Mama Murphy simply sat on the sofa. Preston could feel tears in his eyes. He had failed them. He tried to save them and they were all going to be murdered or worse enslaved by raiders. Preston felt ice fill his veins as the victorious yelling of raiders turned to screams of horror and fleeing. Preston peeked out the door to see raiders being slammed through walls by a large mutant.

Preston yelled for Sturges to help barricade the last door. Their luck had gone from shit to shitter. If they were lucky maybe the raiders would get them before the mutant did. Preston glanced at Mama Murphy and snapped a little.

“Why the –fuck- are you smiling!?” He screamed at her.

She calmly looked at him with misted eyes and grinned. “We’re saved.”

Strong:
Sole had come across Strong whilst adventuring through trinity tower. Strong was impressed such a little one was able to avoid getting killed by super mutants. Sole used their small build and stealth to quickly make their way through the tower and if they were detected by any mutants they’d quickly dispatch them with a silenced pistol they had found.

Sole started crying once they had freed Strong. They were looking for their baby brother Shaun and instead it was just another mutant. Looking down at the small weeping child Strong felt a twinge of guilt. Strong wanted to protect the little human. He felt a sad longing for a previous life he couldn’t remember and these paternal instincts he felt made him kneel down and hug the child. “Do NOT CRY. Strong keeps you safe and Strong will find the Shaun baby!” his voice boomed through the room. Sole’s sobbing calmed into small whimpers as they wrapped their arms around Strong’s neck and hugged them back.

It had been three weeks since Sole had rescued Strong. Sole had taken Strong back to sanctuary hills and they quickly became close friends. Sole showed Strong everything in his room like his toys and comics. Strong taught Shaun how to use a melee weapon and what parts of a man is best to eat.

Codsworth was a little hesitant at first but seeing that Strong meant well he quickly accepted him in the family.

“Mr Strong, Sir! Would you like a refill of Nuka cola!” Strong nodded and Codsworth topped up the tin can he used as a cup. Sole was sitting on their bed with an assortment of comics around them. Strong liked to listen to Sole read them to him.

“Master Sole, Have you considered where you will search next for Shaun’s kidnappers?” Codsworth asked. Sole looked up from his comics and Strong stopped shoveling biscuits in his mouth.

“I’m not sure…Boston is just filled with baddies and zombies.” Sole grumbled. Strong nodded in agreement.
“Well…” Codsworth began. “The man on the radio seems to be from a place called Diamond City. Why don’t we head through Concord and follow
the road till we find someone willing to give us directions?” Sole hopped off the bed excited. “Good idea! They might know who the bald guy was!”

Strong agreed with Sole. Diamond city was a big human settlement. They could help. Strong picked up his
nail board and submachine gun. Sole grinned at the super mutant and offered Strong a high five.

“Let’s do this!”

X6-88:

X6 had been sent by Father to the surface to locate and monitor Sole. Sole was Father’s older brother (although Father was now an old man and Sole still young) so Father deemed it necessary to keep a watchful eye on Sole. X6-88 decided to not report his findings to Father until he himself understood what he was seeing. There in Lexington was a young child wearing a vault suit being pushed by Strong as they rode a trolley.

X6 groaned. This was not going to be easy. How could he possibly explain to Father that yes his older brother was still alive and was for some reason under the care of a super mutant.

X6-88 was at a loss. Should he kill the mutant? But then Sole would be unprotected. X6-88 decided to remain at a distance and allow Strong to live however if Strong ever failed to protect Father’s sibling, Then X6-88 will step up to the task.

Maxson:

Maxson would of refused to believe Danse if Haylen and Rhys were not also backing up his insane story. They were saved at the police station by a super mutant. One of their most hated enemies. Even worse the mutant seemed to have a human child. Apparently the child even stopped the monster from beating Danse to death. A fight the team would of surely lost seeming as they were in terrible condition at the time. It must be a slave or some poor brainwashed orphan he thought. Maxson demanded a team of knights go out and kill the mutant however through much searching they couldn’t find Sole and Strong. Maxson was concerned. What if the mutant had grown tired of the kid and ate them?

He never made it known but Maxson fully intended to save Sole and recruit them as a Squire. Maxson refused to believe a mutant for god’s sake could care for a child. Scribe Haylen had to be given toilet scrubbing duties after Maxson found out that she had been spreading tales to the other Squires about friendly super mutants.

(sorry if you found it a little silly. i always write stuff silly lol)

“Mutant Rampage: Body Slam”

  • Video Games, November 1994 (#11)
  • If the Philips CD-i could be known for anything, it would be those games with all those badly-animated cutscenes. To give this game credit, it looks a lot better than those other CDi games you know about…
  • Oh hai, cat-nips.

I’m so, so, so happy I was able to watch Nightmare Hospital before my family and I celebrate my little sister’s birthday. Then, I would have to choose between Steven Universe and family… I’m kidding, I’m kidding.

Nightmare Hospital was pretty intense. Maybe it was because I was watching it with my little brother, and his side comments were getting to me.

He kept saying, “Get the sword, Connie! Get the sword!” during the situation with the gem mutants cornering Dr. Maheswaran, Connie, and Steven. Seeing the gem mutants rampage in the hospital was giving me Silent Hill flashbacks, I was not prepared. Ha ha!

I was really happy to see Connie and her mother better their relationship. As the first child in my family, I can relate to having a mother who is controlling and strict. For a mother with a first child and/or an only child, I can only imagine how difficult it is to be fun and understanding without being a little overprotective and overbearing at times.

Honestly, Connie’s mother handled the news of Connie being a sword fighter better than I anticipated. And the news about Steven. And Lion. Ha ha!

I don’t know. It was a great episode to start off the waves of new episodes this month!

THE LAST SCENE WRECKT ME THOUGH.

STEVEN HOLDING ROSE’S SWORD. HNNGH… MY HEART.

Also, can you imagine Rose Quartz meeting Dr. Maheswaran in another alternate universe? Like, Rose complimenting Connie’s sword skills while Dr. Maheswaran returns a compliment about Steven like, “Well, Steven is… very good at that… er, bubble shield thing he does. Yes.”

I don’t know, ha ha. Just random thought that popped in my head.
