must be seen to be believed

The Maidens of Chaos aka the Sororitas Malefica

*the Maidens of Chaos are former Sisters of Battle whose faith was found to be lacking, thus allowing the corrupting influence of the warp to infest their minds.

*While most Malefic Sororitas are commonly seen fighting alongside the forces of Chaos Undivided, Chaos Maiden Convents dedicated to a single God are not uncommon. The Sisters are often seen performing Dark rituals and rites in order to appease the Dark Gods.

*they most commonly attack Shrine Worlds, Fuedal Worlds, and Hive Worlds, using their newfound faith to slay all the non-believers. Their faith in their new found gods is legendary, and rightly feared. Their faith is frequently rewarded with Daemon Princehood; however, they must pass the same tests that their Chaos Space Marine counterparts must take in order to earn their prize

the following Convents have been identified:

*The Order of the Eight-Pointed Star: the most commonly seen Convent, the black and gold of their heraldry echoes that of the ultimate foe: The Black Legion. They are commonly seen fighting alongside the Forges of Chaos Undivided, particularly the Teutonic Lords and the Black Legion. Their zealotry and fury in battle is legendary, and they are often sought out to assist in rituals to summon Daemonic forces.

*The Order of the Bloodied Skull: The Khornates of the Sororitas Malefica, they favor an odd form of martial honor, where they often give their opponent a fair chance. Of course, such a gesture will do said opponent no good, as the Bloodied Skull Sisters are some of the most fierce melee combatants amongst the Chaos Forces, able to fight against even a Khornate Berzerker in single combat. Their armor is painted red with pieces of sacred brass bolted on to show their devotion to the Blood God

*The Order of Grandfather’s Blessing:True Nurgle worshippers, this order is filled with Sororitas whose flesh and blood is filled with disease and decay; their almost zombie-like flesh is as legendarily resilient as the Plague Marines. They spread despair throughout the Galaxy, hoping to show all why they should accept the Blessing of Grandfather Nurgle. Their armor is bloated with a sickly green, often showing their fetid intestines.

*The Order of the All-Seeing Eye: The leadership of this Order has been granted immense Psychic abilities and the ability to predict the future. This has led to them becoming foremost in the plotting of the intricate and convoluted plots of Tzeentch. many of the sisters plot against each other in a bid for even more power, but when united against a common fore, few can stand against their psychic power. Their armor is painted in bright blues and they wear a mask with beaks upon them to show their faith in the Architect of Faith.

*The Order of Cacophonous Harmony: these sisters utilize the Sonic weapons commonly found amongst the noise marines to great effect. They often burn incense mixed with hard combat drugs to increase their effectiveness and speed on the battlefield. All will bow before the sound of the Great Sermons of Slaanesh, and the bright pinks and purples that herald the coming of the Slaanesh’s symphony!

*The Order of Anarchic Destruction: the Smallest of all the Orders but wielding the most potential, these Sisters worship the Anti-God, Malal. Often traveling the Galaxy alone, they seek out champions of other gods and utterly annihilate them, claiming their soul to be sent to Malal’s Prison. Their colors are the darkest black and lightest white - fitting for ones with such a twisted sense of morality as the followers of Malal

those are all the ideas I have for Chaos Sisters so far! Let me know what you think of them

Masterpost: Islamic Concepts, Words & Phrases!

So, as promised, here’s the masterpost of the different, most common, types of concepts, words and phrases that we, as Muslims, use in our day to day speak, and perform on the daily. The reason for this masterpost is so that, if and when Season 4 airs, and if it is about Sana, then most likely, these words and phrases, or concepts, may be commonly used/addressed, so it’s always nice to just, have a reference, I guess, of their meaning, so that you can understand the context and definition a little better!

CONCEPTS.

Islam: The word “Islam” in itself means to submit, to surrender - to give yourself over to Allah, to feel the peace that giving yourself over to Allah brings to you.

Allah: The Arabic word for God.

Muhammad (sal’lalaahu alayhi wasalam): The final prophet sent down by Allah to mankind, with the religion of Islam. (sal’lalaahu alayhi wasalam), or sometimes seen as Muhammad (SAW) means ‘peace be upon him’, which you’ll sometimes see as Muhammad (PBUH). It is an extension we add on to the name Muhammad, whenever the prophet Muhammad (SAW) is being referred to, out of respect.

“The 5 Pillars of Islam”: These are, in essence, the 5 core aspects of Islam, that every Muslim must believe in, and do to their full potential, unless it is detrimental to their health, or they are unable to do so due to a lack of wealth:

  • Shahaadah - This is the very core belief of a Muslim. They “must testify and bear witness that there is no deity but Allah, and that Muhammad (SAW) is his worshipper and messenger.”
  • Salah - The 5 daily prayers, which must be read. These are Fajr (the prayer we read before sunrise), Zauhar (the midday prayer), Asr (the late afternoon prayer), Maghrib (the prayer we read before sunset) and Isha (the night prayer). Each of these prayers are signalled when the Adhaan (the call to prayer) is heard, and before performing these prayers, Wudhu (ablution) must be made.
  • Zakah - Alms, charity. Every year, we must take a portion of money out from our combined wealth that we own to give to charity to the poor and needy. Of course, to do that, Islam sets certain rules on how much wealth you must have in order to classify if whether you are in a position where you can give charity or not.
  • Sawm -  Fasting in the month of Ramadhan. Ramadhan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar, whereby the start and the end of it is marked by the sighting of the crescent moon. During Ramadhan, Muslims all over the world must fast from sunrise to sunset, abstaining from food, water, sex and sin. They must instead increase their worshipping of Allah, by performing Salah and increasing their Tilaawat (reading of the Qur’aan), Tasbeeh (praising of Allah) and indulge themselves as much as they can within Islam. Suhoor (morning meal) is the meal we eat before sunrise happens, kind of like a breakfast, before we begin our fast for the day, and Iftaar (evening meal) is the meal we eat to break our fast, just as sunset is about to occur. Taraweeh is an additional compulsory Salah that Muslims must pray in Ramadhan (since this Salah is only read during Ramadhan, and in no other month beside it) after the Isha Salah. The end of Ramadhan is marked with Eid ul Fitr, the first of our 2 Eids that we have within the year, a celebration! The fasts in Ramadhan are only compulsory on people that are physically and mentally healthy enough to do them.
  • Hajj - The 5 day sacred pilgrimage that takes place in the final month of the Islamic calendar, once a year. Muslims all over the world travel to Saudi Arabia, more specifically, Makkah and the surrounding cities near it, to perform their Hajj. Only those that are physically and mentally healthy, and that can afford the Hajj, will find it compulsory on them to do so. Our 2nd Eid, Eid ul Adha is celebrated on the 3rd day of Hajj, by remembering the sacrifice that the Prophets Ibrahim (Abraham) and his son, Ismail (Ishmael) were to make.

Qur’aan: The Holy Book of Islam. It is considered to be Allah’s final word, and the final, unchanged Holy Book that was sent down via Angel Jibra’eel (Angel Gabriel) to the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Hadeeth: The teachings and sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) that were reported by his close family and friends.

Sunnah: The beloved actions of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) that were reported by his close family and friends.

Shari’ah Law: The Islamic ruling. Any Muslim country will most likely be governed by the Shari’ah Law. However, its not just people living in a Muslim state that must abide by the Shari’ah Law. Muslims all over the world must try their best to abide by it too. The Shari’ah Law is based upon the teachings of the Qur’aan, which hold the most weight in Islam, with a little understanding from the Hadeeth and Sunnah, in terms of how to apply these Laws.

Jihad: The word itself means to struggle, to battle. There are 2 types:

  • Jihad Kabeera: The Greater Struggle/Battle - this is the one we as Muslims face on a daily basis, within ourselves, to better ourselves as believers of Allah, to always do the right thing by Islam, which is something that affects us on a daily basis, especially if we live in the West, since we face the battle of living in the Western society, as well as being Muslims, and choosing to do the right thing.
  • Jihad Sagheera: The Lesser Struggle/Battle - this is the one where we proactively, as Muslims, must fight against anyone who wrongfully says ill about Islam. In it, we must take care that we are not hurting those, who have not hurt us, but rather, that we fight against the common prejudices, stigmas and stereotypes that are placed on Islam and Muslims.

Hijaab: The headpiece the women of Islam are recognised by. However, hijaab is not just that. Hijaab is also in the way we dress modestly, the way we must act modestly, the way we must speak modestly, because the woman’s modesty in Islam is very, very highly valued and respected. Men are told lower their gazes in front of women.

Niqaab: The face veil that some, not all, but some Muslim women choose to wear, if they want to.

Burqa: The long material that covers the head and reaches thigh length, that some women, again, choose to wear, if they don’t want to wear the Hijaab, but something a bit more looser and covering.

Abayah: The long “dress” the women wear, on top of their usual clothes. Most of the times, these are black, with several printed or embroidered designs on them for more fancier wear, or sometimes they are simple, for more everyday wear. Not all women wear an abayah, and not every abayah is black in colour.

Thobe/Jubbah: Kind of like an abayah, but for men? I guess? It’s a long stitched garment, that comes in many different colours, mostly neautrals, like white, gray, beige, black, blues, greens etc, that men wear. Muslim men in the East wear this more frequently than Muslim men in the West, but Muslim men in the West would most likely wear this on Friday, Ramadhan, and Eid - on sacred occasions.

Dua: Prayers. So, when you raise your hands and pray to Allah, and ask anything of him and remember the people who you want to remember in your prayers to Allah.

Jummah: It means Friday, which is the holy day for Muslims. Kind of like Sabbath, I guess. On Fridays, instead of the Zauhar prayer, men normally go to the Masjid (the mosque) to offer Jummah Salah (The Friday Prayer), where the Imam (the person leading the prayer) will give a Kutbah (a short sermon) regarding a specific topic to do with Islam.

Masjid: The Mosque. This is where Muslims gather to pray Salah 5 times a day.

Madressah: Islamic schooling - so, Islamic classes that, most often, take place inside the Masjid, i.e, the mosque, when it is not being used by the general Muslim public to offer Salah.

WORDS & PHRASES.

As-salaamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaatuhu: This is a greeting, both used as a hello and a goodbye between Muslims. As-salaamu’alaikum - May peace be upon you, Warahmatullahi - And Allah’s mercy, Wabarakaatuhu - And his blessings. Usually though, most people will only say/use As-salaamu’alaikum.

Allah Hafiz: May Allah protect you. This is another greeting we have that Muslims use as a goodbye.

Bismillah hirahmaa niraheem: In the name of Allah, the most Merciful, the Most Kind. It’s a phrase we use/say when we’re about to start something, we start whatever we do in the name of Allah, by remembering him so that whatever we’re doing will have a successful outcome. Somtimes, we just say Bismillah, in short, which just means, In the Name of Allah.

Subhanallah: Glory be to Allah. This is a Tasbeeh (a praise of Allah) that is said when something overwhelms you, so much so, that you literally have to take a moment and glorify Allah for having that thing overwhelm you, whether it be someone’s beauty, something’s beauty, or something that’s happened that’s overwhelmed you in a really positive way.

Alhamdulillah: All praises be to Allah. This is a Tasbeeh that’s said when you’re thankful for something. Thankful for anything or anyone, for food, for good health, after we sneeze we say Alhamdulillah, or if someone is asking you how you are, you can simply reply back by saying Alhamdulillah, and they’ll understand that you are in good health, or if someone is offering you something extra, like food, for example, then you can simply say Alhamdulillah, and they’ll understand that you’re content with the amount you have.

Allahu Akbar: Allah is the Greatest. This is another Tasbeeh, but it’s used in quite versatile ways. It’s the first and last phrases of the Adhaan, it’s said in Salah, but it’s also used in daily speak too, most often when we want to reaffirm our belief in Allah, to remind ourselves that, Allah is our sole keeper of destiny, and that, sometimes, things we don’t anticipate can happen too. It’s a resounding statement of faith, that can invoke feelings of strength when it is needed, telling you to reevaluate where your faith is at. Or if something that you can’t believe is happening, you’ll say Allahu Akbar, to express your disbelief in it.

Insha’allah: If Allah wills. This is something we say when we’re thinking about the future, and we hope that the way we think about the future is something Allah is willing to offer us. Kind of like a “I don’t wanna jinx it”.

Mash’allah: Allah has willed. This is something we say out of respect for a situation, if it’s gone in favour of someone else we’re speaking to, or if we’re appreciating someone, whether it be their beauty or their character. It’s a way of showing someone that you’re extremely happy that Allah has willed for something to go their way.

Wallah: I swear by Allah. It’s something you say when you’re absolutely serious about something, because you are swearing to Allah about it, you are keeping Allah as your witness about it.

Astagfirullah: I seek forgiveness from Allah. This is said when you’re repenting to Allah, or someone else may say this to you if they’re reminding you of something wrong that you did/are doing, not as a way to patronise, but to remind you that you have a choice in not doing that wrong thing either.

Jazakallah Khair: May Allah reward you with the best (of rewards). This is said in place of thank you, when you’re thanking someone for something, Most people sometimes just say Jazakallah, or either Baarakallah (May Allah’s blessings be upon you.)

Ameen: Amen. Something you say when you’re agreeing with something, or accepting something from someone.

Mubarak: Glad tidings/Congratulations. Usually you’ll hear people say this in Ramadhan or Eid, to each other, or if someone tells someone else they’re going for Hajj/have come back from Hajj, you’ll hear the phrases:  Ramadhan Mubarak, Eid Mubarak, Hajj Mubarak etc, but generally, it’s just used as way of saying congrats.

Nikah: Wedding.The actual wedding ceremony.

Ammi: Mum.

Abba: Dad.

Habibi/Habibti: The Most Beloved. Where Habibi is the masculine term, and Habibti is the feminine term. It’s not just said to the person you love romantically, it can be said platonically too, and quite often, is.

Salt & Witchcraft

Salt is a go to ingredient that witches seem to use abundantly.

Salt and it’s historical uses

In Germany, Normandy, and Scotland salt was sprinkled around a butter churn to keep witches from souring the butter or hurting the cow whose milk was used to make the butter.

An Irish folk remedy called upon the use of salt as well as the reciting of the lords prayer to get cure ‘faerie-struck’ children. Similar to the way the Bavarian and Ukrainian people used to figure out if a child had been bewitched.

Egyptian Caravans that were preparing to cross the desert would perform a ritual that involved burning salt on hot coals in order to prevent evil spirits nothing the travelers as well as to ensure a safe passage.

Provided protection from witches, witchcraft, demons, and the evil eye.

Salt and it’s uses in Witchcraft

Salt in general is used in ritual purification, magickal protections, and blessings.

Some witches place salt in the four corners of the room before casting.

Used in purification spells.

Used to symbolize earth, one of the elements, on your altar or when you are casting. Sea salt may be used as the element water due to the fact that it came from the sea.

Used in the Witches Bottle

Can be used as an offering to the Gods.

Some people associate it with wealth, prosperity, and good luck.

Is an ingredient used often and abundantly in Kitchen Magick.

Creates a magickal, protective barrier.

Cleanses

Throw salt to ward off malevolent spirits and energies.

Repels many types of evil.

Absorbs psychic energies.

Place in your bath to cleanse and rid negativity. (Epsom Salt)

Salt and it’s superstitions

If someone spills the salt at dinner, it means a violent family quarrel is on the way.

It’s considered bad luck to lend salt to someone, because that can lead to a feud between the borrower and the lender. A good way to avoid this problem is if you get a cup of salt from someone, pay it back with sugar or molasses instead. Interestingly, in parts of northern England and Scotland it is also seen as bad luck to lend salt, mostly because the person borrowing it can use it as a magical link to curse you.

Salt can also be used to detect the presence of witches: in the Ozarks, it is believed that witches don’t eat much salt, so if someone complains about food being too salty, she might be regarded with suspicion. There is also a tale that bewitched cattle will not touch salt.

If you spill salt you must through it over your shoulder to bring you good luck and to keep evil at bay.

Types of salt and there properties

Himalayan Salt: Is commonly used for protection, especially around the home and against malevolent spirits. Also used to purify and to get rid of any negative energies. Used in spells to release from attachment. It has gentle, but strong grounding and centering energies. Brings prosperity and abundance into a home. Promotes love, happiness, and friendship.

Black Salt: Is used mainly for protection. Absorbs and contains any negativity. Can be used for hexing too. It drives away evil and protects your home and belongings. Use it to create boundaries with your enemies. Wardings, undoings, uncrossings, binding work, journeying to the afterlife, honoring the crone, and many other workings use black salt. Black salt can also be used to return curses and negative energies back to it’s caster. Working with the dark moon.

Sea Salt: Sacred to water deities and used often in Sea Witchcraft.  Make herbal salt scrubs. Used to consecrate. Commonly used to make magick circles. Used for protection as well. Can be used in curses. It is associated with purity, protection, purification, and blessings.

get to know me meme: [2/5] favorite male characters
↳ The Doctor (Doctor Who)

I walked away from the Last Great Time War. I marked the passing of the Time Lords. I saw the birth of the universe and I watched as time ran out, moment by moment, until nothing remained. No time. No space. Just me. I walked in universes where the laws of physics were devised by the mind of a madman. I’ve watched universes freeze and creations burn. I have seen things you wouldn’t believe. I have lost things you will never understand. And I know things, secrets that must never be told and knowledge that must never be spoken.

Shiro Meta: “I want you to lead Voltron”

So a lot of people have been talking about why Shiro chose Keith to lead Voltron if anything happened to him. I’ve seen this attributed to Shiro’s favouritism or bias towards Keith, but I have another take on things: Shiro’s choice of Keith as his successor reflects his own insecurities about his suitability as leader.

We know Shiro harbours serious doubts about his ability to lead Voltron. In 1x09 Shiro hears Sendak’s voice in his head telling him “Did you really think a monster like you could be a Voltron Paladin?” And in 2x03 when Allura tells him: “You are the Black Paladin now, not Zarkon,” Shiro disagrees: “Yeah, well - the Black Lion may have a different take on the matter.”

See this? This is the face of a man who fully expects to get spat out of his Lion again at any moment. (If you want a really long and interesting meta about Shiro’s relationship with the Black Lion following the S1 finale, read {it’s all about trust} by @headspacedad)

Coming out of that battle with Zarkon in 1x11, Shiro no longer knows if the Black Lion trusts him, or if he can trust her. And it’s easy to see why: the Black Lion forcibly ejected him from the cockpit in the middle of battle. He thought they’d bonded; now it seems like they haven’t.

{relationship status: IT’S COMPLICATED}

But his insecurities go deeper than that: during that climactic battle at the end of season 1, not only was Shiro ejected from his own Lion, he also had a full-blown panic attack onboard the Galra ship and had to be rescued by Hunk and Allura. Allura - the person he’d come to rescue in the first place - ended up saving him.

Right after this battle, an injured Shiro crash-lands on an alien planet and tells Keith: “If I don’t make it out of here - I want you to lead Voltron.” And it’s not just because he’s injured. He thinks he’s failed as a leader. And in that moment, he probably fully expects the Black Lion to reject him again. Or maybe he expects Allura to take him aside and just quietly tell him “Look, it’s not working out. We need to pick someone else as the Black Paladin.” Because how can you lead Voltron if you can’t even keep control of your own Lion? How can you lead Voltron if you panic in the middle of battle?

For the record: I think Shiro is DEAD WRONG and he’s an amazing leader and I have so many feelings about how great Shiro is and what it means to see a mentally ill character in a leadership role but I DIGRESS. The point is: Shiro spends much of season 2 battling his own feelings of inadequacy about his position as Black Paladin.

Shiro’s line that “The Black Lion may have a different take on the matter” reflects his own belief that the Black Lion doesn’t want him as a Paladin. He thinks she’d rather have someone else - someone who’s less of a walking disaster. And again: I really don’t think she does, and I have SO MANY THOUGHTS about this that I will probably write up at some point, but that’s not the point. The point is Shiro firmly believes that he’s not good enough to be the Black Paladin, and that the Black Lion would rather be piloted by someone else.

Someone like Keith.

Remember that battle at the end of season 1? Whilst Shiro was getting spat out of the Lion and having a panic attack, Keith was doing this:

Yep, just casually taking on Zarkon one-on-one, without hesitation. Not only does Keith intervene to save the Black Lion from Zarkon’s grasp - he also fights Zarkon head-to-head, repeatedly charging back into the attack with no regard for his own safety.

Shiro must have seen and heard this and thought: “That’s the kind of Paladin the Black Lion deserves. That’s the kind of Paladin she wants.” A brave and decisive leader, not a hot mess. Someone who’ll charge at Zarkon head-first; who can keep it together in the midst of battle. Shiro thinks he should have been the one battling Zarkon, not Keith. As Black Paladin and leader of Voltron, he should have been the one to charge at Zarkon and try and take him down. Instead, he was having a panic attack, and Keith was the one who stepped up.

Shiro chooses Keith to be the next leader of Voltron because he thinks Keith is the kind of leader Voltron needs, and the kind of Paladin the Black Lion deserves.

It doesn’t particularly matter that this choice doesn’t make a lot of sense, or that the team might be better off with a more cool-headed and thoughtful leader. This is not a rational decision on Shiro’s part. It’s a decision rooted in his own insecurities. His decision-making is flawed: not because of bias or favouritism, but because of his own sense of inadequacy. He looks at Keith and sees someone who will take on Zarkon without hesitation. He looks at himself and sees a failure. And he concludes that Keith is the kind of Paladin the Black Lion wants - that she would rather have Keith than him.

And the Black Lion spends most of season 2 proving him wrong, but that’s a meta for another day.

(thank you @bentfire for the screencaps btw)

I got some thoughts on Little Nightmares. As usual for me, I am more interested in everybody else and not the main character. Typical me.

Anyway as far as the world goes the basics are not hard to grasp. You are a human on a giant’s vessel. Giants were known to be maneaters in many of the different cultures they appear in, so raising and preparing human like domesticated livestock is no big surprise.

What I am interested in is this particular crew. Been looking at things and the websites and I got some info. Like many others, the sight of fat customers coming aboard to eat en masse reminded me of tourism/the food industry-and with The Lady looming over as she does, it’s not hard to deduce she runs this eatery. Now here’s what it says about “The Lady” on the site -

“Admist the chaos of the world outside, The Maw is the only place that makes sense.”

It gives off the impression she might have been drifting before, lost, without a purpose and without a place to belong. Obviously she looks Japanese and aside from the eatery, not a lot of other places in the boat follow that aesthetic. She is far from home. But not just that-I think the others were lost too-if fact I think they were all together before as well. Look at this one-

-”he fled the world and found The Maw.”  People point out the painting of The Lady with other shadowy figures when contemplating the identity of Six, but you’ll notice the other pictures are quite interesting too. I believe our man here is in one of them-the chefs too.

With the chefs, I’m thinking they were probably twins who were born fused together separated a little after birth-more on that theory later though.

.

Mr. Legless sure looks like Mr. Arms tho. That The Lady keeps pictures of them gives me the impression they must have all known each other for a long time-predating The Maw.

Not only that, but they are all wearing masks. The Janitor’s mask seems to be peeling and blocks his view, The chefs can be seen scratching under their mask and The Lady is wearing a much more obvious mask. Perhaps they are all from the same place and are trying to “blend in” with their new found culture/people. -Another interesting possibility-they are outcasts even among giants. The smashed mirrors, the masks and the Janitor - maybe these were originally a band of misfits-rejected at home who drifted aimlessly for a while before finding a place to belong, a place that “makes sense”.

After all, no one cares what you look like if you’re serving up grub.

This game, I hear, was originally called Hunger. Once you play the game yourself, you’ll see how that theme remains. Hunger drives what we assumed to be an innocent little girl to prefer to kill and eat others savagely to survive. Hunger can take you dark places. The Maw itself is a dark place, I’ve heard a youtuber comment after seeing it all that Six became “like them”.

Perhaps hunger was also what drove them to such an extreme. Fattening, slaughtering, serving, in an endless cycle. It’s not pretty but it keeps them alive. It’s a purpose-it’s a living.

Maybe this was something the game was trying to get across. How ruthless the fight for survival can really be and how things like good and evil can sometimes be made to take a backseat when you’re starving to death.

favorite tv shows moodboard: Doctor Who (2005 – present)

So… So… Come on, then. Take mine. Take my memories. But I hope you’ve got a big appetite because I’ve lived a long life and I’ve seen a few things. Knowledge that will make parasite gods blaze. So come on then! Take it! Take it all, baby!

Kennel Career

Cynn was new to the kennel. She had just begun her job there four days
earlier. In general, only staff who had worked at the kennel for three or more
months was tapped for overnight duty but due to recent budget cuts and a
staff and volunteer shortage, all staff were eligible for overnight duty. One
Friday night, Cynn’s boss asked if she would volunteer for extended overnight
duty. There were no other staff available and the kennel would not be open to
customers but he needed someone to look after the dogs for the next three
days and four nights–he was going on vacation. Cynn agreed. Little did she
know, this would be the start of her Kennel career.

The first night, Cynn went through the normal round of checks–she made sure
the cages were clean, the dogs had plenty of water, the cages were locked, all
doors were locked, and the dogs were clean and fed. Earlier, when she had
walked the dogs, four had gotten loose and rolled around in the mud. She was
going to have to bathe them before she put them in their cages for the night.

The first dog was an Irish Wolfhound. He was pretty big but fairly easy to
handle. Unfortunately, he seemed to want to play instead of get his bath. By
the time Cynn got him into the shower, she was soaked. So she decided to
take off her clothes and shower with the dog. What could it hurt? He was just
a dog. So, after pulling off her wet clothes she went to the Irish Wolfhound’s
cage and led him into the shower. The dog was frisky and slippery. She
dropped the brush she was using to clean him and it fell into one of the side
traps in the floor. To retrieve it she had to get on all fours.

She almost had the brush when the Irish Wolfhound jumped up on her back.
She tried to throw him off and stand up but he growled and lightly bit her neck.
She felt something pointy and hot poking at her backside. She looked between
her legs and saw the biggest dog cock she had ever seen. The Wolfhound was
desperately trying to get his cock into her. She froze. She had heard about
people having sex with animals but she never really believed it. She even had
to admit she was turned on by stories of animals banging women. Instead of
being scared, she was now turned on. She spread her legs a little giving the
dog better access to her cunt. Success! The dog’s cock slipped right into
her. He was soooo big! His cock must have been 9 inches long and 3
around. It was also very hot. The dog began humping her for all he was worth.
No man had ever pounded into her as fast and as hard as this dog was. She
could feel some of his cum inside her but knew there was more to come. Then
she felt something huge banging at the door to her cunt. She looked between
her legs again and saw the dog’s knot. It was the size of a grapefruit! She
wasn’t sure she wanted that inside her. But she didn’t have a choice. The
wolfhound gave three massive lunges and the knot jammed inside her. The
dog thrust four more times, trying to bury into her and then she felt a surge of
hot liquid erupt into her. The dog had cum inside her! Now that the dog had
quite pounding her and the pain from his knot was subsiding Cynn thought
about what had just happened.

She had been fucked by a dog. And she liked it! She hadn’t cum but she
loved the feel of the dog pounding into her; she could even get used to the
knot being inside her; and the cum! It was hotter than anything she had ever
had inside her.

By now the dog grown tired and turned so they were butt to butt. Five minutes
later, his cock dropped out of her cunt with a loud pop. She was getting ready
to stand up when suddenly another dog jumped on her back. She looked
around and realized she had left the cages for the other three dogs open. They
were now crowded around her and each had a massive cock hanging between
its legs.

The dog on her back now was a large dog named Buster. Buster had no trouble
finding her cunt opening. His cock jammed right into her and he became
ramming into her. He was like a jackhammer. Fast, hard thrusts. He was
about the same size as the first dog and since she had survived that fuck
alright, Cynn decided to let herself go with this one. She opened her legs,
leaned down on her forearms, and put her ass high in the air. Buster took this
as accent and began ramming her even harder and faster. She could feel
something building in her. With each of buster’s thrusts she tingled more and
more. When he began ramming her hard trying to get his knot into her she
began pushing her ass back on the dog cock. As Buster jammed his knot into
her, Cynn experienced her hardest orgasm ever. She screamed with its
impact. And has Buster poured his dog cum into her, her muscles milked his
cock for every last drop!

Once Buster was done, Cynn quickly contemplated whether she could handle
two more dog fucks. She was very tired and her cunt ached. But, she thought
just a little too long. The huge Alaskan Husky that had been impatiently
pacing around her and Buster jumped on her back. His cock kept stabbing at
her but never seemed to reach the right hole. She finally reached back
between her legs and grabbed hold of his cock. It was then she realized this
cock was substantially larger than the previous two. It was at least 11 inches
in length and a good 3 to 4 in girth. If it was this big now, how big would the
knot be? She quickly tried to push the dog off her but he weighed a good 90
pounds and was lust-crazed. He growled and bit her shoulder. Realizing she
was stuck, Cynn placed the tip of his cock at the opening of her cunt. He
reared back and slammed all of it into her in one thrust. She screamed. The
dog went wild. He was pounding into her so hard and deep he was actually
moving her closer to the wall. She steadied herself and positioned her arms to
take the pressure of his pounding cock. As he fucked her, the dogs cock got
bigger, it was now tearing at the walls of her cunt. If she didn’t
have two loads of dog cum in her she knew she would have been in a world of hurt. As it was,
she wasn’t sure what she felt most…Pain or pleasure. She had never been so
full. The dog cock filled her up completely. The friction created by his
increasingly fast humping was driving her crazy. The dog was going crazy.
She felt his drool on her back. He was emitting this deep grunts with every
thrust and he kept humping her faster and faster. For the second time in her
life, Cynn had a mind blowing orgasm. She screamed her way through it and
thought she would pass out.

Then the dog succeeded in shoving his knot into her. Instead of stopping his
thrusts, he continued to hammer into her. Cynn came again. And just as she
was emerging from that orgasm the dog let loose a surge of cum that triggered
another orgasm. Now, both she and the dog were panting. Her arms were lying
flat on the shower floor and her head was cradled on them. The dog lay heavily
on her for several minutes. Finally, the dog moved off her as his cock dropped
out of her. Cynn quickly jumped up knowing she could not take another dog
fuck tonight.

Jack, the last of the four dogs, growled and backed her up until she
hit the wall of the shower. He had just seen three dogs fuck the crap out of her and he
wanted his turn. She tried to calm him by speaking in a soft voice but it didn’t
work. She tried to edge around him but he kept up with her every movement.
Cynn finally decided she was going to have to make a run for it. The door was
just a 10 feet away. Jack seemed to sense her intent. He positioned himself
squarely between her and the door. Cynn tried everything she could distract
him. She even called one of the other dogs over to her. Jack turned on that
dog (as Cynn knew he would) and she took off running. She was almost
through the door when Jack tackled her. He growled menacingly and without
waiting for her to get on all fours Jack rammed his huge cock into her cunt. He
plowed into her again and again for what seemed like forever. Having a much
larger cock than any of the other dogs, Jack’s knot was huge. It took nearly
ten minutes for him to jam it into Cynn. While Jack concentrated on showing
his bitch she shouldn’t run from him, Cynn experienced three more mind-
blowing orgasms. And as Jack reared back, plunged into her, and jetted what
seemed to be gallons of cum into her ravaged cunt, Cynn passed out.

An hour later, Cynn woke up in a pool of dog cum. She was laying half in and
half out of the door to the main kennel. She looked back. All the dogs were
asleep in their cages. As she crawled through the door she smiled. She had
three more nights in which to fuck the remaining 15 dogs in the kennel.

Sagittarius - The End and the Beginning of Everything

Waking from what seemed like eternal death, a lifetime of dying over and over as a Scorpio, becoming a phoenix, and now dancing in the dazzling sky, like jade diamonds. Flying over all the lives she has seen, every experience fills her mind with another location, another tropical island filled with mythological secrets and opportunity. She learned the art of psychic activity as a Scorpio, and now she is in tune with cosmic timing, living in a future arranged by vision, light, and prophecy. And yet it can all feel so incomplete, having kissed death and returned to reunite with a godly lover, through wind, trees, snow, and sea. One part of her body longs for the soil of the ground, the taste of real love, the human experience, grand and simple. And yet the spirit source caresses her to elevate higher, leave the lower mind behind and anybody who dwells there, for she must meet God face to face, with no church or temple or orgasm to hide behind. Ah, this is the essence of life. To believe what she has not seen, but to believe she will, so from the sky angels dwell but concealed by her own will. Sometimes she is too scared of her own greatness, she is after all, a hunter, one whose heart is reserved for the highest priestess.

Summary: It’s strange, how Otabek doesn’t mind that his lungs are filled with flowers and each day is more agonizing than the last. After all, loving Yuri Plisetsky is a privilege in and of itself. (belated happy valentine’s day! warning for character death, otayuri, hanahaki au, word count: 6166)

He first meets Yuri when he is twelve, almost thirteen. He is hunched over, heaving from the strenuous exercise that Yakov made them do, and he looks up to try again when he sees him. He must be ten at the oldest, and is without a doubt the best student in that room. Otabek never pays much attention to the other students, but this time he looks at this boy, who manages to complete the exercise he’s been struggling with effortlessly.

And then the boy’s head turned to look at his direction, and he is captivated.

i keep seeing the stereotype that latin is a less poetic language than greek, and i’d like to push back on that. for one thing, i don’t think any language is inherently more poetic than another, though some use certain signifiers that we [modern english speakers] might consider poetic more often than others. secondly, poets and poetry flourished in ancient rome, regardless of modern aesthetic concepts of what kind of marked speech “should” comprise poetry. finally, the complexity and cleverness of the word order in latin poetry cannot be conveyed in an english translation because it must be converted into a language with strict word order. it’s like installing windows on a mac. look.

inter quas phoenissa recens a volnere dido
errabat silva in magna; quam troius heros
ut primum iuxta stetit adgnovitque per umbras
obscuram, qualem primo qui surgere mense
aut videt, aut vidisse putat per nubila lunam,
demisit lacrimas…

among them phoenician dido, freshly wounded,
was wandering in the great forest; the trojan hero, as he first
stood near her and recognized through the shades
her gloomy [form]–like one who, early in the month, either sees
or believes he has seen the moon rise through the clouds–
let fall his tears…(aeneid  6.450-5)

we have two feminine nouns here, dido and the moon (luna), and they merge seamlessly into a metaphor via the adjective obscuram, which appears to apply to both of them at second glance; but at first glance, you don’t find out that vergil is describing the moon until the very end of the next line:

obscuram, qualem primo qui surgere mense
aut videt, aut vidisse putat per nubila lunam

so as the audience you experience the same uncertainty as aeneas here, the subject of the metaphor suspended and unclear until the end. but vergil’s metapoetic word order is obliterated by english word order.

all of this is also written in beautiful dactylic hexameter, which most english-speaking readers wouldn’t even realize is a meter, if they happened to be reading a translation that attempted it.

tl;dr: don’t call latin a less poetic language because it doesn’t conform to preconceived modern english notions of poetics.

I’m In Love With My Best Friend – Cody Christian Imagine

Requested by Anon: Could you write an imagine where you told your sister that you have a boyfriend so she’d stop trying to set you up with guys, but now she’s coming to visit for surprise and you need a fake boyfriend during your sister’s visit so you ask Cody (your best friend) to pretendbe your boyfriend and everything seems goes right until the act stop being act?

Word Count: 3,141

Warnings: None other than Cody saying a curse word, ha. Fluff?

Author’s Note: Y/S/N = Your Sister’s Name. I did this because in previous imagines where I’ve named a sibling or best friend, some of y’all have mentioned it was weird to read your own name. So I decided to let y’all use your actual sister’s name or come up with the name yourselves if you don’t have a sister.

Also, I sneaked in a line from Gilmore Girls. I wonder if anyone can point it out.

“Come on. Come on. Come on.” Y/N whispered repeatedly as the phone rang. She paced back and forth in her bedroom, hoping her best friend would answer. “Pick up the damn ph-”

The sound of her best friend’s groggy and sleepy voice interrupted her rambling. “Hello?”

“It’s about time! Why aren’t you answering your phone? I only called you like a hundred times! I could have been dying and-“

Cody noticed the nervous rush in her voice and rubbed this tired eyes. He cleared his throat before he interrupted her. "Okay, first of all I was filming all night and I just got home a couple of hours ago. Second of all, you’re obviously not dying so this better be good, because as much as I love ya, you know I get cranky when I don’t get enough sleep. Lastly, breathe. Just breathe,” he inhaled and exhaled, which Y/N mimicked, making her feel a little better.

“Now tell me what’s wrong?” He asked groggily yet genuinely concerned at the same time.

“I lied to my sister,” she started as she finally sat on the edge of her bed.

“About…?” He trailed.

“That I had a boyfriend. I only did it so she would stop setting me up with all these guys she knew. I thought my plan would work,” she continued.

Cody hummed, following along with her story with his eyes closed. “I remember you told me that. So, what’s the problem?"

"The idiot decided to surprise me by coming into town without any warning! Now she’s on her way here, because not only does she miss me, but also because she wants to meet my boyfriend of two months…” she trailed for a second, silently praying Cody would agree to the favor she was about to ask him. “So, I was hoping if you could come over and play the part.”

Cody’s eyes flew wide open. He heard what she said but he still had a hard time believing it. “Come again?” He asked, needing confirmation.

“I need you to be my fake boyfriend for my sister,” she explained as she fiddled with the hem of her shirt nervously. “I promise you, I’ll get you a gift card for Chipotle that will last you for at least three months,” she bargained knowing Chipotle was Cody’s weakness.

Cody quickly sat up, “I’m getting in the shower right now and I’ll meet you at your place.”

Y/N smiled widely. “Seriously, you are the best. Thank you so much.”

“Hey, you know I’d do anything for you,” Cody smiled back even though she couldn’t see him. “What time will your sister get there?“

"She said she was about 2 hours away,” she answered.

“Alright, I’ll get there before she does,” he said as he walked into his bathroom. “Hey, Y/N?”

“Yeah?”

“Don’t forget the gift card,” Cody smiled as Y/N laughed.

How to squash metagaming

Metagaming is an inevitable challenge to face as a DM. Your players most likely have an INT score above 10 and are aware of common tropes and dangers the D&D world has to offer. On top of that, “table talk” and players coaching other players what to do in an encounter (often while they’re not there themselves) can spoil the suspense of a scene. Here are a few tricks I’ve picked up since beginning my campaign to mitigate metagaming and keep players at the edge of the couch.

Night Shift Notes

When players take the night off and have lookouts take turns keeping watch around the campfire, have the lookout roll Perception. Write what they see on a piece of paper. Be it good news, danger, or nothing out of the ordinary, do this every time one character is visually or audibly checking something out on their own. It beats giving everyone in the party the same visual description simply because one of the PCs rolled high on Perception. Plus, it keeps things moving if you’re managing many party-splitting players at once.

It’s also fun to leave things ambiguous for that lookout player. Describe sounds that could be tree branches scraping against the window, that could be nothing, but it could also be something… else. This trick may have varying effects, depending on what’s going on in your story. But just like a good horror movie, the simple act of farming out mundane info to just one player can build suspense, and gives a single player a bit of the spotlight as they time-manage what they can do between what their senses can pick up and how fast they can alarm the others of what they think is happening.

Fog of War

Whenever the party explores a dungeon or dangerous area they’re unfamiliar with, try revealing fractions of your playmat at a time. I always show a 15x15 starting point, like the entrance to the dungeon, and show enough in that small space to tease the corridors the PCs can travel down, at the risk of stepping into the unknown.

You can also draw the map as you go, beginning with a blank canvas and taking your wet erase markers along the path as they explore it. To hint at what’s around the corner, be sure to have audible clues prepped in case someone is waiting before stepping into the next fraction of the map you’ve prepared.

WIS and CHA Saves

Sometimes a single player is experiencing a condition that removes the option of choice. Perhaps a PC has been charmed in secret, or was possessed while separated from the party. Similar to how I deal with lookout encounters, I write an “If… Then…” guideline to follow, otherwise I let them role-play as normal.

You’re under the effects of an enchantment spell. If you see one of the royal guard, you must alert them to your presence and the presence of your friends by any means necessary. You otherwise behave completely normal.

It’s as if you’ve taken on the hatred of someone, or something, that can’t stand the sight of the living. If you hear the sound of laughter or merriment, you must take steps to remove yourself from the area or attack the source of happiness. Whenever possible, find the local gravekeeper: you believe there’s unfinished business with him, though you’ve never seen or met him before.

Are there special steps you take to squash metagaming at your table? Let me know by reblogging and sharing your wisdom!

Do you think Bodhi Rook is religious?? I can't make up my mind.

The Empire is a prideful god. It will permit no higher authority than itself, no greater power than its armies, no eternity but its reign. (Those who might suggest otherwise are heretics, and are dealt with as idolaters must.) A militant kind of monotheism; there are no gods, there is no Force, there is just the Empire. There is only the Empire.

Bodhi had an aunt who—well, he was never entirely clear what, except that mother and father had stopped talking about her the same time the holo of the Emperor went up over the mantle. (His mother had cried in her room for weeks, and when Bodhi thinks of it he still tastes the charcoal of burnt rice, the awful tension of whispered arguments happening in other rooms.) But it had something to do with the clear, bright crystals she had sent them, because Bodhi’s father had gone room by room and scooped them up, shoved them in a box. Buried it under the floorboards.

No one was allowed to play Jedi and Separatists anymore. At least not where an adult would see, would go grey and gather all of them together in a tight circle, to say in a quiet voice, you can’t, don’t, stop.

(There are no Jedi anymore. There were never any Jedi. The Jedi never existed. How does the old adage go? The power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one’s mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them—)

Shykeli was thrown out of flight academy for meditating in secret. The administration had found ‘Jedi propaganda’ in her things, though they’d never really explained what that was, or what it meant. If the Force isn’t real, Cregha had said thoughtfully, why are they so scared of people venerating it?

Cregha was reassigned to skiffs soon after. Bodhi missed xir.

But after Galen gives him the message, Galen cups Bodhi’s face, tucks Bodhi’s hair behind his ears. Galen says, May the Force be with you.

“My auntie had—she gave us crystals like that,” Bodhi blurts out in Jyn’s vague direction, because he’s had may the force may the force looping through his head for a standard week; he can’t figure out why it won’t stop.

Jyn glances at him sidelong, still playing with the bright, clear crystal on the cord around her neck. It catches artificial light like something not artificial at all, more real than anything Bodhi has seen.

“It’s a kyber crystal,” Chirrut says into the awkward silence. “A conduit of the Force. Your aunt must have been a believer.”

“My father hid them,” Bodhi says absently. (may the force may the force…) “He didn’t want us attracting attention.”

“Smart man,” Baze offers, and then they are all silent again, waiting for Cassian to return.

(This is what Bodhi Rook thinks of in his last moments: of crystals, and the Force invisible but omnipresent; of being smart versus being good, and sending a message out into space, not knowing if anyone is listening.

His last words are for Galen. His last thoughts are for the aunt he did not know. If perhaps—)

Had I not seen you with my own eyes, how would I have ever believed you to be real? But you were real, weren’t you? Right now I find that as much as I had doubted the good nature of humans before I met you, I am starting to doubt the reality of your existence entirely. You have been out of my life for such a prolonged period of time that I have developed a need to question my memory about the day I found out about you. To forget my soul’s rejoicing about your living in the same timeframe as I do. To forget my soul entirely.

Surely, light could not have flown from your body in whirling waves of golden when I first saw you. It’s all in my head, right? There could not have been this greater quiescence in my mind that is habitually ridden with constant contemplations. Your smile must have been one of politeness, not one designed by the instant and total infatuation that took a hold of me; that made me feel grander and braver than I had ever been. I must ask myself, did I factually feel grander and braver? Was it love at all that caused the sensation? Or was it simply my resignation in despair that silenced every aggravation; every shard of anxiety in my being. That is after all how you first encountered me.

Think of it. How rare and peculiar – how unlikely – it is to find someone embodying light; advocating the voice of hope in times of solemn need. Someone who annihilates every flesh eating demon and strengthens the spirit with long forgotten vigor. With an unknown determination to burst out in the same cleansing incandescence. All to defend what’s good and righteous in the world; to protect the last angel who makes the world holy. How the cynic trembles when returning to the lost core of idealism. Ah, I must remind myself. When things are too good to be true, they usually are too good to be true.

Dare I still believe in our fairy tale I would now recall how I had first seen you in a juvenile feverish dream. How I had noticed that I always heard your voice inside my head whenever I read feminine spoken parts of stories. How it felt to be the center of gravity when I met you, feeling everything that naturally belonged violently smash back into me. A vast contracting of the boundless possibilities of every known and unknown galaxy, that would burst out into one universal truth. There I was one, and a part of you. As you were a part of me. As we had always been. As we had always meant to be. How can I keep the memory of such a powerful sense of belonging? Of knowing.

I cannot. Though letting go is an act of great reluctance. Had I not sought you all my life, it would have been easier to accept your existence; to accept there is one sheer magical being out there that befits me to perfection. A being that I likewise befit to perfection. No, I have no choice, I must doubt your reality to the point of forgetting. I must doubt every remnant of love, magic, and anything that makes life extraordinary that has remained in my recollection. How would I otherwise be able to live on, knowing that we are squandering our lives apart from each other?

I must accept that the fairy tale part of life is over. That we aren’t at that part of the romance novel where we struggle but realize we were always meant for each other. We are long past the last chapter. It is time for life and love to become normal. We weren’t destined to rival the works of greatest passion. We weren’t meant to love so madly that aeons from now the poets would write about us. We weren’t meant to. And I must forget that we could have.
