music that makes my life

The thing with music is that it comes easy then becomes really hard then comes easy again. Sometimes I sit there for dozens of days and nothing comes out and other times I’m there for only ten minutes and music comes out.
I spent close to half my life making music, you’d think it’d get tiring but while living my 24 years there hasn’t been anything else I’ve been as passionate for. (cr.)

that one moment you just know a movie has such an impact on you. just the music, the actors, the scenery, story, everything. when you feel chills and know that this movie means something to you. to feel so blessed that you are able to witness it for the first time, and then feel the same way every time you see it. it never gets old, it never goes out of style, it’ll always be the masterpiece you know it is. its one of the best feelings ever.

Night time in the southern countryside is weird.

Most nights are pretty quiet. In the summer there are cicadas and tree frogs, and in the winter you can listen to the rustle of wings as flocks of birds that have migrated from the north fly overhead, or the soft hoot of an owl.

But sometimes a dog will start to howl or bark and then more join them and you’d swear there’s a dog behind every damn tree even though you’ve never seen any around before.

Then there are the nights where you hear gunshots in the distance and you tell yourself it’s just hunters, but you lock your doors anyway.

Or there are those nights where you hear screams and you know it must just be owls, but you find yourself loading the shotgun just in case.

And when you hear someone yelling in the distance even though you know you’re miles away from anyone else, and you can just make out that they’re calling someone’s name but you’re too scared to yell back.

The worst, though, are those nights when you can hear distant music. You can never quite make out what it is, just bits of a melody. Sometimes a bassline. You’ll sit on your back porch straining your ears to hear it over the treefrogs, and you’ll have to resist the urge to go following it into the trees.

A cigarette that bears a lipstick’s traces
An airline ticket to romantic places
And still my heart has wings
These foolish things remind me of you

I never really liked the addition of music to the game, because most of the time the music doesn’t seem to fit. Like when the scene was in art class, but really creepy suspenseful music was playing. Ahh, nothing scarier than an art wheel.

look I love when girls cover ‘take me to church’ and don’t change the pronouns, but can we PLEASE stop saying that it somehow 'makes’ the song gay???? The song is about institutionalized homophobia. 'Take me to church’ has ALWAYS been gay, regardless of the gender of the singer. Saying that a female singer makes it gay completely erases the fact that it was never straight in the first place.
