Today is 3/11/12.  Today is a day to get down to the funky grooves and dope beats of 311.  Tonight is the second concert in Las Vegas to celebrate 311 on 3/11.  I’ve been a fan of the band since 1995 when I was introduced to their killer style through a crazy little aggressive inline skating video called Hoax II.  It featured 5 skaters in a Winnebago going cross country to skate with all the best at the time and it included three 311 songs.  That is how it began.

Now, after seeing over a 100 live shows in a dozen states, I’m attending my fifth 3/11 Day concert (they occur biennially) and I’m thrilled.  Here are some more live show photos from back in the late 90s.  Happy 3/11 Day and stay positive and love life!

Dreary Moon by Big Black Delta - I describe it as one of the most hauntingly beautiful and perfectly melancholy songs I’ve ever heard.

I’m in Vegas for the two-night-in-a-row 3-11 Day concerts and I’m super pumped.  My brother and other friends flew in from Indiana and my buddy and his girlfriend came with from L.A.

I decided to dust off some old photos from WAY back in the day (late 90s) when I used to get photo passes for the shows…  here are some of my fav black & white shots of the guys!

Erlend Øye - La Prima Estate

You’ll probably recognize Erlend as the lead singer from Kings of Convenience and Whitest Boy Alive

Another new song off the forthcoming Gaz Coombes album, Here Come The Bombs!
