Varg Vikernes smiling for the camera while receiving sentence.
In 1994, Vikernes born Kristian Vikernes (11 February 1973) was convicted of stabbing
his Mayhem bandmate Øystein Aarseth to death, known by his stage name Euronymous. Vikernes was further convicted of four counts of arson involving the burnings of historic churches, and was sentenced to 21 years in prison.
Vikernes was rumored to have been motivated both by paganism and theistic Satanism, but has denied he was ever a Satanist or has any belief in that God (or the Devil) exists.
Having served almost 16 years of a 21-year prison sentence, it was announced on 10 March 2009 that Vikernes would be released on parole. On 22 May 2009 Vikernes confirmed that he was released.
The response of serial killer, Richard Ramírez, when he got handed the death sentence. When asked by a reporter how he felt about the sentencing he replied with “No big deal, death always went with the territory… See you in Disneyland.”
During his trial, Ted Bundy became angry that he had not been given sufficient time to prepare for his defense. On the morning of his court date, he stuffed the lock of his jail cell with toilet paper so the jailers couldn’t open up the door, telling them that “I’ll be there when I feel like it!” He complained that his treatment at Dade County was unacceptable as he wasn’t allowed any exercise or time in the library. He began to list all of these offences to the judge, shaking his finger as he did so. Cowart was outraged: “Don’t shake your finger at me young man!” To which Bundy responded by pointing toward the defense team instead. “Good… You can shake it at Mr. Haggard.”
Home video footage of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer petting a cat. Despite the popular belief that Dahmer was heavily involved in animal cruelty at young age, he was in fact an animal lover. The pleasure that he received from dissecting animals was reserved for road kill or dead animals in the woods behind his home. The idea that he tortured animals is very unlikely considering his affection for the animals he kept as pets, instead his fascination with dissection was exclusively for the dead.
