The recent Vision Art Festival, held in the Swiss resort of Crans-Montana in Canton Valais, has taken the street art scene to new heights. A few years ago, a couple of young art enthusiasts from the region had a twisted idea to bring street artist to Swiss alps – on the lift stations, shelters, and restaurant buildings around the ski slopes. After last year’s “test event”, which produced a mural by Icy & Sot and Hebru Brantley, the local community accepted the idea and the long preparations begun. On August 24th, Vision Art Festival 2015 officially opened, hosting an impressive lineup of international artists: Chor Boogie, Reka One, Okuda, 2Alas, Greg Mike, Angry Woebots, Leza One, Rustam Qbic, Toz, Rodrigo Branco, Never Crew, and more.

Some guy called Seb Lester put up a mural in London (Salop Road, E17) over the weekend. Big calligraphy! Huge thanks to Lee at www.globalstreetart.com for making it happen, I couldn’t have done it without him. Big thanks to Johann Chan, www.johannchan.co.uk, for this short HD film. Music by Chris Read.

Iconic Roy Lichtenstein Mural Resurrected Then Destroyed Again
The Roy Lichtenstein Foundation, in collaboration with Gagosian New York has announced a rare public re-creation display of "Roy Lichtenstein: Greene Street Mural.” The artwork was created in December 1983 by Lichtenstein as an unprecedented, site-specific, and temporary wall painting measuring 18' × 96 1/2' at the Castelli Gallery at 142 Greene Street. In accordance with Lichtenstein's intention, the work was destroyed after the six-week show. More than thirty years later, Gagosian will present to a new generation of viewers a full-scale painted replica of the original work, based on documentation from Lichtenstein's studio and produced under the supervision of his former studio assistant. In keeping with the momentous spirit of the original project, the replica will be destroyed at the close of the exhibition.
