People are Fascinated by Rhode Island Lighthouses

Rhode Island has somewhere around 400 miles of coastline, so it is no wonder that there are many lighthouses associated with the state. Combine the natural resource of Narragansett Bay, ready access to the Atlantic Ocean and one of the deepest natural entries in the United States, there is a natural need for navigational aids such as lighthouses.

At Made From RI, we often question whether there is something beyond the utilitarian necessity of lighthouses. It is said that a lighthouse can symbolize salvation and safety, especially in the face of adversity. That symbolic meaning sounds a lot like the definition of the Rhode State Motto: “Hope”.

So, in consideration of seeing a mug as the manner in which most people start their days, Made From RI would like to suggest that beginning a day with one of these mugs is to start a day with Hope. Don’t you agree?
