Sweet Silver Bells
“Mabel!” Dipper hissed into his phone. “You just stole my date!”
Dipper’s breath clouded in front of him, a wool hat pulled low over his ears and flattening his bangs over his birthmark. He had to lean against the wall of the skating rink, unsteady on his skates as people tottered by him. He could hear the constant shush shush of skates gliding across the ice behind him. Carol of the Bells blasted over the overhead sound system, silver bells tinkling loud and clear in the freezing air.
“Correction, bro-bro,” Mabel sang back through the phone. “Paz is my girlfriend and she was only your date because I was gone, but now I’m back!”
