Dwight William Tryon was an American landscape painter in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Initially influenced by Hudson River School idealised realism, his work came to be influenced by James McNeill Whistler, and after experiments with Impressionism became best known for his mature landscapes and seascapes painted in a tonalist style.
