Happy Coast Guard Day!

A 44’ Motor Lifeboat, formerly the workhorse of the Coast Guard’s boat fleet, shows its mettle in "SHIPS OF THE COAST GUARD“ from the series: Moving Images Relating to Coast Guard Activities, 1967 - 1992

The precursor to the Coast Guard, the United States Revenue Cutter Service, was established under the Department of Treasury by  Alexander Hamilton on August 4, 1790.
