most of the blame lies on

Child abusers don’t let children know they’re victims. Survivors of child abuse by large don’t know they’ve been abused. Abusive parents raise the child to have great compassion for them, to always view them as humane as possible, they make sure children are grateful to them, they point out every single thing they did for the child, such as “paid for your stuff” or “financed your schooling” or “gave you a roof over your head and fed you all these years” (even though to not do these things would be straight illegal, but they don’t mention that part, do they) as a proof of how good and generous they are, they make sure to recite all possible excuses to why they’re acting so abusive, they had a hard life, they have a lot on their plate, they’re good people they just make mistakes, they’ve been badly treated too, they don’t even know they’re hurting you, they’re insisting you’re too sensitive and get hurt from nothing, they don’t let the child hold them accountable or hold them guilty for any of their abuse. Abused child will be ashamed of themselves and hardly ever consider themselves a victim, they will be taught to repress and ignore trauma symptoms, to find a way to blame themselves for everything, to feel guilty just for how awful they feel all the time.

Emotionally abused child strongly believes that their parent is inherently good and deserves all the compassion in the world, all the excuses, all forgiveness and none of the blame for their actions (parents make sure children know that the blame would hurt them so children must never blame them) and will fight to defend the parent and point out why abuse was not really abuse, why children deserved it, why nobody is to blame, except maybe themselves, because “they weren’t good enough” to appease the parent which would then hopefully be a bit more kind (of course not). They often wont even admit how badly they’re scared of their parents.

To have an abused child realize they’ve been exploited, lied to, betrayed, systematically destroyed and dehumanized by their parent, their entire world needs to break down, everything they’ve been taught has to be acknowledged as a lie, what they considered right and fair needs to change to wrong, who they trusted the most needs to change to be least trust-worthy, who in their head, made sure they survive up to that point, needs to turn into a person who almost cost them their life, and destroyed it rather than held it safe. It’s not a fun ride. It’s devastating to go through, it breaks a person apart completely and forces them to re-construct their entire reality. And it’s the only way to have a chance to really recover, to validate themselves and their pain, to understand to what depth they’ve been damaged, and by who and why. It’s the only way to realize that they’re entitled to life, to food, to roof, to nurturing, to everything that was held against them, they’ve been required to feel grateful that they weren’t left to die.

For those who still have to face this, or are facing it right now, you are going through the worst of your life right now. For those who have no empathy or patience for survivors to figure their lives out, fuck you, try living their life for a few years, see if you survive it. For abusers, I hope someone figures out how to force you to feel every single bit of pain you’ve inflicted on your children, I hope you fucking scream yourself to death from pain you’ve caused.

anonymous asked:

what's your thoughts on people who lose that spark in their relationship?

Ok so someone once sent this to me and it makes sense to me, pretty much explains it:

Every relationship has a cycle… In the beginning; you fall in love with your partner. You anticipate their calls, want their touch, and like their idiosyncrasies. Falling in love wasn’t hard. In fact, it was a completely natural and a spontaneous experience. You didn’t have to DO anything. That’s why it’s called “falling” in love.

People in love sometimes say, “I was swept of my feet.” Picture the expression. It implies that you were just standing there; doing nothing, and then something happened TO YOU.

Falling in love is a passive and spontaneous experience. But after a few months or years of being together, the euphoria of love fades. It’s a natural cycle of EVERY relationship.

Slowly but surely, phone calls become a bother (if they come at all), touch is not always welcome (when it happens), and your spouse’s idiosyncrasies, instead of being cute, drive you nuts. The symptoms of this stage vary with every relationship; you will notice a dramatic difference between the initial stage when you were in love and a much duller or even angry subsequent stage.

At this point, you and/or your partner might start asking, “Am I with the right person?” And as you reflect on the euphoria of the love you once had, you may begin to desire that experience with someone else. This is when relationships breakdown.

The key to succeeding in a relationship is not finding the right person; it’s learning to love the person you found.

People blame their partners for their unhappiness and look outside for fulfillment. Extramarital fulfillment comes in all shapes and sizes.
Infidelity is the most common. But sometimes people turn to work, a hobby, friendship, excessive TV, or abusive substances. But the answer to this dilemma does NOT lie outside your relationship. It lies within it.
I’m not saying that you couldn’t fall in love with someone else. You could. And TEMPORARILY you’d feel better. But you’d be in the same situation a few years later.

Because (listen carefully to this):
The key to succeeding in a Relationship is not finding the right person; it’s learning to love the Person you found.

SUSTAINING love is not a passive or spontaneous experience. You have to work on it day in and day out. It takes time, effort, and energy. And most importantly, it demands WISDOM. You have to know WHAT TO DO to make it work. Make no mistake about it.
Love is NOT a mystery. There are specific things you can do (with or without your partner), Just as there are physical laws Of the universe (such as gravity), there are also laws for relationships. If you know how to apply these laws, the results are predictable.

Love is therefore a “decision”. Not just a feeling.

I’m so incredibly grateful for all the love I got on my latest fanfic! You guys liked it and wanted another chapter so I’m back baby! Enjoy it my beautiful love bugs!
Betty tucked a loose strand of honey blonde hair behind her ear, adjusting her cheerleading uniform and throwing her bag over her shoulder as she started on her walk home. She took a deep breath and inhaled the fresh spring to summer air as the sky drizzled, sunshowers were here absolute favorite thing in the world, it was almost as if the universe was saying, even sunshine needs to cry sometimes. Betty brought her fingers up to her face, wincing as she touched a particularly nasty bruise under her eye, the wet mist was washing away her makeup and leaving the evidence of chucks anger visible for all to see.

He had been so angry last night when he found out the jacket was gone, his default was to blame her and as hard as she lied and tried to deny it, he wouldn’t stop hitting her, wouldn’t stop screaming at her, calling her the most disgusting names.

Of course she wanted to leave him, who would want to stay in a relationship like this? When she was younger she had always dreamed of falling in love, finding someone who loved her for all she was, she had written endless pages about it in her diary. Unfortunately, it hadn’t worked out that way, Chuck had hunted her down, he had chosen her because she was pretty, because she was easy prey, and she had fallen for it. He spewed lies about the cheerleader and the quarterback, that they were meant to be, the pretty words and secret kisses had only lasted so long before the real Chuck had shown up. So yeah, she wanted to leave him, wanted to run away, but she couldn’t. She was too scared and she was too weak, his threats always echoing in her mind.

“If you leave me, I’ll kill you. Who are you going to run too? Your parents? Please. They’d laugh in your face, tell you you deserved it.” He would spit, and he was right, her parents were fully aware of the way the football player treated their daughter but they did nothing to stop it.

Betty could still remember the first time she had come home with a black eye from Chuck, she woke up the next morning to a tube of concealer and a note from her mother

“Please ice the bruise, you have homecoming next week and it would be unseemly to have a swollen eye in your pictures. Next time, just keep quiet.”

Betty laughed bitterly at the memory
“And don’t forget to pick up your medication Elizabeth.” She mocked, drawing her fingernails into her palms.

“You talking to the voices inside your head?”

Betty whipped around at the teasing voice and felt her heart stop at the sight of Jughead Jones standing casually against a trash can in the middle of the park.

“Jughead! What are you doing here?” She asked, a smile tugging on her lips.

He shrugged, moving closer to her.
“I was in the neighborhood, saw you walking all alone. Don’t you know there’s a turf war going on little lady?” He smirked before his entire face fell at the sight of the swollen bruise on her eye.

“That fucker did this to you?” He asked lowly, his eyes dangerous.

Betty reached a hand to her eye before dropping it, she had given up

“He was angry with me. I should have known he would be, I shouldn’t have even been near him..” she was cut off by Jugheads slender, rough fingers gently stroking the darkening skin.

“It’s not your fault. He’s sick, and he’ll get what’s coming to him. I can promise you that.” He growled, his face a breath away from hers. His eyes were intense as he whispered “how could anyone do this to you? Of all the people in the world, you.” He whispered, his voice sounded foreign even to himself, hoarse and angry.

Betty smiled sadly, dropping her forehead to Jugheads, he was practically a stranger, she definitely didn’t know him well enough to be this close to him, but beside him, his hands on her waist, she felt safer than she had her entire life.

“I’m really not that special.” She whispered.

Jughead pulled away, cupping her chin with his fingers

“That’s where you’re wrong Betty Cooper, you’re the most special person I’ve ever met.” He smiled crookedly as he pulled away, swinging an arm over her shoulder.

Betty laughed at the lazy way he strut through town, she asked about the Serpents, he asked about her uniform, she told him about Veronica and he told her about Keith. When they finally arrived at Betty’s front porch Betty was out of breath from laughing so hard and Jugheads cheeks ached from the constant smiling.

Walking her to her front porch, something shifted in the beautiful blondes eyes

“What’s the matter angel?” He asked concerned, the nickname rolling off his tongue.

“If Chuck sees you… he’ll kill you.. I shouldn’t have put you in this position.. I’m so sorry .. I…” Jughead cut her off as he clutched her hands

“Don’t you worry about me, I’ve got my boys surveying these streets. They seem to have taking quite a liking to you, im not the only one who has Chuck in my sights.” He reassured her.

Betty still looked skeptical but he took comfort in the way her shoulders relaxed slightly. She raised a palm to his cheek and rested it there, her fingers gently stroking the space beside his ear

“Thanks for walking me home. I’ll see you soon?” She asked.

Jughead nodded with a smirk, popping the collar of his leather jacket and raising a brow

“You got it Juliet.”

With one last glance at the dark haired boy Betty closed her front door, leaning her back against it and smiling.

Jughead walked the dark streets of Riverdale, his hand coming up to touch the space that Betty had rested her hand, he smiled.

Oh Chuck was definitely going down.

hey u ever think about how the real tragedy of the last of us is ultimately….it was meaningless. at least from ellie’s point of view - all those people that died, riley and marlene (most notably) and countless others just to further her and joel’s journey.

and at the end of the day she doesn’t even have joel. she doesn’t even get that because she knows he lied, she knows that even though he made that decision the blame is not entirely his, it never can be.

the things they did, the terrible terrible violence she inflicted wasn’t worth anything - there was no payoff, no redemption. she’s just stuck now, stuck with the things she’s done and the knowledge that she might’ve become someone she never wanted to be. her and joel’s relationship is a sliding scale, they both move closer to each other as ellie redeems him and he corrupts her. it cost ellie everything, and it cost joel nothing. because in his eyes it was worth it. and in her eyes, it never will be.

I’m getting too many posts on my dashboard these days about how “Sora is the perfect angel, he never does anything wrong.!” “Terra is such a screw-up, wasn’t it obvious he was being manipulated…”

You want a chart? I’ll make a chart. I’ll fucking do it. EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER HAS AN UPSIDE AND A DOWNSIDE. No one is inherently perfect, no one is a total fuck-up. Everyone did something WRONG, everyone did something RIGHT.

  • Very devoted to helping others
  • Fun-loving attitude, the “upbeat” guy
  • Adventurous and out-going

  • Super-trusting of most things he hears (can often lead to being tricked)
  • Arrogant towards those he dislikes or disagrees with
  • Oblivious and doesn’t often connect the dots
  • VERY reckless

“Whoa, whoa, Storm, you can’t just bash Sora like-” OH YES I CAN, THIS CHILD HAS FUCKED UP QUITE A LOT. Even if it’s not on the same scale as others, Sora has made a number of mistakes that people tend to ignore because they wanna see their precious sunshine boy for the perfection that he isn’t.

Examples? GLADLY! How ‘bout the time Sora just TRUSTED Hades when he handed him the pass to enter the Games? (KH1)

Not convincing enough? Okay, what about when he was going to just jump into the Portal of Darkness, after seeing Saix, despite possible repercussions? (KH2)

STILL? He hardly bothered to listen to the Organization members (Xigbar, for instance, or Demyx) when they talked to him, just telling them to quit rambling or cut the act of having a heart. If he had LISTENED, he might’ve learned about Roxas or the previous Keyblade wielders SOONER! (KH2)

DON’T EVEN MAKE ME DIP INTO WHAT THEY DID IN DREAM DROP DISTANCE, that child lost ALL sense of self-preservation in that game and seriously couldn’t figure out he was being manipulated.

“Okay then… What about Terra?”

Terra. Did not. Fuck up. That badly. Everyone says Terra is a screw up and he did everything wrong. He didn’t realize he was being manipulated and he’s stupid for that.

No, it’s okay. I’ll give benefit of a doubt. Let’s just…

  • Thoughtful to his friends and those he cares for
  • Loyal to his duties as a Keyblade wielder
  • Takes most things said to heart

  • Takes most things said to heart (he believes people’s first words too easily, even blatant lies)
  • Easily manipulated via threats towards those he cares about
  • Insecure about his strength and abilities, another source of manipulation
  • VERY gullible (we all know that) but not to an extent that he didn’t care for his own well-being or others

“Storm, you make a compelling argument but Terra still was-” Look, Terra definitely screwed up, but people are blaming TERRA for what happened more than Xehanort’s manipulative ways.

Xehanort danced around Eraqus, was setting up Ventus to be a pawn, ready to kill Aqua if she got in the way. Terra was just another piece of this big plan. Yet he’s assigned quite a lot of the blame.

This all is setting up to draw PARALLELS between Terra and Sora. The two were easily manipulated, often could be reckless, but in the end, just aimed to help the people they cared for.

Sora is often put out to be this huge savior of all people while Terra is drawn to be the unwilling cause of most situations. But how can they be so different when their upsides and downsides are so identical?

I.E., Terra didn’t screw up as badly as you think. He was actually doing really well. And Sora isn’t the perfect person. He’s messed up as much as anybody.

It had been a year since you had really seen the majority of the other men. Quite a lot had happened during this period of time. The most important being that you and Minseok had gotten married, it was arguably the best thing that happened to you in life. Your parents were extremely confused when you suddenly introduced him to them. You had lied saying you had met him at your new workplace. To say they weren’t happy was an understatement. Their daughter had gone missing for a couple of months and all of a sudden she wanted to get married it all seemed slightly rushed, and you couldn’t blame them because it’s true, it was rushed, but you had never been so sure of anything in your life and you were not backing down so eventually they had to accept what you wanted. It’s not that they didn’t like Minseok; they always stated that he seemed a ‘nice enough bloke’ but the whole concept of marriage at the age of 23 didn’t sit well with them, but truthfully you couldn’t be happier. Minseok made you extremely happy and that’s all that really mattered at the end of the day. You had been married for just under two months now; you lived in a cute cosy house in a quiet area. You had accessed your savings from your job before you entered that mad house, on top of that you were both earning enough in order to live comfortably, it was nothing too fancy, but it was something that you both liked and it was home. After the life you’d lived last year silence was the only thing you craved and so did Minseok. He was glad that he could finally call you his. He never went a day without reminding you that you belonged to him and he was so glad that you had given him a new start. You went to Church with him every Sunday and visited the graves of his parent’s right after the service. It had become routine and it put the both of you at peace. It was weird visiting the place Minseok had opened up to you weekly, only this time around you were his wife and he loved you more than he could possibly put into words.
The wedding that the two of you had had was small. Really small. The only guests present were your parents, Mia, Chanyeol and Sehun. The rest of the boys didn’t make it and apparently Minseok said that they had reasons for it, but you still weren’t too sure what those ‘reasons’ were. Quite frankly you thought that their absences were rude, especially Baekhyun’s but you learnt to push your hurt away into the deepest darkest corner of your mind, just like all the other hurtful memories you had accumulated over the time you’d spent in that house.

You had caught up with Chanyeol once or twice, but not as much as you would have expected to, partly because you were now a married woman and because Chanyeol had started dating. Since you were trying to get your lives on track, Chanyeol had gotten a new job at an elementary school as an assistant teacher and had fallen head over heels for one of his colleagues. You were so happy for him because he was an absolute sweetheart and he deserved all the happiness he could get in life. You knew that if it hadn’t been for you loving Minseok maybe it could’ve been Chanyeol he was the most caring man you’d ever met and so his happiness meant that you were happy. As for Sehun you would see him the most, he was still practically joint at the hip to Minseok, always visiting your home. But he had slowed it down a bit after you had gotten married, he realised that the both of you needed ‘time’ to yourselves.

You heard through the grapevine that Junmyeon was married however you and Minseok couldn’t make it as you were on your honeymoon, why he scheduled the wedding at that time you didn’t know. Honestly you were slightly displeased with him because there was nothing more you wanted to see than Junmyeon happy, especially since the last time you had seen him when he tried to burn all of you alive, he was an utter wreck, you just hoped that whoever she was she was treating him right and loved him unconditionally because that’s all these broken men needed. They needed something like what you and Minseok had, because honestly it was intense and special.
You and Minseok had been living a pretty comfortable life and for the most part you were extremely happy, but lately he had been coming home pretty late, he always seemed somewhat tired and flushed and you couldn’t help but think there was someone else. You had only been married two months, was he getting bored of you already, maybe he realised that you weren’t what he wanted? Maybe he only needed you to break down his walls and that was it. You tried shaking the thought from your mind multiple times, ignoring his late returns but it kept creeping back to the forefront of your brain, until one night when the both of you were in bed relaxing, you‘d decided that you’d had enough of it.

“Min…” You wavered slightly, wondering if you should ask him the question, surely he was innocent and you were just overreacting, you didn’t want to hurt his feelings and start an unnecessary argument.

“Mmm?” He was focused on the tablet that he was holding in his hand, scrolling through the dozens of emails he’d received earlier in the day. For some reason this got you angry, he wouldn’t even focus his full attention on you even when he spent less and less time with you. You weren’t a clingy woman, but Minseok’s behaviour was slowly spiralling downwards and there was only so much that you would allow yourself to take.

“Where do you go so late at night?” You spat the question out, your voice laced with venom. Minseok frowned, placing his tablet down on the bedside table and turned his head to look at you.

“Babe…what? When I get home you’re already asleep.”He answered, you knew Minseok well and you could already sense a lie in whatever ‘version of truth’ he thought he was telling you.

“No! Don’t give me that shit Minseok! Don’t act like you just come in right after I fall asleep because you sure as heck don’t! Do you have any idea how long I wait up for you?! You slip into bed at like 3AM and think I don’t notice. You’re supposed to be my husband Min; you’re supposed to be loyal.”

“No, babe. I promise you it’s not what it looks like. I want to tell you but I can’t…” He shook his head, lightly taking your hand in his, but you pulled away.

“No Minseok! This isn’t okay. Why can’t you tell me where you’re going then, doesn’t that sound dodgy to you? We’ve been married only two months Min. Two months. And you’re already screwing other girls. We waited until marriage Minseok; you shouldn’t be bored of me already! What am I doing so wrong? Am I not satisfying enough?” You didn’t even realise the involuntary tears rolling down your cheek until a tear splashed onto your hand.

“Babe, no, stop it. Of course you’re enough for me; you’re enough and so much more.”

“Then why won’t you tell me where the fuck you go Kim Minseok!”
You had enough of the sweet talk and your body was shaking violently, you thought you meant more to him than this. Everything was going swimmingly well, why did he have to do this to you when you were putting your everything into this marriage.

“Y/N if I tell you, then you’ll be mad at me, life will spiral downhill again and we won’t be happy! Is that what you want?!”
Why was he twisting this on you, as though it was your fault that he was returning home early hours of the morning, cheaters always do have a way of making the innocent party look guilty, but you weren’t going to let him win.

Just as you were about to give him a piece of your mind. You heard the front door knock. The both of you froze, turning your heads to the direction that the knock was coming from. It was 3AM; who could be possibly knocking at this time. You frowned rising from the bed.

“No Y/N, don’t get that.” Minseok reached over to your side of the bed grabbing your wrist, but you pulled it out of his grip and advanced out of the room.

“Why, are you scared it’s the whore you’ve been fucking? Scared that she followed you home Min? That you’ll be exposed?” You laughed sarcastically and coldly not turning back to look at him. “I swear if it’s Melanie I’ll kill her with my bare hands.”

You walked over to the front door of your house swinging it open and talking faster than your brain could think.

“I don’t know what the fuck you think you’re doing here but he’s married, so you can sling your hoo—What? Yixing?”
You paused staring at him. You were stunned to say the least and let out a breath that you didn’t even know you were holding, it had been a year since you’d seen him and although you no longer felt anything towards him even remotely, you had to admit that he looked more handsome than he did before.

“Y/N.” He smiled at you softly, his dimples making a subtle appearance. You had to admit that you had missed him a little bit and it was somewhat comforting to see him again and know he was okay.
“It’s been forever…you look…good.” He gave you a quick once over and you remembered you were wearing a satin crimson pyjama dress that Minseok had bought you not too long ago, making you cringe with embarrassment, you tried to cover yourself as best you could with your arms.

“You look good too.” You said back quietly. “But what are you doing at my house at this time of the day? It’s 3AM.”

“Actually I need to speak to Minseok, he’s in right?” He pushed past you softly walking into the open planned living room/ kitchen.

“Y/N, Y/N. I told you not to open the door…” You heard Minseok’s voice in the distance gradually getting louder the closer he got to where you were stood. “Leave it and come back to bed, God knows who—Yixing?” Minseok’s eyes opened widely for a second or two, then returned his gaze back to normal. “What are you doing here Yixing?” He bit his lip nervously. What was going on, and why wasn’t Minseok as stunned as you to see Yixing when you both hadn’t seen him in a whole year.

“Min, it’s Luhan.” Yixing frowned.

“He’s alive. He’s Back.”

I hesitated, I didn’t want to open it because I was terrified of what I was about to read, but I wanted to rip it out of it’s envelope because it might just tell me where she was.

I slowly took the letter out and began to read:

“Hey my cutest one and only Koala bear, whom I love so dearly with all my heart. If you’re reading this then I’m no longer around anymore, and it really does suck so bad because I really wanted to stay for so much longer, like you wouldn’t even understand how much I wished I could stay. But everything happens for a reason right? Just like you’ve always told me. But anyway, I couldn’t stay and for that I apologise. I didn’t get the chance to say goodbye and it’s my own fault that I didn’t get to, I was selfish and I’m sorry, because of me you never got to say goodbye either.

You know how I’ve always hated saying goodbye, because a goodbye never confirmed another hello. That’s why I always said see you later, because the possibility of being able to see you again was always there, and it was the same this time. I was scared that if I actually said goodbye, then it would really be goodbye, if I said goodbye then I confirmed to myself that I never get to see you again. I was so scared because I hated having that thought. But even though I never got to say it, I won’t be able to see you again anyway and I knew it in my heart that this fate was confirmed long ago. But still I never said it and I’m sorry.

I know what you’re thinking Jimin, it’s not your fault because you couldn’t make time to drop by so we could see each other one final time before your departure. It’s mine for not being able to get out to see you.

I never thought I’d get the chance to write a letter to you, and it’s kind of romantic right? (If you didn’t know I actually smiled writing that). I knew, I knew she smiled because it’s her sense of humour. Thank you Jimin, for always bringing out the best of me, thank you for being there when I needed you the most, thank you for being you and thank you for being an amazing partner, a lover, a boyfriend and just overall for being an amazing person that I could always rely on.

But I’m sorry I lied. I kept something away from you that I knew about for so long, something that I actually regret now that I never told you, when it’s already too late. But I don’t ever want you to blame yourself, promise me that you won’t blame yourself. Don’t blame yourself for not being there when I found out, don’t blame yourself for not noticing the changes and don’t blame yourself for not being here. Because baby it’s not your fault… I pinky swear…”

(To be continued…)

That wasn’t the end of the letter ~ the next part will be the end!! Request for Pt. 13.5

I have a theory..

A while back, during book 3, I came up with a theory, but since it was still pretty early into the Freshman/Sophomore series, it just looked like a coincidence I think not, but now that we’ve got 5 books, I’m starting to notice a pattern, and I can’t be the only one.

On the cover of book 1, we have Chris and MC. On the cover of book 2, we have MC by herself. On the cover of book 3, we have Kaitlyn and MC. Book 4 doesn’t matter right now cuz it was just an interlude. On the cover of book 5, we have Zig and MC.

I don’t think anyone has forgotten the cringeworthy “dispute” between Chris, Becca and our MC. Putting everything aside, we all know Chris is the one MC had the most trouble with in book 1.

Initially, I thought James was on the cover of book 2, why? idk, may have had something to do with that Christmas special. And since I thought it was James on the cover of book 2, I also thought James was the one MC had the most trouble with. My MC was dating James so therefor his storyline was more present and interesting to me lmao. But I still clearly remember MC getting blamed by Kaitlyn for outing herself. Tbh I don’t quite remember why Chris and MC were fighting but it happened.

I’m sure we can all still remember the fights with Kaitlyn and her band in book 3. Like I don’t even need to explain this one, do I?

Like I mentioned above, book 4 doesn’t really matter, as it was just an interlude.

Now, book 5, there Zig and MC. Every time a LI was featured on the cover, MC’s relationship/friendship was tested to the point of breaking and to the point of me hating them but I digress. Taking everything said above into consideration, I fear for whatever is coming for Zig and MC.

So I am for the most part oblivious to this Joss Wheden issue. I read your post and the link about his wife. But from just these few things I am a bit confused as to what's wrong with him. I tried looking a bit more through some of your Buffy tags, but seemed to failed to find more. Apart from cheating on his wife, what makes this guy so bad and a Hyprocite on Feminism? Because I'm trying to relate Unfaithfulness to Anti-feminist or Hypocrite on Feminism.

This is a whole minefield I don’t have the time or particular inclination to delve into with great detail right now. But some high points to think about, which might help steer you in the right direction.

On the issue of fidelity, it’s not “just” that he cheated on his wife, or that he lied to her for fifteen years, or that he consistently manipulated her into believing the things he wanted her to believe, or that he used her as a prop to maintain the image he wanted to project to the world, or that in his letter to her he basically blamed the patriarchy for him being a spineless little toad who wanted to indulge his most base desires and maintain a facade all at the expense of someone he claimed to love. It’s not JUST the innumerable ways he used his wife for his own selfish purposes for close to two decades rather than be a decent human being and tell her the truth. LIKE THIS WOULDN’T BE ENOUGH. But she had sex with him under the trust that they were both engaged in a monogamous relationship. He wasn’t. He lied. She was not able to give informed consent. He stripped her of her bodily autonomy. Repeatedly. FOR FIFTEEN YEARS.

Women’s autonomy over their bodies seems to be a real problem for Joss, given how he treated Charisma Carpenter for having the audacity to become pregnant.

But back to this new shit, there’s how, in his own words, he describes being a producer on Buffy. “I was surrounded by beautiful, needy, aggressive young women.” Joss was in charge. Joss was the boss of everyone involved in the production of this show. And he’s looking down from his position of power, likening himself to a hero or god in a Greek myth, at all the “needy” young women around him. And then he fucks them, which is all society’s fault, of course, certainly not Joss Whedon’s inability to not use women as literal props while he acts out his fantasies.

What part of any of this is NOT him being a hypocrite when he claims to be a feminist?

Princess of the Ark: Clarke Griffin’s Childhood and Emotional Advantages

Emori’s speech to Clarke about her pain was one of the best things I’ve seen all damn season, both acting wise (Luisa, give yourself a goddamn round of applause) and writing wise.  It cut to the core of Clarke’s character and highlighted the invisible advantages she has over other characters that she’s simply not aware of, and contrasted how differently Clarke’s pain plays out compared to someone like Emori, who has been doing this her whole life.

In Emori’s own words: I was cast out of my clan as an infant because of this.  I was forced to steal to survive, forced to kill. You were loved.  You were told you were special.  I was thrown away like someone’s garbage.  You know nothing of my pain.

What I really love about this is that it very subtly highlights the importance of Abby and Jake in Clarke’s upbringing.  It’s clear in the first Ark flashback that Clarke is adored and loved in addition to being economically privileged, and Jake even says you picked a fine time to start acting like a teenager, which implies this is really the first time she’s tested their relationship.  When she hallucinates Jake during Day Trip, he tells her what she needs to hear and holds her when she breaks down, and while he wasn’t real it does tell us that Clarke saw her relationship with her father as one of unconditional love and support.  Before she learns of Abby’s role in Jake’s death Clarke is looking forward to her coming to earth and she’s devastated when she thinks Abby died on the Exodus ship.  And even though things are rocky with them in season two– you may be the chancellor but I’m in charge and Abby’s horror at Clarke’s decision at TonDC– Abby is still the first person Clarke turns to for reassurance after Mount Weather.  After that, Clarke knows her mother will love her no matter what, and demonstrates the same to Abby after ALIE forced her to torture Clarke.  And if you still aren’t convinced of the depth of the Griffin ladies’ love for each other, that hug at the top of the episode should have convinced you.

And it’s that love that allows Clarke to be who she is; someone who is able to lead through love and trust.  One of Clarke’s core characteristics is her ability to extend trust to people who maybe haven’t earned it yet– first Bellamy, then Anya, then Murphy, and the list goes on and on– and that tells us so much about her.  She’s confident and secure right from day one, because, as Emori pointed out, she was told she was special.  And not in a “you’re the savior of the world,” way, but in the “you are important and you matter” way of loving parents to a child.  Clarke spent the first 16 years of her life loved and knowing she was loved, and that made all the difference.

Let’s contrast her upbringing with the lives of other people on the Ark that we know: Raven’s mother was a drunk who didn’t feed her enough, so Raven turned to the boy next door to protect her.  He did, and then he fell out of love with her while she was risking everything to save him.  Octavia literally spent her whole life caged, and while her mother and brother loved her they were also her jailers and that brings a whole new level of complication to their relationship.  Because to her, it probably didn’t feel unconditional– they loved her but so long as she pretended not to exist.  (Note: Bellamy’s love for her– and likely Aurora’s too– was unconditional on their end, but it didn’t feel that way to Octavia.)  Bellamy’s entire world revolved around loving someone else unconditionally and receiving what probably felt like little love in return, and from the age of six on his needs had to be put behind someone else.  Murphy’s father may have loved him, but he died for that love and Murphy’s mother put the blame for that on him.  And Emori, as we just learned, was forced into a life of violence and lies just to survive.

But Clark experienced none of that until she was approaching adulthood, so she meets her challenges with an unshakable truth in the back of her mind: there are people who love her no matter what.  She has a sense of inner worth, and even when she’s at her most broken, there’s still a voice in her head saying you can come home.  By the time she leaves in 216, Clarke has accepted that not only does her mother love her unconditionally but that Bellamy does too, because she loves him unconditionally and that sort of love comes to her pretty easily.  It’s what gives her the strength to leave, and it’s while it is momentarily shaken by Bellamy’s anger with her in 305 she’s back on solid ground with him by 313, and since then it’s been business as usual for them.

This belief in unconditional love is also what leads Clarke to tell Bellamy that he just needs to wait for Octavia’s forgiveness in 406, because after all, that’s what happened with her mom.  Clarke just needed time, but in the end, Abby was blood and forgiveness was inevitable. But what she doesn’t see is that it’s infinitely more complicated between Bellamy and Octavia, because both of them have always felt like their love for each other comes with a long list of terms and conditions.  (Again, note that I’m talking about how it feels for the Blake Siblings, not how it is.)  Octavia loves Bellamy back so long as he’s giving her freedom, but in his experience Octavia and freedom leads to terrible consequences, so he struggles with giving her that.  It’s what she wants, not what she needs, he thinks, and so when he gets scared he denies her that freedom even though in his mind that will cost him her love.  Better to have her safe than hurt, and if the price is Octavia’s hatred he’ll pay that.  And for Octavia, she perceives his love as conditional on her obedience, because she’s never been in the position he is in of loving someone and being so scared for them at the same time.  So she lashes out against him, which he sees as proof that she doesn’t love him in the same way.

But again, Clarke can’t see that because that is not a dynamic she’s ever experienced.  The fact that Emori honed in on love as an integral part of Clarke is really interesting, because Emori is basically a stranger to Clarke, but she is also a master at reading people.  And I do think that was a surprising moment for Clarke, because she’s long since come to terms with the role that her economic privilege played with other people, but she’s never once thought about the emotional advantages her childhood conferred.

Clarke is able to lead and make difficult decisions because deep down, she trusts that there are people who love her no matter what.  Someone like Bellamy doesn’t have that natural instinct to trust other people, because love for him always came with strings.  And that’s not to say that the things Clarke has seen and done and lost don’t weigh on her– they do, and so heavily I think she’s veering towards a bit of a breakdown– but that she has more emotional resilience because of the love she received as a child.  In short, Clarke is who she is because of Abby Griffin.

I loooved that pineapples on pizza bit. Can I send more prompts? 😂 Okay how about Draco eating a mouthful of ice cream for the first time and getting brain freeze then blaming it on Harry? 😁

Draco: How dare you disrespect me like that?

Harry: What do you mean?

Draco: I feel like I just took a stinging hex to the brain because you LIED to me.

Harry: When the hell did I lie?

Draco: I asked in simple words if ice cream was like frozen custard and you had the audacity to shrug your shoulder at me and lie.  You said, and I quote, “same thing” and they are most certainly not the same thing.  Frozen custard, with it’s high content of butterfat and egg yolk is much creamier than that frosty sugared milk you just made me eat.  Furthermore, frozen custard is NEVER that cold…That must have been, what? a full 4° colder than any custard I’ve ever eaten.  If you hadn’t left me so utterly unprepared for what I was trying to enjoy, I never would have gotten my brain frozen.  And while we’re on the subject…

Harry: You know, I can think of a couple ways to warm your mouth back up.

Draco: *blushes* Wha…What?

Harry: *sits his half-empty tea mug directly in front of Draco before walking away*

Draco: How. Dare. You. Disrespect. Me. Like. That?!

Good Enough || Clay Jensen

Clay Jense x Reader

This is my first ever imagine, though I’ve written stories before. So take it easy on me. This was not a request. Just a idea for a dabble bouncing around in my head.

You know Lainie doesn’t like you. Clay always insists she does, but you can see it in her eyes. That cautious fear that surfaces in her gaze when she realizes Clay has brought you over again.

You don’t blame her. She isn’t the first decent parent to find you questionable. She doesn’t know most of the stories about you are lies. She doesn’t know you only hang out with other questionable kids so you can avoid going home.

She doesn’t know how much you care about Clay, that you’d never hurt him.

It all comes to a head when they catch you in Clay’s bed this morning. You had snuck in countless times before, but this time Clay forgot to lock the door. You were tangled up together under the blankets, but your clothes were still on.

Thing is, Clay loves you, and he knows you hate to go home. Knows you love him too and feel safer squeezing into that single size bed of his. You love how playful he can be, how quirky he is, how he’s unapologetically true to himself. Like no one you’ve ever known.

And his heart, you love his heart. You have never known anyone more good and kind than Clay.

So when Clay tells you not to worry, he explained the situation to his parents- you believed him, but the dread in your heart knew this wasn’t over.

You were right. After eating over at the Jensen’s, you were clearing the table when Lainie stopped you. When she finally got you alone.

With a heavy sigh, she laid it all out there. Her concerns over your influence on Clay. Her fear things are moving too fast.

You know she’s worried you’re sleeping with Clay. Your heart sinks, because you wish you could reassure her you’re not, but you know your skin probably still smells of Clay from when you guys headed to your house after school to “study”.

Tony had cautioned you to go slow with Clay, because his experience level is different. But Clay loves you and you love him. You don’t regret any of it, but now you feel guilty.

Lainie isn’t rude or accusing, it’s fear you see in her eyes.

“I just don’t want to see him get hurt.” She explains.

Hurt by you, is what she doesn’t say. You nod slowly, numbly, your heart somewhere down in your stomach.

You manage to hold yourself together until Clay walks you home that night. Impulsively, part of you thinks you should just end it. The self-destructive part of you, but then he turns to you with that crooked grin, his hand still gently holding your own.

“Is everything ok? You’ve been really quiet since dinner.”

You stare into those soft blue eyes that have been the source of everything good in your silly little life lately and your throat tightens.

You rush against him before you can stop yourself, wrapping your arms around him.

Your face buries in his neck as tears burn your eyes. Maybe his mom is right, maybe you don’t deserve to be with someone like Clay. Maybe you would only ruin him.

“Hey, what’s wrong?” Clay questions, concern thick on his breath as he holds you back. His warm safe arms wound securely around you.

You hold on, remembering all the times he’s made you laugh. All his soft kisses that made you feel special. Every time he asked you if it was ok as if you were important enough to ask for permission. That stupid bike and his crooked grin.

Clutching him tighter, your heart raced. What the hell were you suppose to do…

The Grand Delusion : A love story written in Petyr Baelish head.

Back in season 6 Petyr revealed what he dreams about to Sansa.

And i found it kind of interesting, not because what he dreams about is that interesting or surprising but because on this show, people knowing what  you desire, makes your dream dangerous.

There has been a long list of characters who have had their dreams crushed : Cersei wanted her children on the throne, House Tyrell wanted to be part of the royal family, Sansa wanted to be Queen, Theon wanted to be a member of house Stark, Oberyn wanted justice for his murdered family. All of these characters were teased with their dreams coming true before their worlds came crashing down around them.

Now that Petyr’s are out, i think, it’s only a matter of time before his world comes crashing down around him.

And if it follows the same pattern as the others, then it should seem like Petyr is getting everything he’s ever dreamed of before it all gets ripped away and whats interesting about this is that they’ve already reviled how it’s going to happen.

By Sansa “betraying” Jon.

Let’s be real, Petyr didn’t hold Jon to account for anything in plans  but since returning Sansa to Winterfell, Jon has messed up all of Petyr plans.

It starts like this :

To me, it’s always seemed like he’s writing this epic tale of two lovers who will do anything to be together.

After witnessing Sansa strength in Kings Landing, everything she’s been through she managed to escape the vipers nest and still be a person, is really admirable. This is also where Petyrs delusional love story begins.

After making her a unknowing accomplice in Joffery’s murder by making her the poison mule, then he “saves” her and whisks her off to the vale. I think the point of them going to the Vale was other then getting rid of Lysa was to

A) “show” Sansa she’s not safe anywhere, not even with her family - although an insane aunt who holds a years long grudge against her mother wouldn’t be a safe place to begin with

B) to reiterate the fact that she’s not safe with anyone but him

But it’s also act two of the story of two lovers who will do anything to be together, even get rid of family members in their way.

He totally knew that Lysa was watching them when he kissed Sansa, he also knew that Lysa was crazy and would try something against Sansa or was it just a coincidence that he was there when she was almost pushed out the moon door ?

Again he makes Sansa his accomplice, by “saving” her again, an then having her lie to the lords of the Vale.

See aside from his grand delusions about love he’s also trying to make Sansa feel like she owes him for all these times he’s “saved” her but putting someone in danger and then taking credit for saving them isn’t really helping them, is it?

Even after her latest near death experience, Sansa’s strength in unwavering, she evolves and adapts like the true survivor she is, so what is someone like Petyr to do ? How do you make someone feel like you’re the only safe place they can turn to in a world full of monsters?

By giving her to the biggest monster of all.

Ramsey is the most vile character on this show and i know Sansa choose to marry him. I also know that the only reason she agreed was so that she could go home, after everything she’s been through, no one can blame her for wanting that. Petyr certainly didn’t. In fact he lied to her saying that if she played the game right she could control him, like Margery did to Joffery.

We as viewers of the show know thats not going to happen, just like we know he lied when he told Sansa he didn’t know what kind of monster Ramsey, the fact that Rasmey was such a monster is exactly why Petry choose him.

He was really hoping that Ramsey would finally be the one to break Sansa, he doesn’t need someone strong, he wants a shell that like Catelyn Tulley, someone who he could mold to be totally reliant on him, someone who CHOSE him (unlike her mother).

It’s seemed for awhile now that Petyr’s plans for the iron throne were going to start in the north and work there way south. But then the lords name Jon king and the easy route to the northern crown is ruined, once again unknowingly, by Jon. So that’s twice now that his time sensitive plan has been messed with so whats he to do?

Thus the Sansa will “betray” Jon plot is born.

That some fans think that Petry will still be able to play Sansa after all this and the things he’s confessed to, baffles me.

Confessing to Sansa some of the things he’s done in order to fufill his dreams is another power play, seeing as everyone who out lives their purpose in his plans dies - except of Lady Olenna Tyrell, which is no coincidence - it’s like he’s he’s taunting her with the truth that can never be proven and it also says that i could do anything i wanted to you and no one could keep you safe. He’s trying to prove he’s “all powerful” and that Sansa is powerless.

Unfortunately for Petyr, knowing all Sansa does about him makes her very will informed and knowing who your enemy is, is the first step in destroying them.

She’ll know that the lords crowing Jon wasn’t part of his plans, that it will make Jon a threat to him, which will put a target on Jon’s back. She knows that he’s going to try and drive them apart to serve his own purposes.

I know a lot of people except Sansa to “betray” Jon but i really think that he’ll be a much easier target for Petyr to manipulate. Not sure how it will go down but he’ll likely try and make Jon think Sansa is “betraying” him and that’s how they show us the betrayal plot line.

He’ll also likely try to be playing both of them at the same time, for Sansa, he’ll likely trying and convince her Jon’s going to sell her off in another marriage.

But i don’t think it will work. I don’t think that either of them will fall for it, everyone around them will and Sansa will bear all of the hate (not surprising) but her and Jon will remain true to each other.

And the third act of Petyrs delusional love story ends with him realizing all his dreams were for naught, while he bleeds out in the snow as the world continues on without him cause no one cares that he has died.

See, when you play the game of thrones, you win or you die but that’s not really an apt description, It should be :

When you play the game of thrones you win till you die.

hello ! :) sorry to bother you, but i recently watched a video on youtube titled "7 Reasons Christianity Is Bullsh*t", and while i am dubious about it, the maker of the video did bring up some interesting points that i hoped you'd be able to clear up. would it be alright if you watched it and gave your take on it? if not, i completely understand. thank you for your time.

Not a bother at all! There were a couple different options for that search result, so I’m not sure this is the same one, but I just watched the first video that came up which was this video here (if anyone else is interested in watching it, do be warned that there is profanity). The YouTuber packs a LOT of claims and statements in his video, so I won’t be able to hit every secondary point, but we’ll talk about the general overarching themes brought up in the main seven points. If there is anything I didn’t answer that you’ve got questions on or want more verse to back it up, just ask! The three major problems surrounding each point is a lack of context, a lack of understanding, and a double-standard.

1.) The absurdity of Yahweh
Here the YouTube makes the argument that God shouldn’t have to look like us. Well, he doesn’t always. The Bible says no one has seen the fullness of Father. We can’t even comprehend the fullness of His glory, we would die in His presence. Sometimes God took the form of a burning bush. Jesus took the form as a human when He came down to earth. Why? Because He had to be fully human and fully God in order to conquer death and pay the price.

He says, “Yahweh is primitive” because of the animal sacrifices. The point of animal sacrifices was to show us just how awful and disgusting and serious our sins are.

He says, “Yahweh is inept” because God didn’t magically dissipate sin. That is blaming the problem of sin on God instead of freewill; that is wanting God to be responsible for the sinful choices we make. God didn’t make a mistake, this isn’t Him trying to fix what He broke. This is man deviating from God’s will, and God offering a way of redemption. The alternative is either that we are robots, or that we suffer in the punishment we deserve for the choices we’ve made.

2.) Immorality
YouTuber is extremely confused about what God does and does not condone in the Bible; lack of context.

He makes a statement about how Jesus came to divide households and incorrectly interprets that as Jesus’ declaration of war. Have you read stories about Islamic people turning to Christianity? Their families often reject them, if not worse. It’s not that Jesus wants to divide families, but it will happen. And yes, God is absolutely supposed to come before family.

I think this is the part where he makes comments about God destroying cities and flooding the earth. Three things to remember about God’s wrath are…

  • God punishes the guilty
  • God is perfect and omniscient
  • God is rich in mercy, and always offers forgiveness and second chances to those who turn to Him

3.) Egocentric
He finds it unbelievable that humans are the focus of God’s affection.

You know, I don’t understand how everything is made up of atoms that are invisible to me, microscopic building blocks that I’ll never see with my own eyes, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s true. Just because we don’t understand something, or it seems wild, doesn’t make it untrue. God purposely created us. It makes sense that He would pay attention to something He loves.

4.) Science
He claims that science and faith are and have been at odds for centuries. Funny thing, Galileo is accredited as being the father of modern science and he said this, “God is known by nature in his works, and by doctrine in his revealed word.” Which ties in beautifully with Romans 1:20 where Paul writes, “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.” Many of history’s most famous and revolutionary scientists were spurred by their desire to know and understand God.

Furthermore, the YouTuber then proceeds to call scientific ideas like evolution and the Big Bang “fact” when there are many solid arguments against such.

5.) Inconsistency
Arguments exhibit a stark lack of context. There are explanations for each as, for 2000 years, people have been trying to prove the Bible as faulty and yet it still holds its merit. Also ignored is the fact that the Bible is the most historically accurate book we have, if we claim the Bible is historically faulty, than every other ancient documentation of history is void.

6.) Absurdity of scripture
He blames God’s wrath and righteousness on a lack of goodness.  With free will comes responsibility, and what we see here is the desire to do whatever we please without having to reap the consequences. God is just and cannot let sin go unpunished. We have broken God’s law, we are sinners, lies, thieves, murderers at heart, adulterers at heart, blasphemers, idolaters, we have rejected God and yet we expect His blessings? God’s goodness is found when He punishes the wicked, just like a good judge imprisons the criminals. Yet, God’s goodness is also revealed in the fact that He sent His son to die on a cross to take the punishment for our sins if only we believe. We cannot reject God’s gift of freedom while demanding release from our punishment at the same time. It doesn’t work that way.

He goes on to call Christians out for never reading the Bible they claim to revere, and I would absolutely agree. BROTHERS AND SISTERS THIS IS THE IMPACT WE ARE HAVING ON THE WORLD. We have the antidote for our soul, the Word of Life, and yet it sits and collects dust. IF WE HOLD THE SCRIPTURES AS DEAR AS WE CLAIM TO, IF THERE IS NOTHING IN THIS WORLD MORE PRECIOUS TO US, THEN WE NEED TO START ACTING LIKE IT. Our lack of respect for the Bible is shameful, and it is causing unbelievers to laugh in the face of God.

7.) Concept of the after life
Arguments can be boiled down to an altered perception on who gets to heaven and why. Like I previously stated, we cannot reject God and still expect His gift of mercy.

He starts ridiculing the idea of us being like robots in heaven but earlier in the video, he was rebuking God for not creating us as robots so that we would never sin. You can’t have it both ways, but we won’t be robots in Heaven either. And, the fact is, Heaven isn’t a place where we will just sit around singing all day. It’s eternal LIFE and we will be living it to the absolute fullest! The Bible talks about food and working. This YouTuber hates the idea that we will be servants to God, but the fact is, as Christians, we already are. Our lives revolve around serving God right here on earth, Heaven is simply the perfect culmination of a life intent on glorifying Him.

Words Beginning with “L” [Obi-Wan Kenobi x Reader]

Warnings: The reader is (spoiler alert) shot near the end of the story but does not die

Lahn… Lannik… Lanteeb… Oh, here we are. Lasan. You grabbed the holofile off of the shelf and powered it on. You began to mutter the words as you read them. “Located in the Outer Rim Territories, Lasan orbits the star of the same name…” You became engrossed with the file, absorbing all the information it held. Your mentor, Master Ki-Adi-Mundi, wanted you to learn everything you could about the planet before you traveled there for a solo mission, and you refused to fail him.

You were only distracted from the file when you heard another person softly exclaim in frustration. You looked up to see Obi-Wan Kenobi, searching under ‘k’, his eyebrows furrowed. You hadn’t realized that anyone was with you. The poor thing looked rather confused. “Is there anything I can help you with, Master Kenobi?” you offered.

Obi-Wan looked to you briefly. “Ah, no, thank you.” He resumed his search. “I seem to be having trouble finding the information I need, that’s all.”

“Come on, Grunkle Stan! You love pancakes! Don’t you remember, you called them ‘Stancakes’?”

“No, I d- yeah, yeah I did, didn’t I? Ha! Yeah!”

Ford stood just behind his bedroom door, listening to the conversation going on in the kitchen down the hall. Something sunk into the pit of his stomach, making him feel hollow yet crushed at the same time. He listened as his brother and the two young twins chatted and laughed together. He listened as the kids explained things to Stanley, as his brother gradually began to remember more and more. He covered his mouth with a hand and took a step away from the door, sitting down carefully on the sofa running along one wall of his room. His fingers tugged at his hair, his eyes burning with unshed tears.

This was his fault. His brother, his best friend since birth, was sitting in the other room struggling to remember his life story. Ford knew just how upsetting this was for the kids. They had spent the entire summer making so many wonderful (and sometimes scary) memories with their Grunkle Stan and now he could barely remember a thing. All their work, all their time spent together had nearly been lost completely. This was all Ford’s fault. Ford had noticed that the longer he was around, the more danger arose and the more Stanley seemed to be angry, the kids seemed miserable. Of course, he didn’t know what the twins were like before he’d returned, but he could only assume that they’d been much happier.

After the recent terrorist attacks Im finding it increasingly harder to be okay with Islam

The media feeds you with such lies I don’t blame you. I would have blamed you if you believed the media without doing your own research, but you sending me this ask is a way for you to gain knowledge, is it not? I’m proud of you for reaching out to me before you start hating us.

The media is this most biased source of information ever. Please do not be conditioned into what the media wants you to be brainwashed into.

What such terrorist groups represents, first of all, are not Islamic. Far from Islam are these twats. I was actually reading the Quran this morning and came across the verse:

if any one slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people. Then although there came to them Our messengers with clear signs, yet, even after that, many of them continued to commit excesses in the land.” [Quran 5:32]

Oh look! There is a verse for terrorist groups like ISIS as well! :

“And make not Allah’s (Name) an excuse in your oaths against your doing good and acting piously, and making peace among mankind. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower (i.e. do not swear much and if you have sworn against doing something good then give an expiation for the oath and do good).” [Quran 2:224]

There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.” [Quran 2:256]

The conditions of Muslims setting war is set by a verse in sūrat l-baqarah. This verse explains that war is only acceptable if it is for oppressed people. Allah also says to resort to peace if the other side does as well -

And fight in the cause of Allah with those who fight with you, and do not exceed the limits, surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits. And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from where they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque (in Makkah) until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the reward of the unbelievers. But if they desist, then surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. And fight with them until there is no persecution, and religion should be only for Allah, but if they desist, then there should be no hostility except against the oppressors.“ [Quran 2:190-192]

Permission to fight is given to those (i.e. believers against disbelievers), who are fighting them, (and) because they (believers) have been wronged, and surely, Allah is Able to give them (believers) victory” [Quran 22:39]

The recompense for an injury is an injury equal thereto (in degree): but if a person forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah: for (Allah) loves not those who do wrong. But indeed if any do help and defend themselves after a wrong (done) to them, against such there is no cause of blame. The blame is only against those who oppress men and insolently transgress beyond bounds through the land, defying right and justice: for such there will be a grievous penalty. And whoever is patient and forgiving, these most surely are actions due to courage.“ [Quran 42:40-43]

Also, let me drop one last verse from the Quran:

And do not obey the disbelievers and the hypocrites but do not harm them, and rely upon Allah. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs.” [33:48]

What ISIS and others are doing, well have fun in hell you fools. Using Allah’s glorified name to carry out your horrific acts, spoiling the name Islam and Allah, woe and curses be to them!

Other facts -

Did you know after 9/11 there was a spike in conversions to Islam because people picked up the Quran in interest to see how terrible Islam is but found love, peace, and mercy instead?

Did you know that those who were held captive by ISIS and escaped said that they did not even have a Quran, they did not pray the 5 daily prayers, they would get drunk, and they raped and abused. Obviously, they are far from Islam as these are far from the teachings of Islam.

Please do not believe the media, they only want for you to hate us. Divide and conquer, you’ve probably learned that in history class.

Again, thank you for reaching out before being absorbed in judgments.
