Being the result of an old girlfriend– not really sure what happened to her. Tony never talked about her, you’re his main priority now.
Not many people thought Tony would be able to handle a child, let alone one of the opposite sex
But he can actually be really chill
As a child he spoiled you so much, but he’s learned to calm down over the years
But when you want something you ask for it and he does the “on a scale of one to this will kill you if i don’t buy it” how badly do you need it?” but he usually almost always buys what you want. because stark.
You were exposed to the party scene very early on. The press was always interested in hearing from the perspective of Tony’s daughter
Pepper being your mother figure and her loving you even if you aren’t her own
You and Pepper hanging out when Tony is busy
She loves you so much
Tony calls a press conference? Pepper is there to watch after you. Tony has to save the world with the Avengers? Pepper keeps you in her sight to make sure you are okay
Oh man when he went missing in 2008, Pepper took you in because you felt safest with her without your father around
You were the most worried when he went missingIt was the worst time of your life, hearing your father was missing and presumed dead
Pepper came into the house one day “(Y/N)! HE’S BEEN FOUND! TONY IS ALIVE!”
Bursting into tears so quickly
Going with Pepper to see him when he arrived back and losing it even more when you actually got to hug your dad for what felt like the first time in forever
Tony being so relieved he got to hold you again, he didn’t know if it would ever happen
You basically forced him to tell you how he escaped meaning you learned so quickly about the Iron Man project
Spending so much time in the labs either just keeping company or helping
Trying to make your own AI since Tony has JARVIS why not try to make one yourself
Not actually doing too bad
Vacations were the shit because you could just hop on a private plane with your father and go wherever was decided
You basically forced him to tell you how he escaped meaning you learned so quickly about the Iron Man project
You wanting to build your own Iron Daughter suit but Tony freaking out that it’s too dangerous for you
“Then why do you do it? You’re my dad! It looks like so much fun!”
“It comes with a lot of responsibility, (Y/N), it’s not a toy.”
“So? I want to be like you! I look up to you and I want to do the things you do. I want to protect the world too, I can take care of myself.”
“I know you can…but I can’t risk it. I can’t risk losing you.”
And then you realize how much your father actually cares for you and you dropped the whole suit thing
[after the avengers becomes a thing] Having many ideas that you share with the science bros™
Bruce loves you because you can annoy Tony to death
Always pulling the “Steve would let me do that…” card to get Tony to let you do things
Meeting Peter and tony either loving him or “don’t touch my daughter, Peter Parker.”
The Avengers really is just one big family and they love you too
Never wanting the Accords to become a thing. Luckily, your young mind was able to talk sense into everyone and help them realize they’re being stupid the avengers can’t split up. someone go save the old russian soldier and everyone hug it out.
Tony and Steve still argue about everything, though, there is no getting out of that
“How do you deal with him?” Natasha asks you almost daily about your father
But there will always be the kind of sarcastic-loving-family relationship.
Basically you are the glue for Pepper and Tony’s relationship and even though they took a break when the Accords stuff was happening, they got back together and you couldn’t be more happy
You wanna talk dead fandoms? Let's talk about War of the Worlds.
You’re from another country so I can’t speak to your experience, but in mine growing up in the Anglosphere, H.G. Wells is extraordinarily evergreen, like the Oz books. He’s one of the few old scifi guys people actually still read instead of pretend to read (I don’t even think Heinlein is in that category anymore). To this day, he’s the intro into scifi for tons of Advanced Placement kids who get bored in class in 3rd grade free period and see “War of the Worlds” on the shelf. He’s in that impossibly tiny sliver in the Venn Diagram of “books you are made to read for class” and “books you actually like.” His books are less like a fandom and more like a near-universal childhood rite of passage for geeky kids. He has a permanent centrality in the scifi canon. Describing his role in scifi culture is like being asked to describe how I feel about air.
I think part of the reason H.G. Wells is still so towering when other authors from his era are totally forgotten is that Wells was a man who is very modern, he had something to say apart from the boyish obsession with gadgetry and inventors that defined the Edisonades. He was a socialist, he believed in free love (at the turn of the century!), he despised war as the worst of human endeavors, he despised colonialism, and he was always ambivalent about technology at a time when progress was seen as positive and inevitable…and he wrote his stories about all of the above instead of the dozens on dozens of turn of the century boy inventors who built their own helicopters.
The reason H.G. Wells is still read is that he has something to say to us today that the “boy with a helicopter” turn of the century writers didn’t. It’s interesting to contrast H.G. Wells with another writer from his era, H. Rider Haggard, who once was the most widely read adventure author in the English speaking world (and I like him, so don’t interpret this as a diss). Haggard was a fascinating man but he was “of his time.” I actually could believe that Wells was a time traveler, like he was in Nicholas Meyer’s amazing movie Time After Time. Haggard on the other hand, his concerns were of his time and were not universal or applicable to us today. He wrote about colonial Africa, and his concerns were of the colonial state.
Haggard absolutely and totally deserves his reputation as a reactionary, but what makes him fascinating is that despite the fact he’s a reactionary, he always feels like he’s edging at the cusp of some great revelation and enlightenment, like that portion where one of his arch colonial characters in King Solomon’s Mines said it was wrong to call black Africans the n-word, to debase their humanity that way. The guy spoke fluent Zulu and wrote a history of them in their own language. You feel there’s a decent person in there somewhere, much more than in other shriveled souled 19th century writers who cheered on the Irish famine, something Haggard never did. Haggard was basically one hippie girlfriend away from being H.G. Wells.
Remember that one time in Leroux’s Phantom when Raoul’s just minding his own business in his room and all of a sudden he sees Erik’s creepy glowing cat eyeballs on his balcony because Erik has just been standing there watching him sleep?
And Raoul’s first response is to SHOOT ERIK WITH THE GUN HE KEEPS UNDER HIS PILLOW?
And Phillippe bounds upstairs after a hail of gunfire interrupts his evening Most Interesting Man in the World bourbon time and he’s like, “Hi, um, quick question: what the fuck?”
And Raoul’s just like, “My girlfriend’s boyfriend was watching me take a nap so I shot him.”
And they go outside and there’s BLOOD ON THE BALCONY.
Which means Raoul got him. Raoul shot the Phantom of the Opera and Erik was probably so humiliated by the whole thing that he didn’t say anything because then he’d have to admit that in addition to watching Christine sleep, he also watched her renegade, quietly badass sensitive sailor boyfriend sleep. And got shot because of it.

He’d like to possibly cover Closer to the Heart by Rush in the future
His favorite concert of Rush’s he’s seen (out of 11) is the R30 tour in 2004
His favorite thing he’s seen them play live is Xanadu
He doesn’t plan on trying to start playing an instrument (aside from the bass which he has said he’s mediocre at) because the band he’s got now has such awesome musicians that he wants to focus on being the best vocalist he can be
His favorite Skyhill song is Run with the Hunted, and his least favorite is Only One
His favorite Rush song to play on the bass is Fountain of Lameneth (but it’s hard)
It’s pretty likely that there will eventually be a new Skyhill song or album
He first saw Rush in 1994 in NJ at the Brendan Byrne Arena. He’s seen them on every tour since.
He’s hoping that next year they’ll be able to tour in the UK, and he’d like to be able to tour in Australia too at some point
What influenced him most from Rush is their chord choices, their worth ethic, and their integrity.
If he could perform vocals on one song with Rush, it would probably be Time Stand Still
His best Rush-related experience was zoning out by himself as a kid and letting their music take his imagination places
His favorite Rush albums are A Farewell to Kings, Hemispheres, Caress of Steel, and 2112. His least favorite (though he still loves them!) are Hold your Fire, Counterparts, and Snakes and Arrows
The most direct way that Rush has affected him is that they helped inspire him to commit his life to music.
His top 3 songs are Xanadu, Hemispheres, and Fountain of Lameneth
He started listening to Rush at 13 and he became obsessed with them. He sang their music to himself all day during school.
When asked how many Rush shirts he has, his answer was “Too many!!”
A Farewell to Kings is his alltime favorite Rush album
What initially caused him to enjoy Rush was that it was an awesome sound that he’d never really heard before and lyrics that appealed to his nerdy Lord of the Rings loving self.
His favorite >10 minute Rush track is (possibly) Circumstances
I’m more Jewish by culture than by religion. I certainly believe that there’s a lot to life and the universe that we don’t understand, and I respect anyone who finds their answers in religion, but it’s never been a big part of my life personally.”
His favorite Rush show to watch is one from Rio
The song he’s most proud of is 6969 because it’s a comedy prog song, which is something he’s always wanted to do.
His favorite part of 2112 is the overture
Hemispheres will always remind him of his freshman year of high school. He listened to it constantly.
Both him and Arin write the lyrics to Starbomb songs
He feels an immediate kinship with other Rush fans. “We’re like a world-wide secret club!”
The rush album he feels is most underrated is Presto
The first Rush song he listened to was Roll the Bones
He would be interested in giving talks about music/comedy/career stuff at colleges or high schools if there was an audience for it.
He got into Rush at age 12 because the guy that worked at his local comic book shop (named Keith) introduced him to them. “God bless that man.” Before he discovered them he listened to a lot of Def Leppard and Nirvana
if you were to start your career again today, where would you start? Youtube / twitch / podcasts?
I don’t think I’d do anything differently because even the years of “failure” taught me a lot and allowed me time to improve. Once that spotlight is on you, you’d better be ready for it. I’d say start in the medium that inspires you individually the most and work as hard as you can on it from there.
how do you think the future of NSP has changed now that you guys have topped the motherfucking charts with Under the Covers?? You guys fucking rule and I’m so happy for you and your multitudes of success! A:
Thank you! We were psyched that our recent albums have charted so well, but I don’t think we’ll do anything differently. We’ll just keep doing what feels right to the best of our ability!
6969 came together quickly when writing it. The video only took so long because it was such a huge jump in ambition and it has a learning curve. “If we do something like that again, things should go a lot more smoothly!”
The Pass has helped him through some tough times.
(I believe) that the lyrics he’d get as a tattoo are “
All of us get lost in the darkness Dreamers learn to steer by the stars All of us do time in the gutter Dreamers learn to look at the cars!”
Q: What would you say is the best dish at Olive Garden? A: The dish where you get up, walk across the street, and eat at Outback Steakhouse
He meditates in silence before a show because he’d get overhyped if he listened to music.
Doesn’t have a favorite member of Rush, “it’s an equilateral triangle”
Says Moving Pictures is usually a safe bet to start off with introducing someone to Rush
He picked Madrigal and Subdivisions for the first UTC because he loves them and they’re easy to sing. “I don’t know if I could hit some of those crazy high notes Geddy rocked in the 70s”
He thinks Witch Hunt would be a very good song to cover.
Such a great song and so relevant right now! “Quick to judge, quick to anger, slow to understand”
His favorite song to try and fail at on bass is YYZ
I don’t think there’s any conscious decision to have Rush influence my music, but I’ve spent so many thousands of hours listening to them, it’s inevitable that it just comes out naturally”
His favorite album to work on in his career is what he’s doing now (UTC2 and Cool Patrol) because “we’ve grown so much and finally have a full band!”
He doesn’t mind when fans are super nervous to meet him. He was nervous when he met Rush, too, “so it’s just the circle of life!”
He chose bass because it was different and fun to find submelodies.
Hey Dan! I’m looking forward to Under the Covers 2. I started writing comedy music and NSP is one of my main inspirations. What do you wish you knew about writing comedy music earlier on in your career?
Nothing in particular really. You learn and you go and there’s no substitute for just doing something over a long period of time. Of course there are things I would change about our early work, but it was the best we could do at the time so I have to be cool with it.
“I listened to so much of them [Rush] growing up that it’s in my blood and unconsciously shapes the way I approach music”
His second favorite album flops between Hemispheres, Caress of Steel, and 2112 on any given day
His favorite story/message told in a Rush song→ Story is Fountain of Lameneth because it’s a beautiful summary of life. Message is Spirit of Radio where they talk about the importance of integrity in art.
His biggest influences are Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Genesis, Nirvana, Spacehog, and Gentle Giant (to name a few)
He does his best on his Rickenbacker bass but it’s just for fun. “My band already has a bass player that’s better than I’ll ever be!”
“Thanks everyone! I have to go see my family now otherwise I’d stay longer. Sorry I couldn’t get to everyone’s questions but I had a lot of fun. I’d be happy to do this again in the future! You being fans of mine means the world to me and I promise to keep making comedy and music for a long time! Thanks to you, the moderators who set this up, and of course Rush for being an awesome and inspirational force!”
Hii! I know it’s been forever since I wrote something and I’m very sorry. There’s been so much on my mind lately and so many things that made me feel overwhelmed and I just needed to sort it out. This is kind of very loosely based on ‘Love me or leave me’ by Little Mix because someone requested it. I hope you like it. I plan on writing a second part.xxx
“Well, maybe I don’t fucking care anymore!”
It seemed like his booming voice made the whole house vibrate. It seemed like it cut right through Y/N. His words felt like he took a knife and rammed it into her heart and to top it all off he twisted it slowly so the pain had time to spread.
These last weeks felt like nothing but pain for her. He was never home and even when he was he somehow wasn’t. She let him in and he pushed her away. He pushed her so far away she couldn’t feel him anymore.
“Why are you still here then!?”
She had had enough. If he didn’t care anymore he could walk out the door and never come back.
Harry scoffed, turned around and walked up the stairs. When he slammed the bedroom door shut Y/N could feel the last bit of connection between them slipping away completely.
It’s never been this harsh. They slammed doors and yelled hurtful things before but it’s never been like this. Somehow this felt final.
She didn’t know how it happened, how everything between them began to crumble. But it did.
She didn’t feel his loving touch in at least three months. She didn’t hear his loving words in at least three months.
They fought almost every day and when they didn’t fight they didn’t talk to each other at all. Mornings were spent alone and cold, both waking up at their own times without a good morning kiss or a cuddle or anything at all. Nights were even worse. They went to sleep in the same bed but facing away from each other. They never solved their problems before bed. They broke their rule every single night and went to bed angry.
And even though right now Y/N might think it would be better if their paths would part she also knew she wouldn’t recover from it. Harry was the love of her life. She knew she could never be happy without him.
And so she broke down. Ugly sobs and fat tears. The whole weight of the last few months finally got too much and she couldn’t take it anymore. She was sure she’s never cried this much in her entire life. She was sure she never felt so hurt but numb at the same time before.
She didn’t know what the hell went wrong. What she did to push him away. What she did that made him stop loving her. He doesn’t love you anymore.
Those were the words that constantly replayed in her head, after every fight. He hates me.
She couldn’t find another explanation. That was the only reason she could think of as to why he wasn’t interested in fixing things between them.
When she met him she was sure he was the most wonderful person she’s ever met. He looked at her as if she was the most important thing on earth. He cooked the most delicious dinner for her. He held doors for her. He made her laugh and feel appreciated.
When she really got to know him she was knocked off her feet. He was the most gentle and loving man she could have ever imagined. He was there for her. He was the place she ran to when the world overwhelmed her. He was her happy place. Her home.
When things got a bit rough they stuck together. They were a team. They faced everything together and fought through it.
Y/N was the happiest girl ever. She thought she found her forever. Her happily ever after.
Until the perfect relationship began to change into great, then good, then normal and then…
Into whatever they had now.
She couldn’t take it anymore. And the worst thing was that there was no way out of this hell. They can’t go back to where they’ve once been. And parting ways? No fucking way could she survive without him.
It was three hours and twenty tissues later when Harry finally exited the bedroom and came down the stairs. Y/N was standing in front of the big living room window which had a view over what seemed like half of London. Her back was turned to Harry, her hair messy and her frame slightly shaking.
She knew that whatever would come now would change everything. She knew that they reached a point were something had to happen. Anything.
Harry took a deep breath and took the last few step towards her. Y/N closed her eyes when she felt his warmth. She hadn’t felt it in so long.
When he reached his hand out thread his fingers through hers she flinched. Harry could feel his heart breaking at her reaction to his touch. He closed the gap between them and pressed his chest flush against her back. That’s when Y/N started to cry again. Her whole body shook with the force of her tears and the whimpers and sobs seemed to get louder with every passing second.
“Shhh.” Harry tried to calm her and finally wrapped his arms around her from behind.
He nuzzled his face into her neck where she always smelled so good and that’s when he realized how long he hasn’t done that.
Y/N moved her arms so she could intertwine both her hands with his. She didn’t remember the last time she held his hand. She used to love his hands so much, always playing with his fingers and kissing his knuckles.
Harry kept pressing tiny kisses to her shoulder and squeezed her tighter to him every time a whimper left her lips.
They stood like that for at least ten minutes before Y/N turned around in his arms and hugged him again. He wrapped his arms around her shoulders, his hands stroking softly over her back while her hands were fisting his shirt. She couldn’t get close enough. She needed him closer. Her hands wandered down underneath his shirt to touch his skin. Harry shuddered when her cold hands touched his skin but he knew she needed this. She hasn’t felt his skin in forever. It almost felt foreign.
When they finally pulled away from each other both of them were scared to let go. This couldn’t be it. They needed each other.
“We have to talk, Harry.” she whispered and pressed her forehead against his.
“I know, my love.” My love.
Was she still his love?
She thought he hated her.
They sat down at the kitchen table across from each other. Both of them couldn’t be fast enough to reach out for each other again and when their hands bumped against each other they both laughed softly. For the first time in months.
None of them wanted to be the first to say anything. Until Harry finally couldn’t take the silence anymore.
“I didn’t mean anything that I said earlier. Or… in the last few weeks. God, what is happening with us?”
“I don’t know, Harry. But it can’t keep going like this. I can’t take it anymore.”
“Me neither, love. I know I didn’t show how much it was affecting me but I want you to know that I feel just as broken as you do.” Broken.
Is that what they’ve become?
“I… I thought you hated me. During all these times you pulled away or turned your back towards me, I thought you hated me.”
Harry’s free hand reached out to hers so he could clasp her hand in both of his.
“I never ever hated you. Not for a second. And I never will.”
Y/N felt like a huge weight was lifted from her shoulders and she felt like she could breath again.
“I love you so much, darling.” Harry whimpered.
Her head snapped up so she could look at him and when she saw tears running down his cheek she reached over the table to wipe them away.
“I love you too, Harry. So much.”
Harry removed her hand from his face and pressed gentle kiss to ever knuckle.
“What are we going to do, love? I want to fix this. I want to go back to being the happiest couple ever. I want to go back to being happy with each other.”
“Me too, Harry. God, I’d do everything to get back to what we once had.”
They stared into each other’s eyes until Y/N cleared her throat and diverted her eyes to the table.
“I-I think we need a break.”
Harry’s whole world stopped in that moment. His mouth fell open and his brows furrowed. He pulled his hands from hers and a breathless ‘no’ left his lips.
“No.” He repeated after a moment.
“Harry, listen. I-”
“No!” he shouted.
Y/N flinched and her ears began to ring like every time he raised his voice at her. Her eyes closed and tears began to dribble down her cheeks.
“Do you think I’m stupid? I know exactly what’s going to happen when we do that. You’re going to realize just how unhappy I make you and that you are so sick and tired of me and you’ll never come back. Or you’ll find someone else who makes you laugh more than I ever did. God, I’m going to be gone for two weeks for promo. Is that not enough distance and space for you?!“
“Harry, I need time okay? I need time to take care of myself. I need time for sorting things out. I need time so that this all can work again and if you’re honest, you need it too.”
He laughed humorlessly and crossed his arms over his chest.
“You will have that time when I’m gone.”
“I-I don’t think two weeks are going to be enough.”
His eyes caught hers and she swore she’s never seen him look at her like that. So sad but angry at the same time.
“Two weeks are nothing, Harry.”
“There’s been times when you couldn’t go a single day without me. There’s been times where two weeks without each other seemed like the end of the world.”
She closed her eyes and tried to control the tears which constantly blurred her sight.
“I don’t think we can sort anything out in two weeks.”
“I don’t think we can sort anything out when we’re away from each other.”
He closed his eyes briefly and sighed.
“No fucking way!”
This time it was Y/N’s turn to sigh.
“One month. And not a single day longer.”
She caught his eyes for a moment before she nodded.
They sat in silence for several minutes, both didn’t know what to say.
“I-I thought I’d stay in a hotel for the two weeks before you’re gone and then I’ll come back.”
“No. Please, I-… I want to know you’re safe. You’ll stay here and I’ll stay with Gemma.”
“If that’s okay with you.”
“No, it’s actually not.”
She looked at him with the saddest eyes he ever saw and he shook his head and and sighed.
“I’m gonna go pack some stuff and then you won’t have to deal with me anymore.”
“Harry, I did not suggest a break because I want to get away from you as quickly as possible. I want to fix this. And I feel like some distance is the only way to sort things out. Or at least make the first step.”
He didn’t say anything but just left the kitchen and went upstairs to pack a few things. For some reason Y/N couldn’t help but feel guilty. Of course she knew he wouldn’t be happy with taking a break, she wasn’t either. But she hoped he could at least understand where she came from.
When he came down the stairs half an hour later with two big duffle bags Y/N almost felt like crying again. She watched him, how he placed them beside the front door, wiped his tears away, took a deep breath and turned around to make his way to the kitchen so he could say goodbye but she was already standing in the foyer. They stared at each other for a few moments before Harry cleared his throat and removed a greasy strand of hair from his face.
“I’ll go now, I guess.”
“Yeah.” Y/N nodded and sniffled.
He looked at her for another few seconds before he let out a frustrated sigh.
“Can I at least get a hug?”
He saw the surprise on her face but she nodded anyway and took the last few steps towards him. She slung her arms tightly around his neck and pressed her body tightly to his and Harry wrapped his arms around her waist and squeezed her to his chest. He pressed kisses to her shoulder and neck and stroked over her back in gentle patterns.
When they pulled away a bit Y/N reached up to cup his cheeks and stroke over his skin.
“I love you. Nothing changed about that and nothing is going to change. I don’t want you to worry about me breaking up with you. I couldn’t imagine life without you.”
Harry pressed his forehead to hers and pulled her body even closer.
“Will you say goodbye when I’ll leave for New York? Don’t think I could leave without seeing you before.”
“I’ll think about it, okay?”
Harry sighed but nodded.
“C-Can I kiss you?” he asked her in a whisper.
She leaned in and connected her lips to his as an answer, his bottom lip slipping between hers. She kissed him four times before she pulled away a bit to look up at him again.
“I love you. You know that, right?”
She nodded and smiled softly at him.
“I love you, too.”
Harry gazed into her eyes for another few seconds before he pressed a few gentle kisses against her lips again. He pulled away from her then and took his duffle bags.
“I’ll let you know when I’ll leave for New York. You can call me or come over anytime you need, okay?”
“Okay. You can come over or call as well. Even if it’s the middle of the night.”
He nodded and opened the door.
“Take care, yeah?”
“You too, love.”
“I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
And just like that he left.
Am I… the only one who likes having love stories in Disney princess movies? I see so much bashing on the older ones because they revolve a lot around romance and “a man saving the girl” but that didn’t happen every time, I can see that for Snow White and Sleeping Beauty, but in most of the Disney Princess movies they either save themselves, the man, or work as a team to “defeat evil”. I can appreciate how the newer ones are about how “you don’t need a man to save the world (or to save yourself)” and that’s a good lesson just there’s nothing wrong with also having a love interest
Surprise, surprise! You open your big mouth to Tony Stark, and it gets around about your crush on a certain metal armed soldier. What happens when he finds out about it, and what will he do to get your attention?
Warnings: FLUFF. FLUUUUUUUUUFF.

A/N: Holy shit a writing?! YES. For @avengerofyourheart ‘s birthday! Happy birthday love, I’m sorry it’s late but I hope you love it nonetheless!!
You sat in the kitchen, idly spinning your spoon with your finger in your coffee cup; your eyes focused on something else besides your breakfast in front of you. It was while he wasn’t looking (as always), but you just simply couldn’t help yourself.
Bucky Barnes, in general, was a gorgeous man. Taunt muscle just teasing outlines underneath a tight t-shirt, a new black vibranium arm that had your mind wandering on how he would know how to use the damn thing; his hair pulled back in a bun to keep it off his neck from his run with Steve. Those eyes? Ugh, the blue killed you every time, making you weak in the knees. Of course, as soon as the man turned around from what he was doing, you’d quickly look down at your food like it was the most interesting thing in the world; only praying he hadn’t caught you ogling his assets.

It was the rainy day just like this one. I was in
my room watching porn the stars, when
I’ve noticed the body hanging in the opposite window. Neighbor hung himself.
While examining the scene I’ve found his laptop with unfinished article. I’ve
got the laptop and went home. Later I got arrested for break-in, but before that I managed to post
this article on tumblr. Enjoy!
1. Blight Dream
Blight Dream is an exploration
adventure game, where you play as a girl, suffering from memory disorder (
don’t confuse with amnesia ), whose goal is to regain memories from the blank
period of her life. But there’s one little problem-it seems that your brother
isn’t really excited about you getting back your memories, that’s why he’s
watching your every step and prevents all your attempts to remember. So, watch
his movements and try not to get caught by him. But is it really your brother,
who you should be afraid of? Play and see for yourself. Beside interesting
plot, this game has high-quality visuals ( character’s 3D-models are similar to
ones in remake of FF3 and CP:Blood Drive ) and wisely chosen soundtrack.
Here goes a sequel-spinoff to 1bitHeart, without
friend-making and QTE-scenes though. This time the main character is
Misane-chan, who, along with Nanashi, is solving various murder cases in resort
hotel. Gameplay is very similar to Ace Attorney games, logic is pretty simple,
so, as long as you’ve played any detective games-you’ll be fine even without
hints. Like it’s predecessor, 1BeatHeart has wonderful presentation – beautiful
art and sprites along with catchy soundtrack and quality voice acting.
3.The Hanged Man
Men Series is probably one of most known game series in rpg-horror community,
and, no doubt, one of the most interesting. Here goes the last game in the
series, which concludes the main plotline, and makes clear some things, that
were hanging in the air since the Crooked Man. The Hanged Man introduces us new protagonist – Will, a bit
unstable, but still nice boy with active imagination, who’s searching for his
missing friend. Along the way he’ll meet many of our old acquaintances from
previous games. Once again, game has fully voiced cutscenes, with quality voice
acting for an indie-game. Gameplay, though, is more simple compared to predecessors, most of the game you’ll be exploring
various locations and solving puzzles,
there’s no action cut-ins, except for quite complicated final chase. Overall, the
Hanged Man is an interesting game and very
decent conclusion of the whole series.
the game, made by Segawa, the author of our favorite End Roll. Farethere City
was his first game, and it’s bit more simple in terms of gameplay ( for
example, there’s no rpg-elements and game’s world isn’t that big ). But when it
comes to story, City is as good as ER, both sad and moving,-game starts with
little kelp (Mr.Turnip?) named Pigula,
who has recently moved to a new city and wishes to open a shop, but something
is definitely off with both city and our hero. Visual part is as bright as one in the
End Roll (including a bit of stylish disturbing artwork). So, if you liked End
Roll and still want more, I highly suggest playing Farethere City.
5.June Bride Nightmare
beautiful wedding…and how quickly it turned into a nightmare. Our protagonist,
Yuno, was so close to finding her happiness with the man she loves, but ended
up being the only surviving person on her own wedding, and now she’s forced to play
hide and seek with the mysterious maniac in the church, where wedding was held.
Every time the maniac appears, you have a choice to sneak past him or to run
for it by performing a QTE. Game has an interesting story, good gameplay and
wonderful presentation. Even if you are far from romance ( like myself, heh ), Bride still
leaves the strong impression, especially the bittersweet true ending ( there’s
also secret ending, but it isn’t that good, really ).
6.Little Red Riding Hood’s Wolf
know the tale about Red Riding Hood? Famous tale indeed, and has many various
interpretations, in most of them the girl gets eaten by wolf one way or
another. But not this time. In this game granny is dead from the very beginning,
little Red Riding Hood and the wolf are working together in order to find the
murderer. Story is interesting and have some nice plot-twists (personally, I
liked how the theme of split personality played in here ) and characters are
nice. When it comes to gameplay, LRRHW plays like any other rpg-horror, so if
you aren’t new to genre, you’ll easily beat this game in a hour or so. It’ll be
quite pleasant hour.
7.Stray Cat Crossing
constantly play rpg-horrors and still haven’t got tired from amnesiac characters,
I highly recommend you to play Stray Cat Crossing. First thing, that catches
the eye is very detailed sprites and pixel artwork. Other one is dark
atmosphere of haunted house with stylish designs and some grotesque well-animated
cutscenes. Gameplay is mostly consists from searching the right items and
solving simple riddles, but there’s also one frustrating chasing scene at the
end of the first section of the house. Story may lack originality, but still
good and teaches us to forgive, this time not others, but yourself, since
sometimes there’s things that are beyond our control. And despite ending being
optimistic, closing credits are a bit creepy.
8.Three Ghostly Roses
yourself in the strange place, greeted by mysterious man in the blue cape, you
don’t remember anything about yourself, except for the name. Edmund Brigham. Doesn’t ring a bell? Nope, it
doesn’t. To find out about your past and your purpose, you’ll need to carefully
explore every corner of the dark and unwelcome world, before it’ll start to
fall apart. TGR looks very similar to NES games and has wonderful original
soundtrack, which perfectly fits to dark atmosphere of the haunted world. Also
game has pretty unique battle system, where you watch the enemy’s movements and
try to exploit it’s weakness. And, there’s no healing items, you recover HP by
defeating the enemies, but despite that, difficulty level is quite fair.
is important, isn’t it? It definitely is, but not for the people in Dreamfarer,
who don’t need to sleep at all. In the society, described in the game, sleep is
considered something out of ordinary, since no one’ve slept and seen a dreams
for a long time. Yet, little girl, who has an ability to travel between other’s
dreams, accidentally gets into a dream of a man, who is currently in comatose
state in the hospital. To get back to reality, you’ll need to swap between girl
and the man, since both of them see the same things from different perspectives,
and help the inhabitants of the dream world. Dreamfarer is one of those games,
which start as cute adventure and get darker and darker towards the end. This
game has amazing fully redrawn graphics and stunning artwork (there’s literally
tons of CGs ).
10.Shirakami-sama to Yon-no-Oni
game is perfect if you are tired from jumpscares, suggestive content and brain(or heart)-breaking stories.
Shirakami is very heartwarming game about friendship between boy and four demons,
who help him in search of his cousin, who went missing while preparing to
upcoming festival. Game has warm atmosphere of small village, strong with it’s
traditions, beautiful illustrations and interesting gameplay, based on main
character’s perception. There’s 3 endings in total, to see all of them you’ll
need to beat the game 3 times (it’ll take from 3 to 5 hours in total ) and
every time story goes the different way. Currently, game ia available only in russian and japanese.
11.From The Next Door
When you see
something extremely cheap-it’s always suspicious. In case of food it might be
rotten ( not always though ), in case of newly acquired house-get ready to deal
with abomination living next door ( and no, I don’t mean neighbors ). Usually,
when you notice paranormal activity in your house-you try to get away from it
as far as you can, but in case of our heroine Namie ( who is as “smart” as
Ayumi Shinozaki in CP: Blood Drive )- you’ll wait until things will get
reeeeally ugly. Despite main heroine’s stupidity ( or thanks to it ), the game
came out really creepy and interesting. Additionally I would like to praise
game’s stylish visuals reminiscent of GBC-games and good work with setting the
right atmosphere. And, once again, if you’re not the sensitive type-I suggest
you playing in complete darkness with headphones on.
game’s title, you will meet neither Hansel nor Gretel, instead you are playing
as twin brothers, one of them is timid and another is sharp-mouthed (oh well,
they’re both little rascals, no matter how you look at it). Hansel is nice
adventure game with variety of references to famous old fairy tales, good
humor, adorable visuals and quite unexpected ending ( two endings, to be exact,
since another one is unlocked after beating the game for the second time). Game
is relatively short ( 30-40 minutes ) and puzzles can be easily solved without
presents another look on the Rapunzel’s story, in which there’s no prince and
evil witch isn’t that evil. Your goal in this game is to descend the tower to
retrieve your birthday present, solving various unique puzzles ( from feeding
plants to playing chess ) on your way down. Lavender has quality pixel graphics
and overall good presentation, which helps to create the feeling that you’re
traveling through old storybook. Personally, I really liked the game’s normal
ending, but there’s also a secret one for those, who like, when plot starts to
turn grim and bloody.
14.Dudley and The Mysterious Tower
There goes a
new title, developed by Sen, but don’t expect second Mad Father or Misao.
Dudley is far more simple in terms of both plot and presentation. But it
doesn’t mean that the game has nothing to offer. You play as a courier, who has
an important delivery to tower’s owner, and his dog. Each floor of the tower is
designed as a puzzle, in order to solve which you’ll need to switch between
courier and the dog, who can do things courier can’t ( like seeing ghosts and
talking to other animals). To climb the tower and see the contents of so-called
“delivery” you’ll need about 40 minutes,
so if you have some free time-be my guest.
again our closing title belongs to “escape” genre, where you need to leave
locked apartments by all means necessary. This time you play as carefree guy,
whose drunken older sister has changed all locks in the house. Game is about 30
minutes long and has several endings, which depend on how fast you’ll manage to
escape the house and meet up with a friend ( don’t forget to bring “that” with
you ).Also game has good humor (some jokes are just hilarious) and nice art
The thing about Fitz is that he never expected Jemma to love him, ever. When he started to recognize his feelings for her, he hid them, SURE she wouldn’t feel the same way. You can see the resignation in his eyes when he gives her the oxygen, finally telling her he loves her only because it’s the only way he can convince Jemma to take the last breath.
“I love you, you see?” he tells her in not so many words. “And you’ll never love me back. I can’t stop how I feel, but I can use it for something good. Please, let me.”
And, of course, Jemma has no idea to respond to this except for hugging him and kissing him all over. But when she misses his mouth, Fitz takes it as a confirmation of his fears. He doesn’t expect her to bring him up to the surface; he expects to die.
When he doesn’t die, he finds that he’s not the same man he was. He didn’t prepare for the effects of his hypoxia any more than he prepared to deal with the consequences of his confession, and when Jemma leaves, he takes that as another rejection.
The rejection of his romantic interest was probably a blow, but again, it was something he expected. In the end, it was her apparent rejection of his friendship that hurt the most. He could have dreamed up a Jemma who loved him back, but instead he imagines a platonic Jemma who acts as a bridge between him and the real world. We know that this is Jemmaginary’s function because when Fitz finds another bridge by way of Mack, Jemmaginary tells Fitz that he doesn’t need her anymore.
By the time Jemma DOES come back, hoping to pick up their friendship where they left off, Fitz doesn’t know where to take it. And he could have said, “You didn’t love me back, how could you be so cold?” Instead he says, “We were partners for ten years, then I got hurt, and you decided that I wasn’t worth anything. I was just a random engineer to you, not a friend.” Of course, it wasn’t a very fair thing to say, and Jemma calls him on it. She doesn’t tell him, though, that she left because she thought it would help him.
Does he decide then to say that she should have fell for him, that he deserved her love, that he thought she’d been leading him on? No, because Fitz doesn’t believe any of those things. In fact, he never mentions it again, except in a very vague way when he decides to leave the lab. Even then, he blames himself and not her. “I can’t work with you anymore. I’m not as capable, and the feelings I’ve tried to ignore simply won’t go away. I need to go somewhere else.” He blamed her before, but he doesn’t now, and Jemma is the one who has to fight for their relationship. He leaves anyway.
But Jemma doesn’t stop fighting. She reaches out for him when Real SHIELD tried to take over, and she creates the plan to smuggle the toolbox out of enemy hands. If she hadn’t offered an olive branch, Fitz never would have thought they could be friends again. In fact, he starts to wonder if she wants to be more than friends, but after his awkward flirting falls flat, Fitz decides that friendship is all that Jemma wants, and he’s okay with that.
That’s why he doesn’t want to talk about what happened in the pod when Jemma asks to talk about it. Fitz is embarrassed and sees the conversation as pointless. After all, he has her back as a friend, and that’s what’s most important to him. So when he tells her there’s nothing to talk about, he’s telling her that he gets it and he’s over it. They can forget he ever said anything, as far as he’s concerned. It’s not until Jemma tells him that she wants to talk about it because she feels the same way that he decides to go slow and ask her on a date.
But of course, she is taken away instead.
He works himself to the bone getting her back, but when he succeeds, he clearly thinks they are going to pick up where they left off. He holds her hand, but doesn’t try to kiss her. Instead, he asks for advice on how best to help her and is told that finally going on that date might be the thing she needs. He lays on the charm but stops when she cries, reverting to the friend he’s always been. When she tells him the impossible, that there’s another man, he decides to go back to friend mode permanently.
It doesn’t help, though, when Jemma starts to make advances. She told him, though, that there’s another man, so what does that mean? Fitz tries to back off and save his rival like she asked, but eventually they get into a fight about it. Jemma tells him that he’s being too good, and he asks her what else she expects him to do. He’s her friend and she asked him for her help, so he’s helping her. He doesn’t kiss her until she basically dares him, and even when she kisses him back, he assumes that it’s a one-time thing. She had feelings for him once, but this other man is clearly better, and he can’t compete.
It’s not until later, when the other man is dead and he can barely live with himself, that Jemma asks them to start over. Then, Jemma carefully makes advances again. She knows he’s hurting, so she gives him time to heal while strengthening their friendship. When she has an excuse, she holds his hand. When it feels natural, they kiss. But still, Fitz apologizes for moving too fast, since he doesn’t want to assume anything. She tells him he doesn’t have to wait for her, and that she wants them to move forward.
So, they move forward.
It’s not until then that Fitz starts to believe that Jemma loves him, and it’s wonderful. Not perfect, but wonderful. So wonderful, in fact, that he decides he wants to ask her to marry him. Only he doesn’t, because he’s not sure what her answer will be. Even after everything they’ve been through, he still worries that she doesn’t feel the same way he does.
And when he gets abducted and brainwashed into doing terrible things, he honestly thinks he’s lost her for good. Still, he’s decided that he can’t love anyone else. He cuts off all other romantic ties and resigns himself, AGAIN, to loving a woman who will never love him back. When she approaches him, he can’t even bear to see her disgust. No one is more surprised than he is when she comes and embraces him, and you can see on his face how much it means to him.
One of the beautiful things about the hug is that it’s a testament to the friendship they have and have always had, but Fitz still finds his ways to tell Jemma that he doesn’t deserve her love anymore.
Now, their relationship has been left in a very vague place, but if you look at their history, you can get an idea of what will probably happen: Jemma will fight for him again, just like she always has. Her biggest enemy is usually Fitz himself, but luckily, she knows how to get him out of their way.
I feel like it’s an important thing to point out, not just because it’s an important part of Fitz’s character, but because it’s been extremely consistent throughout the seasons. Fitz has issues with his self-worth, so of course he doesn’t expect people to love him, but he is also kind and compassionate enough that he values other people’s feelings over his own desires. Of course, he’s not perfect, but he always tries to put other people first, even at his own expense.
So, while I feel sad that this is a big character trait of his, it’s also something I love about him. I hope that one of these days he actually has time to accept Jemma’s love for him, but you know, this is a Whedon show.
Logan wasn’t particularly fond of parties. Loud music, inane small talk, and stupid formal wear. Forced to not look like the most miserable person on earth, he pulled at the bowtie on his tux. When he’d signed on for being a part of Xavier’s school, he didn’t know that fundraisers were a part of the deal. Look nice, smile at the rich people who were willing to give money to mutants.
Charles promised he’d had a surprise for him if he went- and he hated surprises. Charles promised he’d love it and it’d make the night more enjoyable. He highly doubted that, but as he stood there in the sea of gowns and suits, he saw her. In that moment, he knew this was Charles’ surprise.
