The blackwater slowly flows by as owls swoop down to catch crayfish and limpkins poke and prod everywhere looking for snails. The trails I have always hiked are now underwater but I am not going to let that stop me. This is an environment that so many have been taught to fear, and while it does deserve respect it also deserve celebration for being one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
Cano Cristales - Crystal River. River of five colors, as the locals call it, originates in the south of the mountain chain Macarena, Colombia, and flows eastward to its confluence with the Guayabero river. In the Cano Cristales found five colors: yellow, blue, green, black and red. All of them are waste product of many algae and, depending on time of year, color saturation, or weakened or strengthened.
