Moses Coulee in Washington - a cliff of igneous rocks that were carved into a wall by the glacial outburst floods. A huge water lake held in place by a glacier, called Glacial Lake Missoula, repeatedly filled and rapidly emptied when the ice dam collapsed. Those floods headed out to sea, carving the channel in the foreground. This part of the channel hosts some of the largest sand bars from that flood.
