Striped Bass (Morone saxatilis)
Also known as the Atlantic striped bass, striper, linesider, rock, pimpfish or rockfish, the striped bass is a species of temperate bass that is native to the Atlantic coastline of North America and has been introduced inland and on the Pacific coast. Striped bass spawn in freshwater and spend their adult lives in saltwater. Adults can tolerate freshwater and will move up tributaries to spawn, returning to salt water after spawning. Striped bass are predators and will feed on smaller fish and a variety of invertebrates.
