Morning Glory

Old friends pass away, new friends appear. It is just like the days. An old day passes, a new day arrives. The important thing is to make it meaningful: a meaningful friend - or a meaningful day.

- the Dalai Lama

There’s more coming.

Next, it’s time for July and the chief to have a little heart to heart.

grace

I keep having the strangest dreams… Today I get to go to ma FAVORITE vegan cafe in Seoul (aka the only one I’ve visited). Woke today with joy+fear. Foy? Jear? Fearjoy? Fearjoy sounds nice. Like one of those words self-help authors create. Fearjoy.

Yesterday I got home and I started singing
Joyful, joyful, lord we adore thee
God of glory, lord of love

This morning my friend asked me, “are you a Christian?”
I said, “yes and no.”

The first long discussion I’d like to have when I meet god is why there is free will. And, please give me the best definition of grace.

“I want to confess to someone, and I need your help.”
    “No.”
    “Please?”
    “Absolutely not.”
“Pretty please with cheese on top?”
“Fine. Make it extra cheese, and we never speak of this again.”

    Warnings: no archive warnings apply
Additional tags: fluff, ice skating, established relationship
Summary: Mattsun’s fingers slipped through the gaps between Hanamaki’s, lacing their fingers together and squeezing tightly as he moved his second foot forward. His hand went to splay across the wall for extra support, legs taking steps centimeters at a time as his skates clicked. Hanamaki followed quickly, stepping into the rink with ease and balance as a hand went to curve around Mattsun’s elbow.
“If I fall on my face, you’re kissing it better.”
In which Matsukawa is a clumsy, cocky idiot, Hanamaki is hardly tolerant, and maybe they’re a little too in love.

    Rating: T
    Warnings: no archive warnings apply
Additional tags: spinoff, friends to lovers, truth or dare, banter, hijinks & shenanigans, sleepovers, sloppy makeouts
Summary: Hanamaki learned several truths that night: one, that Oikawa Tooru does indeed use product to style his hair, but Iwaizumi Hajime does too; two, that Kindaichi is actually a very good rapper and Hanamaki takes back every time he had thought Kindaichi was anything other than a lean, mean, rhyme-spitting machine; and three, that French-kissing his best friend was actually really, really fun.
Or: How Hanamaki Takahiro doesn’t realize he’s a little in love with his best friend until they’re already kissing.

I re-watched The Vision of Escaflowne with my friends recently and was inspired! I like to imagine that Van and Hitomi can still sense the other’s presence in their life, even if they can’t physically be in the same realm. I think their bond is something that reaches beyond the distance between them.

Zinnias represent thoughts of an absent friend. In China the morning glory is a symbol of two lovers (Chien Niu and Chih Neu) who are separated and only allowed to see each other one day a year.
