HAHAHAHAHAHA OH MY GOD WHAT
I’m sorry but… what is this? Christ was not a fem… HOW DO YOU KNOW IF HE WAS A FEMINIST? This just reeks stupidity I swear. Look at the little smirk on her face like if she just said something witty and smart. While doing some basic research for this post I came across this post entitled: “Christian Feminism is not an oxymoron” where the author, Vicky Beeching, was quoted saying the following:
“Jesus was a feminism and so am I. The manner in which he treated women in his social era was revolutionary. He gave them respect, dignity and worth. His behaviour meshes perfectly with the definition of feminism: “Feminism: a collection of movements aimed at defining, establishing and defending equal political, economic, social rights and equal opportunities for women.”
Umm… Jesus was a feminism? WHAT THE ACTUAL S***. Yeah I’m sure you’re a feminism too. I mean just looking at this you can tell it’s poorly written. It’s not much better than my writing but at least I revise my work. Jeez.
But to the actual quote itself, all I really have to say is… no. The definition of “feminism” (which I have no idea where you got it from because no results came even close to that up when I looked it up which lead me to think you wrote that yourself) doesn’t even correlate to what Jesus did, even if Jesus existed, which I am skeptical of. How does giving respect and recognition to people define, establish, and defend “equal political, economic, social rights and equal opportunities for women?” Respect and recognition of one Israeli man who, for your information, only had 12 followers (which is pretty sad for the supposed son of God). Even 8 year olds on Instagram have more followers than him. Plus how does you being a disciple of Christ automatically make you a feminism. If you take one small peek into the Bible (especially Deuteronomy and Exodus, yuck) you’d find a whole plethora of misogynistic crap there. Lets take a look at some of this stuff that makes you a “feminist” shall we?
If a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as male servants do. Exodus 21:7
If, however the charge is true and no proof of the girl’s virginity can be found, she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death. Deuteronomy 22:20-21.
For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head. 7 A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. 8 For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; 9 neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. 1 Corinthians 11:2-10
If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, 29 he shall pay her father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives. Deuteronomy 22:28-29
Like COME ON are you for real? There is a reason conservatives have such bad views towards women, and you follow them! I’m not saying you can’t be Christian/Mormon/LDS etc. and be a feminist but just choose one or the other! Pick a side or have none at all! I know you probably want to appeal to both sides because you might have an inferiority complex or something but for real just stop.
In the end, Jesus was NOT a
feminism feminist and you can’t justify being a feminist because of your beliefs because your beliefs are exactly what feminists are against. Stop being such an indecisive bigot and choose:
Religion or Feminism?
