more than life itself

Clip: That scene in Pretty Woman when Julia Roberts sang Prince’s “Kiss” in the bathtub

“Don’t you just love Prince?” Vivian (Julia Roberts) states after Edward (Richard Gere) catches her singing along to Prince’s “Kiss,” while sporting headphones and accompanied by her Walkman in a large bubble bath. “More than life itself,” he replies. Surprisingly, the actual song performed by Prince doesn’t play in the film and isn’t featured on the soundtrack album.

My favorite part about this kiss is how intense Dylan/Stiles’ face is. He’s kissing her like she’s his lifeline, the air he breathes. He’s so consumed in this moment, in this kiss, in Lydia. You can feel how much he loves her and how much this moment means to him. This is everything Stiles has spent the past 10 years building up to, and the intensity with which he kisses Lydia is like none I’ve ever seen. Lydia holds onto to Stiles, kissing him back just as forcefully, and we get this incredible moment that seems to stop time. I just can’t get over how much you can tell that this is quite possibly the most important day of Stiles’ life just by the expression he makes when kissing Lydia. It’s gentle and intense and heartbreaking all at the same time. You can feel the gentleness he possesses for Lydia, but it’s also this intense fire that burns hot enough to consume them both. It’s so amazing that these two completely opposite things can exist simultaneously in just one expression. Dylan never ceases to amaze me with how much he understands Stiles as a character and his unconditional love for Lydia.

O God of my life, I’m love-sick for You in this weary wilderness! I thirst with the deepest longings to love You more, with cravings in my heart that cannot be described. Such yearning grips my soul for You, O God! I’m energized whenever I enter Your heavenly sanctuary to seek more of Your power and to drink in more of Your glory.

For Your tender mercies to me mean more than life itself! How I love and praise You, God! Daily I will worship You. Passionately and with all my heart. My arms will wave to You like banners of praise. I overflow with praise when I come before You, for the anointing of Your presence satisfies me like nothing else. You are such a rich banquet of pleasure to my soul. Psalm 63:1-5 TPT

Supernatural: 10 Lessons From Tonight’s Episode.

“First Blood,” Season 12, episode 9.

1.  The Winchesters acting dangerous in prison garb reawakened a kink I’d forgotten I had.

2.  They are also objectively terrifying.

(And yet still moral:  after all, they did escape from maximum security without ever having to kill anyone.)

3.  And probably escapees from an eighties action movie.

4.  Dean with fuzzy bedhead worriedly calling his boyfriend is something I never knew I needed.

5.  Cas loves his stupid Winchester family more than life itself.

6.  They are also driving him to the point of an emotional breakdown.

Look at him.  He’s about to fucking cry, and all because they can’t go two seconds without their compulsive messiah complex bullshit.

7.  But on a more positive note, Dean undeniably loves him back

Look at this face.  This is not the face of a man looking at a “little brother figure.”  This is the face of a man looking at his one true love, and it is beautiful.

8.  Every one of the British Men of Letters has an inexplicably intense, homoerotic fixation on Cas.

Maybe they all have an angel fetish?

9.  Crowley remains an unapologetically salty bitch, and I hope that never, ever changes.

Also, every interaction he has with Cas is a gift.

10.  Destiel is real and beautiful.

Look at these two platonic bro pals riding in the back seat together (and low-key probably holding hands.)  Another thing Dean has insisted he’d never, ever do.  Just like shorts.  And wearing women’s underwear.  And cucumber water.

It’s almost as if he systematically hides aspects of himself that might viewed as “feminine,” or “not straight.”  Whatever could that mean, I wonder.

gentle reminder

not having a partner or not being married does not mean that you’re worthless; being single does not mean you are broken or defective, you have worth on your own, and even if no one appreciates it now someday you will find someone who loves you more than life itself - please try your best to not give up hope

No but for fuck’s sake

  • They are brothers. Brothers
  • The first time James calls Sirius brother is when his mother introduces them to a stranger and Sirius could feel his heart almost coming out of his cage, the blood thumping against the walls of his veins, because he is the brother of the one person he loves more than life itself.
  • They are brothers in every way but blood.
  • The first time Euphemia introduces Sirius as her son is somewhere in the King’s Cross, just loud enough for Walburga to hear. Sirius feels the blood in his veins change colour, it’s no longer black, it’s red.
  • They are brothers and they knew it before they met.
  • The first time Sirius calls Euphemia mum is unintentional but it feels more genuine than all the times he had called Walburga mother and Euphemia knows, she knows he didn’t mean to but she wouldn’t have it any other way. He is of her blood but he doesn’t know.
  • They are a family.
  • Sirius breaks down as bad as James does when he receives the news, one right after the other. He tries to stand tall at the funerals as the taller boy seems so small suddenly, he feels his blood trying to leave his body as if the veins confining them aren’t enough anymore.
  • They are alone.
  • But they have each other and that’s more than anyone could as for, Sirius loses the one person he cared about that shared his blood and the red on his knuckles is wiped away by James.
  • People die.
  • But they don’t, they hang on the each other, they save each other’s life countless times. Sirius tries to pay back James for all the times he saved his life, it’s not enough. When James is hit by one of the worst hexes Sirius had seen, he would give anything to be the one to bleed out on the floor.
  • Babies are born.
  • When James asks Sirius to be the godfather, he feels magic float around his veins instead of blood. He feels tied to the small boy in his arms staring up at him, he hears his small heart beating and swears he would do anything to keep the blood running in his veins.
  • He is gone.
  • Sirius walks slowly into the house he knows so well but it’s so different because his blood is not the same anymore. As he crouches next to the body of his brother, his fingers just about to close his eyes, Sirius’ blood changes colour and it’s black once more.
  • He wants revenge.
  • And he gets what he doesn’t deserve, his blood is frozen still because James is gone and all the promises he made to the small boy are gone.

Could you imagine how hard it must’ve been for Garnet to make that decision? To just… let him go? Knowing she couldn’t follow?

Steven is her son, and she loves him as much as a fusion of love can- which is more than life itself. But she’s also a leader; the one Rose Quartz entrusted the Earth, and, more importantly, Amethyst and Pearl, to.

She knew Steven would go. She knew there was no stopping him; knew she couldn’t really do anything. And, for once, she had to make the conscious decision not to stand by his side, to not be there to protect him until after the fact.

She was there the last time he got involved with Homeworld tech. She’d told him to run and attempted to put up a fight. This time, all she could do was sit and wait, because anything else would doom them all. There would be no after. There would be nothing to pick up the pieces to. The Crystal Gems would’ve been found and shattered- or, at the very least, re-assimilated, while Steven, a Quartz, would have been bubbled and killed.

“All I’ve done since I got back is think of her, and how wonderful life would be if only I was brave enough.”
