#OttoWeek Days 1-3 Post (Because I Forget Things Easily)
Sorry, folks. I have not been good at keeping up with Otto Week!!!
Day 1: I Wish…
I wish that we saw quite a few things with our little muffin Otto. I do wish that they would delve a little more into his backstory. Why is he an orphan? What moment sparked his love for history? Why do the other children avoid him so much? How did Sister Thornly come across him? Knowing these things could make Otto a much more sympathetic dude in the eyes of Larry and Buck. It seems to me like he’s hiding a lot from them.
I also wish that we could see a few more heartfelt moments between the guys. Something to show us to what extent Otto loves the Time Squad, like a Father’s Day episode like I wanted to write or him saying “I love you” in a finale episode.
Day 2: Favorite relationship
Y'all know that I’m a BIG sucker for adoptive family relationships. Otto’s relationship with Buck and Larry is really sweet. Even though they hold him up to high standards like learning advanced science and doing his job in the Time Squad, you can tell that they still want him to be a kid. They feed him his favorite foods, do crafts with him, give him toys, play around with him, and later on in the series give him his own room. It’s a really sweet thing to see a genius child in cartoons being allowed to be a kid and not a deadpan pseudo-adult like you typically see.
Day 3: Favorite trope
Otto makes for an adorable little Keet. He’s tiny, shrill, and overly-excitable when it comes to history and you can’t help but want to hug him for it. He’s a real cute little guy.
