for one of my classes, I had to go to the CDC website and pick out a surveillance summary for a condition from the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report. I picked one that talked about Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest Cases. So I was reading, and reading and I came to a particular part that caught my attention. It didn't surprise me, but it caught my attention. According to the data in this surveillance program, “whites were significantly more likely to receive CPR [from bystanders] than blacks, Hispanics, or members of other racial/ethnic populations.” Well of course they are, I mean, I didn’t need any study to tell me that, but I thought that it was interesting that this was pointed out in the study.
