Hoi An - Vietnam

Situated on the northern bank of the Thu Bon river in Quang Nam province, Hoi An is one of the most beautiful towns in Vietnam. Just 30km south of Danang, and close to many beautiful beaches, Hoi An was once a main trading port in Vietnam. Its old town boasts beautiful architecture, including historic homes such as the Old House of Tan Ky which dates back to the 18th century.

While agriculture and fishing are big industries in and around Hoi An, the town is most famous for its tailors. Most of the shops in the old town are occupied by talented tailors, who can make any custom outfit, for a relatively cheap price. The old town of Hoi An is built around the banks and canals of the river, and has almost no traffic, with many of the streets being closed to cars and motorbikes. On full moon nights, hand made lanterns are released into the river.
