month of the quran

The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful. - Surah Baqarah 185

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Whoever fasted the month of Ramadan out of sincere Faith (i.e. belief) and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his past sins will be forgiven, and whoever stood for the prayers in the night of Qadr out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven.

A'isha reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) (as saying): “One who is proficient in the Qur'an is associated with the noble, upright, recording angels; and he who falters in it, and finds it difficult for him, will have a double reward.” Sahih Muslim 798 a In-book reference : Book 6, Hadith 290

Happy 2 month shahadah anniversary to me 💛

“To all those broken or hopeless, I have learned this: Be grateful for every single person who was part of your story. The ones that hurt you. The ones that helped you. The ones that came, and the ones that left. They all taught you. Don’t think for a moment that any of it was random. There are no oversights with God. Only perfectly crafted chapters in each unique journey.

The poison leaves bit by bit, not all at once. Be patient. You are healing.”

The month of Ramadan is the month of kindness, charity and generosity. Plan to invite your neighbors, co-workers, friends, Muslims and non-Muslims to have Iftar/meal with you. Be more generous and help the poor and needy. Plan to give your alms and charity at this time and help others as much as you can.

It is reported in a hadith:

“The Prophet – peace be upon him - was the most generous person, but in Ramadan he used to be more generous when Gabriel used to meet him. Gabriel used to see him during Ramadan every night and he used to read the Quran with him. The Prophet –peace be upon him - was then more generous with goodness than the blowing wind.” (Al-Bukhari)

“There is a best season for everything and the best season of reciting the Holy Quran is the month of Ramadan.”

The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong). So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month (of Ramadan i.e. is present at his home), he must observe Saum (fasts) that month, and whoever is ill or on a journey, the same number [of days which one did not observe Saum (fasts) must be made up] from other days. Allah intends for you ease, and He does not want to make things difficult for you. (He wants that you) must complete the same number (of days), and that you must magnify Allah [i.e. to say Takbir (Allahu-Akbar; Allah is the Most Great) on seeing the crescent of the months of Ramadan and Shawwal] for having guided you so that you may be grateful to Him.

ISIS captors 'didn't even have the Quran,' says former hostage

A French journalist’s ISIS captives cared so little about religion they did not even have a Quran. Didier François, who spent over 10 months as the group’s prisoner in Syria, told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour in an exclusive interview.

“There was never really discussion about texts or — it was not a religious discussion. It was a political discussion. It was more hammering what they were believing than teaching us about the Quran.
Because it has nothing to do with the Quran.

Please share this here on tumblr, on facebook, and anywhere else that you think, in shaa’ allah, might be willing to contribute. May Allah reward you all. Here is his post from Facebook:

“I’ve been working on developing an app for the past 6 months. Essentially it’s the Quranic version of shazam which is able to pinpoint which verses in the Quran are being recited in and out of prayer. If you could please spread the word and pitch in even $1 it would mean a lot. Check out our kickstarter page for more info. Thanks! PLEASE SHARE!!!”

“And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquillity in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.”
