Here’s a butt ton of signage and stuff I did for Monsters Ate My Metropolis! I’ll slowly try posting more from this game, but its a lot to sift through. Sorry about the really long post, anyone know how to post a lot of gifs better than this?
Deadpool’s whirlwind romance with Shiklah was one of the most exciting times of his life. Traveling across the world, fighting all sorts of threats at her side, and finally marrying her as a way to thwart the evil vampire lord, Dracula. But since then, the reality has set in. Shiklah is a demon succubus, and more than that, the Queen of the monster kingdom hidden beneath Manhattan…and the problems between them continue to pile up.
Now, when an affront to Shiklah’s people demands justice, a line is crossed. As the Monster Metropolis declares war on the surface world, Deadpool must choose between the wife to whom he’s pledged himself and the role he’s been crafting for himself as a hero. Also featuring Spider-Man and the Mercs for Money, this is one domestic dispute that’s really going to break some things up.

You know what’s weird? Dracula, of all books, is an excellent model of how to do harrowing stories without alienating those in the audience who don’t care for cynicism.
The circumstances of the book are not pretty at first appearances. An immortal monster has reached the metropolis and is spreading his hellish influence by draining the blood of young women. These women, now undead, prey on children in turn. The protagonists confront sleeplessness, grief, nervous shocks, anxiety, heartbreak, post-traumatic stress, and the hopeless task of defeating the aforementioned immortal monster leeching life away from them. Their immortal souls are at stake if they fail, and their parent-figures keep dying as all this goes on.
And yet Dracula is a relentlessly uplifting book. Despite the pain and fear and failure, the protagonists are all honorable, intelligent folk. They work hard and support one another. Mina’s instinct to type out her journal and that of her husband as evidence of the recent supernatural events brings Professor Van Helsing to tears - he, the scholarly vampire hunter, is crying because a young schoolmistress reacts to a crisis by documenting it efficiently. Jack, Arthur, and Quincey don’t squabble pointlessly over Lucy. They accept her choice of husband and gladly lend her their blood when Dracula drains her. All seven of the characters are constantly monitoring one another, ensuring that psychological triggers and emotional stress are prevented. The men are forever praising Mina and she is grateful to them in turn.
Cynicism has its place, but I certainly prefer works like this. If a Gothic horror novel about the king of the vampires is more uplifting than the latest Superman movie, something is screwy.

Until now, plot details of Pixar’s next film “Inside Out” have been kept under wraps. But on Monday, the studio released the synopsis of the Pete Docter-directed movie, which features a star-studded cast as the emotions.
“From the tepuis of South America to a monster-filled metropolis, Academy Award®-winning director Pete Docter has taken audiences to unique and imaginative places. In 2015, he will take us to the most extraordinary location of all – inside the mind of an 11-year-old named Riley.
Spider-Man finally agrees to hang out with Deadpool outside of
adventures, but he might regret it when he discovers that his date is a
friend of Deadpool’s wife, Shiklah, demon queen of Monster Metropolis!
Monster Metropolis is a large city located underneath New York. It is accessible by sewer or The Alley. It is home to many monsters, mutants, aliens, and those humans rejected or experimented on by their own kind. It acts as a safe haven and is protected by The Legion of Monsters.
