Dysphoria Tips

To start this post off, not all of these tips will work for everyone! Everyone’s dysphoria is different and everyone has different things that help!

Also, I am not a doctor or anything like that! And I am a trans guy, so that’s what this is all coming from, I can try to look up how other genders deal with dysphoria, but I think a lot of these ones will also help other genders

- Showering (I know this doesn’t help everyone)
Okay, so I know it may seem like confronting your physical form may not be the right thing to do, and it might not be, but for me taking a shower/bath really helps because I focus more on the routine and what I’m washing than my actual body
Also! Using products that match your gender might really help!! I use the more “masculine” smelling products for my body and it’s super nice ^^ They also have products that are more “gender neutral” if that’s more your thing

- Do something distracting that you enjoy
For example, I love going on walks, drawing, writing, and gaming and any of things things could be distractions from things that you don’t want to think about! You of course don’t need to pick one of the things I enjoy doing, there are lots of things you could do like sports, blogging, listening to music, hanging out with your pets (they aren’t going to judge you!), etc.

- Find someone who won’t judge you!
I know this might be hard for some of you, but I know that I have at least one person to talk to every time I get upset about this sort of thing! My friends will not misgender me, and they will reassure me that I am a guy and I do pass, and all that good stuff! If someone is hurting you and misgendering you and not respecting you, you can cut them out of your life! You are not obligated to keep these people around because of their feelings
Pets can be used for this too! Your animals will never judge you :3 Hell, they probably don’t even know what gender is :D

- Find things about yourself that you like
This doesn’t have to be about your body, but it can be! If you take the time to think about positive aspects of yourself, you might feel a little better. And if you can think about the positive things about your body, like the color of your eyes or the shade of your skin, or how great your smile is, or how cool your hair was in that one selfie, it might make you feel a little better about how you’re feeling about yourself right now c:
If you don’t want to or can’t think about positive things about your body, try thinking about things you’re good at or things you like about your personality! Like how great of a person you are, how nice you can be, how cool you are, or how dedicated you are! Something like that!

- Treat yourself
I know not everyone can go buy themselves their favorite dinner or anything like that due to money, but you can do simple things like watch your favorite movie! Or just let yourself eat that expensive ice cream you bought last week :3 Curl up in your favorite blanket with that one pillow that’s just right, or put on that makeup/outfit that you love! It’s in the little things

- Try not to think about “passing”
I know this is extremely hard, but “passing” is just a social construct. Nobody “looks like a boy” because boys can look like anyone, and the same goes for other genders as well! This is definitely a hard thing to tell yourself, especially since a lot of people don’t get it, but it might help some of you!

- Find inspiration!
Find someone who you look up to, or who is transitioning/has transitioned. Some people (like me) might feel resentment at them for being further into their transition than them, but other might (and should try to) be filled with hope and positivity by seeing that things get better and that it is possible to change yourself into how you want to (or do) see yourself

- Look back
If you’ve already started your transition, look back to months, or years ago! You will be surprised at how far you’ve come
You might even feel more hopeful about the future after having seen how much you’ve changed since before

- Find people to talk to
Find people who are, or have been, in the same or a similar scenario; they know what it’s like and they may be able to help you! They can share what it was like for them and what helped them

- Just. Stop.
Seriously, if you can, don’t do anything that day. Sometimes, people just need a break or some time alone. So, if you’ve been saving up those hours at work, take the day off if you can! If you know there’s nothing important at school the next day, try to stay home and not put yourself through more stuff
Keep yourself safe and comfortable during your break! Maybe use this time to use one of the other techniques at the same time ^^

- Keep a diary
This might seem silly, but I keep a diary off and on and it really helps me! Sometimes people just need to open up, but not to a person
I named my diary Tina, so it kind of felt like I was talking to a person, though haha
Also, just getting all of this down on paper (or on the screen) might help

- Wear your favorite outfit!!
Find that outfit that makes you feel like a hundred bucks and wear it! It doesn’t matter if you’re staying in your house or going somewhere, wear that outfit and own it! Take a lot of pictures if you like the way it looks c:

- Selfies
Take selfies when you look hella good and how you want to look, so that when you’re feeling down and dysphoric, you can look back at your selfies and be like “damnnn I look hot”

- Workout
This might seem like a horrible idea, but I’ve heard that it works wonders! Just go get beefy or run into your legs feel like jelly
This might also help you sleep, which might help by getting rid of your thoughts

- Sleep
If you can take a nap, or just crash out, do it! You don’t have anything planned and these thoughts won’t stop? Go to sleep. You won’t be thinking of anything if you’re unconscious

- Avoid negativity
If you know someone is going to bring you down, avoid them
Same goes with places! If you know that a certain place is going to be negative or bring negative thoughts on, it’s probably best to avoid that place

- Drink ice water
I find that the painfully cold liquid can really wipe the mind with it’s shocking temperature

- Meditate
If you’re into meditation, or want to try it, I hear it does wonders to find that inner peace and just forget you have a body or end up thinking more positively about that body

- Watch your favorite show
Focusing on something you love, like a series filled with interested characters who aren’t you and find themselves in lots of situations can really take your mind off of things

- Burn incense or candles
Burn it right next to your bed (carefully tho) and make sure it’s a scent that you love! This way, if you don’t get out of bed, you can still have something to enjoy

- Read
Read a book, or a fanfiction, or anything that will capture your full attention, so that you have something better to focus on

- Modify your body!!
Like piercings, and hair dye, and stuff! Hell, even those temporary tattoos are pretty cool :3 This way, you can feel like you’re doing stuff to your body on your own terms
You can even just draw on yourself with a sharpie or something!

- Clean
Maybe just do some laundry or put things in neat little piles! Any amount of stress taken off will feel super good and also you might find that one outfit you lost months ago! (if you’re anything like me haha)

- Name and pronouns
Write down your name and pronouns on things to make you feel a little better seeing that that’s what you want to be called, and it can just be written down like that!
You could also ask some supportive friends to read them or just call you by them for no reason at the moment haha

-  Take up a new hobby
You could spend the time you spend being dysphoric, doing something you enjoy! Learn a new language, or learn how to do arts and crafts, or buy some gardening supplies!

- Save up money
Just stick some coins from the dryer in a jar and start saving up for your transition! It’ll make you feel like things are going faster than they are

And remember: You are valid! No matter what anyone tells you, or how you feel, you are valid! <3

This post contains the intention of pointing out basic physical traits according to ascendant/rising sign.  Planets conjunct the ascendant can modify the overall physical body feature and appearance.

With Aries rising with physical body becomes ruled by planet Mars.  Distinctive facial feature are often present that really stand.  The face itself can be of a triangular shape; often long and thick while possessing high cheek bones.  The forehead is often of a broad stature with hair that is rough or wiry.  The hair line, especially in men, is prone to a receding nature at the temple and prone to early hair loss.

Prominent eye brows are usually present, sometimes being bushy.  The neck line is often thick and muscular; especially if it’s worked on. Often the face, temple or forehead region have scars or marks on them that are distinguishable.

The physical body itself often contains a strong up rite bone structure to support a muscular and athletic body tone.  Despite a more muscular build the body height can be a bit shorter towards average in most cases.  The skin can be golden or have a bronze type tint to it.  The walking is confident with an upright posture about it.  There is much purpose in the steps often ripe with determination.  A healthy looking complexion is a strong way to sum up the overall physical physique.

Hair removal, at its core, is a form of gendered social control. It’s not a coincidence that the pressure for women to modify their body hair has risen in tandem with their liberties, Herzig argues. She writes that the effect of this hairlessness norm is to “produce feelings of inadequacy and vulnerability, the sense that women’s bodies are problematic the way they naturally are.”

so u guys know in sombra’s origin video where she’s looking at all these connections and there’s that third little blank bubble by the shimada brothers??? i think the third shimada brother has to be junkrat’s tire and here’s why

  • it can climb up walls. you know who else can climb walls? genji and hanzo
  • it’s associated with fire. like a dragon. that only shimadas can control.
  • hanzo probably tried to kill him too and he had his body modified into a tire in a procedure that barely saved his like and now junkrat carries with him at all times, not knowing the identity of his new pal

your move blizzard👀

Cross!Chara must be pretty happy having corporeal form again. Guess you could say they're X-static! In all seriousness though, there was something I was wondering? Was there something preventing Chara from absorbing all of Underswap!Chara's Soul? Because they mention being at 95% power... Why stop there when you're so close to full power?

This is a good question, and also a good pun XD

This Chara can’t have the 100% of a human soul because he still trapped on Cross’ body. They still have a body modified by a code that doesn’t allow them to be separated. Cross is now just a fragment of code because he doesn’t have a trait to still alive without HP like Cross!Chara’s Determination. If Cross!Chara didn’t have this trait before he could be just a code fragment, too. That’s why he had a “ghost” appearance when Cross got half of Original Sans’ soul.

Also, Cross could take 0.9 of a monster soul, but, as I said in an old ask, he was being generous with Sans because it wasn’t his intention to hurt people.

Marriage is About Property Rights to a Woman’s Body

Marriage isn’t about love. You don’t need a legal contract to prove that you love somebody. And if you wanna have a religious ceremony to devote your love to each other, you don’t need laws for that, either.

You need laws to establish parenthood, particularly, fatherhood.

Fatherhood can’t exist without a legal system to back it up; unlike motherhood, which is natural, fatherhood is a social construct.

We all know who the mother of a child is because the child emerges from the mother. The mother creates the child.

The father ejaculates and abandons his genetic material inside of the mother, and her body then modifies this material and does all of the work of the work in actually gestating a human being. A man may not even be aware that a child is being created, totally ignorant to the fact–such is his relevance to creation.

Patriarchy means “rule by the father” and describes the manner in which men take legal possession over the children created by women’s bodies.

Marriage is that ceremony by which men take legal possession over women’s bodies. Marriage does not give women any such power over men.

Men do not sacrifice their bodies to create children. Women do not take ownership over a man’s body to create children.

In order for women to be free and liberated, we must abolish the oppressive institution of marriage and establish a communal matriarchal family structure that ensures children will be cared for by groups rather than by a single mother in the home.

Entering the park, you strip away the layers of your vision.

Gone is the default public layer which would tell you where you are, what time it is, what the weather is going to be, where to walk to best avoid crowds. Gone is the layer provided by the park specifically, which would attach to each bird and tree a label indicating its species and providing various fun facts, and which would show you the history of each bench and sculpture. Gone are the social media layers giving windows into the lives of your friends, gone are the couple of augmented reality games that are normally an ambient presence in your life. You keep on an emergency layer, so that if someone needs to contact you or there’s a disaster, you’ll know. But otherwise reality is stripped down to its bottom layer, the shared physical world you can’t choose to opt out of.

You sit down on a bench. Nearby, on what used to be a basketball court, a group of teenagers are playing a game. With all your layers off, you can only see half of what’s going on: You can see the players running around, but not the game world which coordinates and motivates their actions. Judging by their yelling and their gestures, you infer that they’re working together to defeat some large monster by casting spells at it.

One of the kids crouches and then jumps eight feet straight into the air. You’re not old, but you’re old enough that this seems strange, all these human bodies doing things that human bodies can’t do. It’s often said that such augmentations are improvements on evolution’s work (the less blasphemous cousin of an older boast) but you know that that’s not really true. Modified bodies like the child’s consume more calories and are more damage-prone. In an environment like the one their ancestors evolved in, they would probably have starved to death or been immobilized by injury. Now, food is plentiful and deadly injuries are rare, so such concerns are less of an issue. It’s not that augmented bodies are better than unmodified ones in an objective sense, just that they’re optimized for a drastically different world.

For all the yelling of the children and chirping of the birds, there’s a certain quietness to the world stripped bare of its extraneous layers. Watching a small flock of birds peck at birdseed someone scattered in the grass before you arrived, there’s a certain… You don’t want to say realness: You know better than to pretend that the things that happen in the other layers are unreal, and you’ve only recently kicked the habit of calling the base layer “the real world”. You don’t want to say authenticity: You’re pretty sure those are starlings, you know the whole stupid story of how they came to be in North America, and there’s nothing authentic about it. But there’s a concreteness, at least, in knowing that those birds exist for everyone in the park, and not just for you.

Humans in Space theory.

Humans can warp probability.

I read this book, a hard sci fi novel in high school. Fucked if I can remember the title but the basic premise was that there was a brain-nanite thing that you could inhale and it would change things. Also the Aliens enclosed the whole solar system in some sort of shield. Nothing in, nothing out.

There was a woman who was part of an experiment in probability. Her brain-mod would allow her to not only predict, but alter the ‘up’ or ‘down’ spin of some sort of ion or another that was completely random.

But think about it. Humans are against ALL ODDS the craziest, most intelligent, cruelest, most compassionate, gentlest, harshest beings. There’s no predicting a human because we don’t actually follow the universal laws of probability. To attempt to graph our behavior patterns in a sane quantifiable manner leaves you a little nuts. We perservere, survive. We have NO CHILL when it comes to some things, and are extremely lax about others. We can’t really be predicted, because we’re always altering our realities.

Even our greatest heroes face ‘impossible’ odds and survive. Especially, even. A human is at their shining best when the entire universe is in a point of flux. When choices become the most important things we have. We stare into the blackness between the stars and wonder. Hope. Dream. Wish. We change energy with a thought. We reach out and touch not just things but people, hearts, minds.

Aliens just watch us and are either baffled, indulgent, or terrified. We’re tiny beings in the grand scheme. Numerous but fragile. Perfectly adapted to hostile environs. We have taken aggressive adaptation to the point of modifying our bodies for our environments synthetically. We can take a situation from ‘we’re all gonna die’ to ‘holy shit we lived’ with just one flash of genius. We can stare into the face of danger and smile. We live for those life or death adrenaline scenarios. Some of us have made entire careers out of being batshit crazy.

Humans warp probability.

It’s technically classed as a psi ability in some alien lexicons, but one that’s passive. There’s various grades of it too. Captain Kirk, for instance, is like ‘Let’s make some noise’ and they all survive. Han Solo says ‘Never tell me the odds!”. Arthur Dent reaches into a bag and produces the question that fits the answer. River Tam turns the tide of battle with a mental flip of a switch. Samantha Carter again and again builds doorways between stars, sometimes with nothing more than her wits and the equivalent of a paperclip and tinfoil. Jane Foster survives longer than anyone else ever has with the literal force of chaos flowing through her veins. If she wasn’t human, she’d never have lived long enough to save her world.

These are all people who are extraordinary, who through their sheer humanity have built new futures.

Aliens can’t quanitfy us because we’re chaos in motion. Rogue physics, the edges of cosmic constants. Variables with no fixed value. We make choices, and reach out and touch other beings, and we take logic and probability and the most likely outcome of things and twist them into new shapes. It’s more than just creative thinking, high-stakes adaptation, or even empathy.

A human can literally even the odds.

That’s why alien crews like keeping humans around. We’re crazy and unpredictable and able to survive just about anything. We’re loyal for the most part, to love or money or Crew. Once a human decides that you’re theirs, they will literally warp the universal constants for their crew.

That’s our alien superpower, I think.
