It is winter here in the Northern Hemisphere and baby, it’s cold outside here in the Pacific Northwest. With the winter holidays and all the traditions of gathering with friends and family over delicious foods and warm beverages on my mind, I was reminded of these wonderfully cozy throws made by Modern Fiber Lab’s, Sonya Jong James.

The inspiration for this necklace is the nomadic people of Mongolia. I imagine yurts, camels, sheep, the Gobi, and all the wool felt clothing that the nomads have worn and made by hand for centuries. I am also inspired by the huge chunky necklaces that I have seen and admired.
