Lesson #11: Where Are You From? I'm From:

In this lesson we’ll learn how to say “where are you from?” “I am from ______” and a few countries.

This is fairly handy to have if you get lost in Korea or if someone asks what country you’re from and you happen to be very patriotic and not shy at all!

Firstly, let’s start with “where are you from?”
어디에서 왔어요?
(eo-di-e-seo wa-sseo-yo)

This means where are you from but can be more specific, when you ask a native Korean speaker.

한국 어디에서 왔어요? - Where in Korea are you from?
(han-guk eo-di-e-seo wa-sseo-yo)

You can of course replace Korea with the country of the person you are talking to!

Now, when we say we’re from in Korean we say:

________ 에서 왔어요.
(e-seo wa-sseo-yo)

And below I will list as many countries as I can in hopes yours pops up and you just slide it into that blank just like that and you can say where you’re from in Korean! Easy right?
