People call Rio Tinto Stadium ‘The Fortress’ for a very good reason; Jason Kreis and Real Salt Lake haven’t dropped a match there since May 2009.

And anyone who casually follows the MLS knows one thing is for sure: RSL has been near unstoppable early this season. Like, scary good, as if they are in a league of their own. As for Monterrey? Well, the pundits haven’t quite figured out how to evaluate them since they are plague with inconsistency.

With some head-scratching and flash from the first leg of the final in Monterrey last week, the two sides ended up with a 2-2 draw. With the home-and-away aggregate format bringing RSL back to their fortress, we can only hope for a clear win for RSL tonight.

There will be a CONCACAF Champion tonight, and again, we should all stand united behind Real Salt Lake. This is a big occasion and a great team to anchor the pressure. Good luck, RSL! Win this one for the league!

CONCACAF Champions League Final (2nd Leg)
Monterrey @ Real Salt Lake
Wednesday, April 27th
7 PM (PT) / 10 PM (ET)
Fox Soccer Channel
(stream here or register for free at CONCACAF TV)

Tonight, Major League Soccer asks for you to set aside you team allegiances for just a few hours, and support Real Salt Lake in the CONCACAF Champions League final against Mexican side, Monterrey. This marks the first time that an MLS team has made it to the CCL finals.

The winner of the home-and-away final will go on to represent CONCACAF in the FIFA Club World Cup, with past notable winners including Manchester United, Barcelona, and A.C. Milan, among others.

If you don’t really want to cheer on Real Salt Lake specifically, think of it as cheering for the MLS. This is a really big deal for the league. And you can think of it in the same vein as FC Dallas’ Andrew Jacobson, “We’re rooting for you, just this one time.”

You can catch the match LIVE tonight (Wed. Apr 20) on Fox Soccer Channel at 10PM ET/7PM PT.

Stream here: or you can register for FREE at CONCACAF TV (although, they notoriously have awful online commentators).

Get it, Real!
