Last week I had the opportunity to shoot an unveiling event for the City of Los Angeles. I stood alongside Council Member Jose Huizar and the Historic Core BID to get a first look at the Capitol Garment Building that will soon be reopening to the public. For more information visit the links below.

George Quaintance

Before Tom of Finland, Etienne, or Harry Bush, there was George Quaintance. Born in 1902, he managed to break free of the stifling atmosphere of repression surrounding homosexuality during his life and create full-blooded, vibrant, and very suggestive works of art. While the censorship laws of the time meant he was unable to paint full-frontal nudity, the eroticism of his paintings are almost heightened by the lack of genitalia—in hinting at something the audience will never be able to fully witness, it’s as if his pieces are forever teasing us. The Flamboyant Life and Forbidden Art of George Quaintance opens at TASCHEN July 2 and will run through August 31. For more information, visit their website.

I just got a call from a local radio station, Radio Now Indy 100.9, and they just made my dreams come true. So this was the conversation:

Max: So Amber, do you have any idea why I would have called you?

Me: Well, I entered to win to see taylorswift

Max: Yes, well we’ve picked you to win.

GUYS! I am flying out to LA to see taylorswift play LIVE AT THE STABLES CENTER! WHAT EVEN!? My brain in mush, I am freaking out I feel like this is all a lie. Like Seriously? I am getting to go see Taylor Freakin Swift in LA????
