As the image says, this playlist is dedicated to The Expanse universe. Songs are supposed to mimic the same feeling I got while reading the books so far (reading Caliban’s War atm), and they are also something I imagine would go well in the show, too. There’s a mix of different genres such as electronic music, rock, to just chill and relaxing stuff. Basically, anything goes.
CAN’T FEEL MY FACE - THE WEEKND (I don’t know if you even realize you’re doing it, but you mouth along with the words every time this song comes on the radio) HARD OUT HERE - LILY ALLEN (yeah, yeah, it’s a girly song but Lily speaks true) HERE - ALESSIA CARA (I don’t think anyone has ever described so well what it’s like to party with our classmates. At least, I assume, I don’t know, you’re the one who actually gets invited, you tell me) STRAWBERRY SWING - FRANK OCEAN (I know you love Coldplay, but trust me - one you hear this, you’ll never go back to the original) GRADE 8 - ED SHEERAN (idk, this song just reminds me of you) WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE - ADELE (all hail Adele - this is my favorite off her new album) YOU’RE NOT THE ONLY ONE - JAMIE CULLUM (words to live by) SUPER TROUPER - ABBA (I’ll be in the crowd in spirt. Have a good game)
Calling Loki a villain, despite his many transgressions upon the people of earth, feels much too simple. We all understand Loki so much better than me understand most heroes. Loki is brooding, Loki is vain, Loki is depressed, Loki is flamboyant, Loki is a narcissist, Loki is pitiful, Loki is lonely, Loki is charming, Loki is magical, Loki is untrustworthy, Loki loves his mother, Loki doesn’t feel loved. These are songs about strutting and dancing and dressing for success, they’re also songs about the deep well of sadness that all of us hold inside ourselves and hide with all the tricks we’ve learned along the way.
The Faint, “Posed To Death”
Drake, “Know Yourself”
Hot Hot Heat, “Naked In The City Again”
Against Me!, “Transgender Dysphoria Blues”
Sia, “Elastic Heart”
Lana Del Rey, “Young and Beautiful”
The Smiths, “Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want”
How is it that a character who only has one line can also carry the strongest emotional punch of the entire MCU? The power of simplicity and emotional generosity is why my gift to Groot consists mostly of mainstream pop music: underestimated and dismissed as stupid or shallow, pop music actually reaches it’s arms (branches?) straight into our bodies and manipulates our heart parts (in a good way). It’s also fun to dance to, and we all know Groot loves to boogie.
quartz (tv on the radio) / i would plant a million roses every day (jed ford) / hey rose (streets of laredo) / show me something (audrey rose) / gaia queen (toby “radiation” fox) / plant life (owl city) / post physical (pictureplane) / wishing for a bond (shiro hamaguchi) / goodbye my son (hans zimmer) / i love you forever (two steps from hell)
Chance The Rapper's Album Has a Hell of a Feature List
According to a story on Chance The Rapper in GQ, Chance’s debut album is set to have an incredible lineup of features, including J. Cole, Frank Ocean, and Andre 3000.
On a separate note, Chance also previously announced a collaborative EP with Childish Gambino. Little has been given about the project, other than a remix of the Gambino song, “The Worst Guys” with an additional verse by Chance performed at Lollapalooza, and the Childish Gambino freestyle on Hot 97 from late in 2014, where he built up hype regarding the EP’s existence.
Chance has really been building a lot of hype for himself. From his first mixtape that gained him a cult following, the Acid Rap mixtape that received universal acclaim from critics and fans alike, headlining spots on the biggest festivals like Lollapalooza, and his awaited musical endeavors, which now include this star-studded array of features. Chance has a lot to live up to in what we hope is the near future, but if his previous efforts are any indicators, he’s sure to follow through. I’m very much anticipating this album.
