“She was the girl of the year, the IT girl, the girl for whose services every studio was in violent competition. This girl was the real thing , someone to stir every pulse in the nation.” - F. Scott Fitzgerald

The classic Boop-Oop-a-Doop song “I Wanna Be Loved By You” full with Boop’s and Doop’s is referenced in a 80’s Chipmunk episode which stars the Chipmunks female counterparts The Chipettes. The Chipettes are going to enter a talent show and Miss Miller who is currently attempting to foster them suggests that they perform one of her hit numbers, and they all dress up in flapper gear, suggesting that Miss Miller is from those times. One of the Chipettes tell her that it will be too old fashioned for the talent show but Miss Miller tells them that the number made her a star and it will do the same for them, indicating that she was a “Boop-Boop-a-Doop Girl”. After performing the number they win first place in the talent show, but Brittany tells Alvin that Miss Miller has awful taste in clothes, only for them to also win for best costumes. Brittany states that maybe Miss Miller has better taste than she thought, which brings Miss Miller to shed a tear. They are performing the original “Boop” version of I Wanna Be Loved, thus the reason for the flapper styled outfits.

I can’t get over how well written Phyrne Fisher is! She’s such a badass detective, but she has flaws and she makes mistakes. She’s just so REAL. I also love that she breaks all the rules even if it’s going to create choas. Why not spice things up in life, it’s way more fun that way!
There’s a Betty Boop reference in the new Powerpuff Girls series. Owlie Boop a vintage mascot (parody of Betty Boop) who apparently has the body of Miss Bellum causes havoc in Townsville. “Who, who who’s got it? Hooty-Hoot-Hooty-Hoo!” Owlie Boop is voiced by Sandrella Boop (Sandy Fox) the official voice of Betty Boop.
Thank you for letting me see that reference (The anon) I hope you like it, I saw your blog and I just instantly fell in love with your pony I am a big old classic cartoon fan, a betty boop fan and just a overall early culture lover and your pony is like all of that wrapped in one beautiful design! So i hope you like this >//v//< !!
Aww, I am touched by your complement. I love how you depicted Sassy as an innocent; demure flapper mare with heart (she does have more heart than brains)! Your take on my mare is gorgeous! I love her so much!
Thank you so much for all your effort and time. I must make this her new profile picture someday (no worries, you’ll be credited as the lovely artist >w<)~!
