Adrinette April Day 16 - Dance

had this scenario in my head for a little while and was like- is it too cliche? it's a bit cliche,, but is it too cliche?

anyway what if i roped you into waltzing with me platonically because you were my very good best friend but at the end after i dipped you i stared at your lips for a second too long and i think i might be catching feelings. haha can you imagine

“You know, it’s hard for me to feel temperatures properly in my super suit, but this is so warm and nice.”

“Well, congratulations,” Marinette chuckled. She bopped her fingertip against the tip of Chat’s nose, giggling when he went a touch cross-eyed at it with a great grin. “You’ve built your first successful pillow fort!”

Sitting cross-legged in the heart of their pillow fort, Chat Noir stared up at the blanket casting the both of them, the chairs, and the pillows all the gentlest, rosiest hue, his awe leaving him in little gasps and soft whispers of amazement. Cupping a mug of hot chocolate in her hands, Marinette found the rich scent mixed with the vanilla from the last of her room’s scent diffuser. She was warm to her toes as she laid back on some pillows she propped up against a chair, across from Chat. - A snippet of “by the railings to your soul” final chapter by @shizuumi151 for the mlbigbang!!

I still can’t get over what a great idea the Lovesquare is, for engaging people with a ship.

Just having two characters be cute together is fairly simple, but it’s rarely enough to get people super interested in it, to get really invested in the relationship. In a lot of media, the most interesting couple, and the one that’s written about the most, isn’t the canon one that the series is actually trying to push. The canon couple often has fairly shallow interactions, the relationship between the two characters isn’t as important or emotional as between a different set of characters (this happens in Shounen a lot, with rival characters almost always thinking about each other more often, being motivated BY each other, more than the protagonist and designated love interest are).

But with Adrien and Marinette, that’s not the case. Adrien and Chat Noir both play HUGELY important roles in Marinette’s life, and Marinette and Ladybug both play very important roles in Adrien’s - especially Ladybug. They’re constantly thinking of each other and taking actions BASED on each other, are motivated by each other. The relationship between the two of them is the bedrock the series rests on, whether romantic or platonic.

And then there’s the facets that the Lovesquare adds, the added angles and dynamics. Adrienette, Ladrien, Marichat, and Ladynoir - each have their own distinctive dynamics and things going on, and interactions on one side affects how they interact in at least two other sides of the square. It keeps things interesting and complicated, as well as presenting lots of different angles to explore the relationship between these two characters, and exploring the different sides of the characters themselves in the process.

Adrinette April Day 14 - Old Fashioned

i just think that we as a society should think about adrien in a dress more

this is inspired by that old american 50s style of illustration, with the bright colors and bright expressions,, not sure if i captured the essence, but an attempt was made!

my friend alaska gave me this idea, we were talking about adrien in a dress and they suggested i do this 50s style :)

i had a lot of fun with this one and i think it's really cute :))
