miracle leave in

So I kiss him, and there is the great dark sea ahead, and above the sheaves of yellow stars, shoals of cold bright pieces of light, and the great wind, blowing always cold gulps and gusts of air, big and soft in the tree leaves, hushing, miracles are happening, and I, strange and elated with a new wonder, child-like in my sudden power, look with eyes large in love and amazement at this intent lovely face so earnest, so close to mine.

Father John Misty - Pure Comedy

Father John Misty’s album Pure Comedy will be released April 7th, 2017, in Europe through Bella Union and the rest of the world from Sub Pop.

The comedy of man starts like this:
Our brains are way too big for our mother’s hips
So, nature, she devised this alternative:
We emerge half-formed and hope whoever greets us on the other end
Is kind enough
To fill us in
And, babies, that’s pretty much how it’s been ever since

Now the miracle of birth leaves a few issues to address
Like say that half of us are periodically iron deficient
So somebody’s gotta go kill something while I look after the kids
I’d do it myself, but what, are you gonna get this thing his milk?
He says as soon as he gets back from the hunt we can switch
It’s hard not to fall in love with something so helpless
Ladies, I hope we don’t end up regretting this

Now that’s what I call pure comedy
Just wait until the part where they start to believe
They’re at the center of everything
And some all powerful being
Endowed this horror show with meaning

Their religions are the best
They worship themselves but they’re totally obsessed
With risen zombies, celestial virgins, magic tricks
In these unbelievable outfits
And they get terribly upset
If you question their sacred texts
Written by woman-hating epileptics

Their languages just tend to confuse them
Their confusion somehow makes them more sure
Now they’re much too bright for the old superstitions
But they’re yet to find a new one they won’t serve

Where did they find these clowns they elected to rule them
They recline in outrage at the
These mammals are hell-bent on fashioning new gods
So they can go on being godless animals

Their illusions that are all that they can see
Their horizons that just forever recede
How’s this for irony:
Their idea of being free
Is a prison of beliefs
They’ve every right to never leave

It’s like something that a madman would conceive
The only thing that seems to makes them feel alive
Is the struggle to survive
But the only thing that they request
Is something to numb the pain with
Until there’s nothing human left

Just random matter suspended in the dark
Hate to say it, but each other’s all we’ve got

I’ve tried to write this several times but I can never decide what I want to say or if I’m even saying it right but anyway. Today, on her side of the world, is my friend Phoebe’s birthday. You might know her as @actingharold. Happy Birthday Pheebs!  It’s also Tom Glynn-Carney’s birthday as well (Feb. 7th but we’re on Australian time for the sake of this post), whom I’m sure you’ve noticed, Pb is quite fond of, I mean…how neat is that?

Even if you don’t know Phoebe, you’ve probably seen her amazing edits and gifs floating around on your dash, so you know how talented and creative she is. Maybe you’ve seen one of her selfies, so you know how beautiful she is. Stunning really, it’s pretty incredible. If you’ve ever talked to her, then you know how funny and kind she is. Honestly, every time we talk, I’m laughing, so much. SO MUCH WOW. She is well-versed in Simpsons quotes which is just…..amazing, truly (maybe my favorite thing about her tbh). She’s so smart too, so so smart. Did you know that there are lakes in Australia? She’s the only reason I know how to make gifs. She literally sat on her computer one morning (night for me) and we sent screenshots back and forth, for several hours, so I could figure out how to use photoshop. Trust me…I know I’m frustrating, but Pheebs is always there. I’m not really sure why she chooses to talk to me on a daily basis, but I can tell you that she’s made my life better just by being around. The nights I can’t sleep, it’s nice to be able to talk to her, to send super up close photos of Harry’s face to her, or to go back and forth with emojis that don’t transfer well because she has an android (why)…..It’s a strawberry 🍓 Pb, not a tomato 🍅. I honestly could go on and on about how hilarious she is, and her taste in music, and her cat’s, and her snaps, and her passion for babies, and animals, and bananas, and oats etc. etc. But I think I’ll leave it with a simple thank you.

Thank you Pheebs, my 6 foot goddess! You’re 10% peanut butter, 90% sarcasm and (let me be lame) 100% wonderful. Happy Birthday. I hope you have a good day because you truly deserve it. Love ya ♥️

i use the bumble & bumble hair dressers invisible oil shampoo and conditioner -im trying to find a BDS safe alternative but I haven’t yet. idk what to do tbh I’m trying rly hard to be more ethical about my consumption but it kinda gives me anxiety to think about it bc there isn’t really any complete unethical consumption under capitalism??

Branching out a bit from makeup/skin. Your hair is soooo pretty! What products do you use?

You have no idea how much I appreciate that.

My hair is bleached and color treated as fuck because I’m rocking the granny hair right now.

I only wash my hair two times a week. I use AG’s
sterling silver shampoo and conditioner, and then the second time I wash, I use the Pravana Purple Toning Mask.

Leave in products are as follows and in order:

1. It’s a perfect 10- miracle leave in for blondes.
2. Living Proof Restore serum
3. Oribe Super Moisturizing Cream
4. Kèrastase - Fibre Architecte
5. Kèrastase - elixir ultime

In between shampoos I use the fuck outta some Batiste dry shampoo.

I heat style MAYBE once a week, if that. I also use Verb’s Ghost Oil to prevent flyaways and to detangle my ends when they inevitably get snarly

(6/15) Character Appreciation Series

Kiyoshi Teppei, also known as Iron Heart and one of the Uncrowned Kings, is extremely easygoing and functions are both the center and point guard of Seiren.

He originally disliked his body because of his size and strength, but then grew comfortable with it because of basketball. His team was crushed by the Generation of Miracles, leaving him demoralized, partially because of Murasakibara.

He is known to be kind and level-headed the majority of time, which points to his family upbringing. He was raised by his grandparents and doesn’t live with his parents. Although it’s unknown why, it seems to have a significant impact on him.

Kiyoshi entered the basketball club in Seiren and met Hyuuga in the hallways. Without Hyuuga on the team, there were only four people on the team including himself. Kiyoshi and Hyuuga end up playing a one-on-one game, in which Kiyoshi beats Hyuuga and convinced him not to quit basketball. Because of this, he is known as the founder of the team as he confronted Hyuuga into joining, making the total five.

Kiyoshi and Hyuuga have an odd relationship. Even though they are a strong tag-team, Hyuuga doesn’t hide the fact that he apparently dislikes him for being a “basketball freak” and “acting stupid” and having ulterior motives. Kiyoshi, on the other hand, is friendly to Hyuuga and nominates him as the captain. Even though they still argue from time to time, they’re both grateful for each other (Kiyoshi for Hyuuga supporting him after his injury).

Kiyoshi’s relationship with Riko is important too. Even though they used to date and have broken up, they are still close friends. Kiyoshi is the one who asked Riko (multiple times) to coach the newly formed Seiren basketball team.

It is revealed some time into the series that Riko frequently texts Kiyoshi while he’s in the hospital, updating him about Seiren’s victories. She was worried for him during the Kirisaki Daichi match, and even says that she would gladly let him hate her when Kiyoshi declared he would if she subbed him out.

Kiyoshi doesn’t show up in the series until after Seiren loses in the Interhigh. He meets Kuroko while the latter is training, and encourages him and his position. He doesn’t hesitate to bet his ace position on a one-on-one game with Kagami, showing Kiyoshi’s belief of a true team.

Kiyoshi doesn’t care whether he has the position or not, but simply if a younger player would make for a better addition to the team. He’s selfless in regards to the team, and that really shines from the first time we meet him. He chooses to come back to the team for a year in order to look over the team and play with them instead of getting the surgery his knee requires.

His abilities are Vice Claw and Right of Postponement. With his excellent physical abilities and balance as a player, he plays both center and point guard, serving as a sort of supervisor under the basket. He is an extremely strong center to begin with, making him an Uncrowned King, but obviously loses to Murasakibara from the Generation of Miracles in overall strength.

His Right of Postponement developed from his giant hands, allowing him to have easier possession of the ball by holding it by one hand, and therefore having more options by being able to quickly change direction with his hands. Vice Claw also arose from his abnormally large hands, allowing him to recover the ball quickly and grab the ball out of the air with one hand. This is what makes Kiyoshi such a fearsome opponent–his ability to rebound is amazing.

During the preliminaries of the Winter Cup, Kiyoshi encounters the same person who put him in the hospital: Hanamiya Makoto.

The game quickly turns dirty while Seiren remains frustrated, mostly because it is the game against Kirisaki Daichi. Seiren is elbowed, hit, and practically abused on the court. Kiyoshi takes most of the brutality as the center while he jumps for the rebound.

Hanamiya signals to his teammates to reinjure Kiyoshi, who is then tripped. Another Kirisaki Daichi player falls on top of him and slams their elbow into his forehead.

Kiyoshi, despite the brutality of the game and mental trauma he has from Hanamiya, rises above the pain and that he would protect his teammates.

This is really important; Kiyoshi is essentially inviting Hanamiya to hurt him again so the team can play. The selflessness for his team is almost peerless. He lost a year in the hospital after protecting the team, and he’s willing to go through the pain again for Seiren.

Seiren ends up beating Kirisaki Daichi by 7 points. After the game, he says he looks forward to competing against Hanamiya again, possibly to irritate Hanamiya.

He’s also integral to the Touou game. Without his triple-team with Kuroko and Kagami, the game would have been impossible to win. Seiren advances and wins against both Nakamiya South and Kigomo North to face Yosen.

Kiyoshi’s personal opponent in the game is Murasakibara. He had played against the Yosen center before, and been crushed by the collective Generation of Miracles. Murasakibara tells Kiyoshi that he’ll be crushed.

For the beginning of the game, Kiyoshi functions well as the center when he’s on offense. Because Murasakibara isn’t there, he can use Vice Claw to beat Liu and Okamura for the rebound.

During the game, he doesn’t hesitate to advise Kagami to lower his hips while defending against Okamura. This shows the regard he has for the team; he concentrates on his teammates along with the game.

During the second half, he annoys Murasakibara by asking him if basketball was fun. Kiyoshi switches between point guard and center during offense to make Murasakibara jump and allow for Seiren to regroup while playing, as they are a fast and agile team.

Kiyoshi’s slyness makes a pretty big appearance during the game with Yosen. Aomine even comments that Kiyoshi is evil to have such a kind look on his face as he jabs at Murasakibara mentally and manipulates him.

Even though Kiyoshi is at his limit, he doesn’t hesitate to keep going for the team. Kiyoshi had finally annoyed Murasakibara enough to the point that he participates on offense, forcing Kiyoshi to make faster plays to rack up points. Meanwhile, he reflects on how Murasakibara previously destroyed his morale when he played against Teiko in Junior High.

Although Seiren is struggling for every point, Kiyoshi still has faith in his teammates and especially for Kuroko, which ends up motivating the underclassmen. He ends up crying during the break because he has so much faith in the team and they made him feel at ease. His spirit only temporarily wavers against Murasakibara.

He does everything in his power to support Seiren and undergoes the pain of Riko’s massage to bounce back to a playing state with a minute remaining in the game. He never ends up truly beating Murasakibara, but does point out that he can be beaten again and again and that he won’t stop picking himself up.

Kiyoshi is the main reason Murasakibara reveals his love for basketball, allowing him to enter the zone and care for sport.

Kiyoshi Teppei’s love and sacrifices for his team are practically unparalleled. The giant Iron Heart always motivates his teammates while playing to his fullest ability. He’s the reason the Seiren basketball team exists to begin with, and in a way, he’s their psychological and emotional center.

But that doesn’t mean he’s not fierce. As an Uncrowned King, he’s one of the most powerful players on the court and he can be mentally manipulative. Kiyoshi Teppei is a loveable character; he makes his team laugh along with the audience. He cares for his teammates. He doesn’t hesitate to put himself on the line for Seiren. He’s strong, he’s brave, and he’s the Iron Heart.

Fun fact….

he’s terrified of rats.

(Because I am channeling my grrrr into CS feels.)

They don’t leave the house for two whole days. By some miracle, Storybrooke manages to leave its sheriff and savior alone long enough to allow her the relaxation. (Killian wagers that the prince and princess are behind silence of Emma’s talking phone, for which he will have to thank them profusely when he next sees them. He will not, however, mention to either of them exactly what he and their daughter have done with some of that time.)

On the third day, it’s not Storybrooke duty that calls but semi-parental duty: Henry sends Killian a little word message asking to go for a quick sail on the Jolly. A grin tugs at Killian’s lips. It’s an absolutely beautiful morning and a sail with the lad sounds lovely.

He’s surprised, then, when Emma vehemently says, “No.”

“Love, we’re just going for a sail around the harbor.”

She’s even more of an open book to him now than she was when they first met, and he can see the fear swimming in her eyes. He softens. “Emma, you’re not going to lose me again.”

“Three times, Killian,” she says softly. “Four if you count Author World. I just …”

He pulls her into a hug. She melts into his embrace and holds on tight. “We have to go out and face the world sometime, love. I mean, I have no complaints about the time we spent christening the various rooms in this house” – he feels her chuckle – “but our future is beyond these walls as well.”

“I know,” she whispers.

She’s still clinging, though Killian can’t blame her. After all they’ve been through, he’d be more surprised if she wasn’t. But staying in the house isn’t the answer. “Why don’t you come with us?” Killian offers. “The lad and I will sail to a nice, quiet spot and the three of us can relax for a little while.”

That gets her to pull away and look up at him, a hesitant smile on her face. “You’re sure? I know the captain and first mate thing is your thing with Henry. I just don’t want to intrude.“

“You could never intrude, love,” Killian assures her before pressing a kiss to her forehead. “So. What say you?”

She glances to the window, where the bright sunshine is spilling into the room and making patterns on the hardwood floor. “I guess we’re going sailing.”

Killian grins. And his newly restarted heart skips more than a couple beats when she wraps her arms around him and whispers, “And after we come back to port and take Henry home, I believe there’s a few rooms on the Jolly we could christen, too.”
