Just finished up this logo for my rocking buddies in the Maryland/D.C based band Myopic. You can check out their demo here . Pure, thick and ferocious headbanging tunes! These guys are the real deal, go give them some love!
Man, today was all about mutha-fuckin-comix! Went downtown to print off some more copies of A.P.I.S and popped into The Beguiling to snag their last copy of Orc Stain! Day well spent methinks, now I’ve gotta fold and staple these mofos together in time for TCAF next weekend. WORK WORK WORK.
GOJIRAAAAAAA! Christened a new sketchbook with some Godzilla doodles. I’m back in Brussels visiting family and jetlagged all to hell. Woke up at 6:30 morning and couldn’t get back to sleep, so I sat down and read my way through Brandon Graham’s art blog . I always love reading his posts, dude’s so passionate about what he does and I love the stuff that he shares. It makes me want to hit the drawing board, as well as think about what excites me the most about drawing.
When you’re in the thick of classes the whole experience can get pretty mechanical, so I’m taking the summer to try to take life a bit slower. I’ve been revisiting stuff that I used to love to draw as a kid, stuff like Godzilla movies. It’s always nice to just sit down and draw without any deadlines or things looming overhead.Taking it slow is a nice change of pace, I find that during the school year I have to draw quickly and hurried, especially if it’s stuff that has nothing to do with assignments. It’s refreshing to take it a notch back and just take your time with a drawing, no pressure!
Other than that, I think the stuff that keeps me pushing myself the most is seeing the stuff my buddies are working on, I’m fortunate to be surrounded with such talented peeps, it keeps you on your toes.
Anyway, enough rambling. Gonna go knock out some more drawings.
