Yes, you love Christine, I know, you love Christine so much, she’s the light of your life, you love her so much, you just love Christine, I KNOW, you love Christine, you fucking love her ok I know, I get it, YOU LOVE CHRISTINE, I GET IT, FOR FUCK’S SAKE
OK SO IMAGINE GUSTAVE BRINGS HOME A PERSIAN CAT AND ERIK GETS SO NOSTALGIC AND AT FIRST WHEN GUSTAVE ASKS IF THEY CAN KEEP IT HE SAYS NO BUT THEN GUSTAVE GIVES HIM PUPPY EYES AND HES LIKE OH FINE WHATEVER
I feel like LND would’ve worked for me if ALW had written Erik as vulnerable and empathetic instead of him continuing to be a manipulative monster even though everything up to that point SHOULD be pointing him in the exact opposite direction.
Like if right after Erik met Gustave Christine took him to the side and said “hey he’s yours surprise!” and Erik reacted in a gentle emotional way like in the Australian production when he finds out. No threat of murder whatsoever. Just compassion and understanding. Because that’s, yknow, how it would logically go if it were logically following the first one.
What happened to Meg’s character was also obviously a disaster but one thing at a time.
