The Canadian show Bomb Girls was somewhat of a one hit wonder, but the fashion is of the 1940’s is an eternal classic. Even with the constraints of rationing, the women of the era still managed to remain feminine and glamourous.
#bombgirls continues to be one of the most personally & professionally fulfilling experiences of my lil ol’ lifetime. It was important to me because of the instant & deep friendships that were forged but most importantly that we were working together to tell stories about women, in this case the unsung heroes of WWII. The number of television shows/films ABOUT women is STILL staggeringly low compared to the shows about & featuring men. Gender inequality portrayed on screen sends a message to young girls and women that we are secondary and I for one am sick of it. The folks who created this beautiful show fought to show that women matter and deserve to be represented. Be a part of the steady move towards EQUALITY. Let your voice be heard. #internationalwomensday #bombgirls #throwbacktuesday #breaktherules #besties
