Sighing, Stiles reaches for Derek’s big hands, cradled in his broad lap, his skin lighting up even more at Derek’s touch. He takes a deep breath and closes his eyes, preparing himself to look for Derek’s soulmate. Whoever you are, he thinks, you better be worth him.

Mistletoe Never Lies by  CarolineLahey | 19.2K

Derek Hale loves his family, he really does. He just wishes they weren’t so determined to set him up. When he finally blurts out that he has a boyfriend, and quickly gives his mother the name of the barista at his local coffee shop as his “boyfriend”, he figures that buys him a little peace.
He probably should have been paying attention to the part of the conversation where he agreed to bring Stiles home for Christmas to meet the family.

I Feel We’re Close Enough by  samann98 | 55.5K

The one in which Derek and Stiles are childhood friends, their freshman year of high school Derek makes the craziest suggestion ever, and four years later Stiles decides to take him up on it.

“God, will you just stop thinking? There’s no one home.” He says, grins when Derek nods and goes back to kissing him, using those amazing lips to drive Stiles crazy and –

“I think you should rethink that statement.”

Derek jumps, lets go of Stiles quickly before starting to look around for his jacket, the tip of his ears turning pink. Stiles refrains himself from reaching out and petting Derek’s adorable face, and instead proceeds to give his mom a guilty smile.

“I need you to have sex with Derek Hale like yesterday,” Lydia says, slamming her bag down on the table with more force than strictly necessary, mouth a tight line of displeasure. Stiles chokes on his boxed apple juice, sputtering, limbs flailing.

“Say it louder,” Stiles hisses, leaning forward so they can talk in low tones. “I don’t think they heard you in the back.”

One of my fav headcanons for Teen Wolf is that the Hale Pack or/and especially Derek knew Stiles’ mom.

Maybe she worked in a book shop/the library and early on Derek was a kid that liked to read a lot. And she suggested a lot of books to him that he really liked. And he was really upset to have lost all his books in the fire, especially because half of them were from her.

Or she was a teacher at his kindergarten/school and always allowed them more snacks or more fun time than she should. She was strict when the time called for it and the next she was like a mom to them all.

Maybe she did have a Spark like Stiles and used to help/work with the Hale Pack. And when a current “problem” was dealt with she’d always stick around to hang out with them.

And Derek probably got used to her talking non-stop about her little baby boy/son that would one day mean the world to someone. And he probably thought that anyone that would only be loved half as much as this woman loves her kid, would surely be blessed and happy.

We deserved at least 10 more minutes of 6x20. We deserved some cute moments shared by original characters that were here from the beginning. We deserved one last McMartinski moment. We deserved to see Stydia acting as a couple. Like seriously, their love ripped open a hole in the fabric of space and time in 6a but they barely talked or touched in 6b. We deserved one last Sciles moment – one last moment of them being goofy best friends and showing how much they care about each other and how much they missed each other while Stiles was away and how proud they are of each other because they have been through so much and they are still alive. We deserved to see one last scene shared by parents and their kids. A scene that shows how proud mama McCall is of her son. How proud she is because Scott never ran and he was always there to help. How proud she is because he isn’t selfish and he puts the needs and life of others before his needs. They could have shown sheriff Stilinski and Stiles hugging or something to show how much they missed each other and how proud sheriff is that Stiles came to fight and help and how glad Stiles was that his dad never turned his back to the supernatural. They could have even shown a moment between Lydia and her mom.

6x20 was a good season finale but it kinda disappointed as a series finale.

Teen Wolf AU  → Mama Stilinski

Mama Stilinski has not yet succumbed to her illness when Scott is bitten. As her health improves, Stiles stands at his best friend’s side while he navigates peril and the world of the supernatural. After a particularly difficult night caught in the middle of Scott and Allison, the Argents, and Derek’s pack, Stiles goes to his mom for reassurance.

Stiles clambers through his bedroom window and somersaults gracelessly onto the floor–and, ow, the bag of dog bowls he bought to antagonize Derek and his pack, how’s that for karma. When he manages to twist his spine back into place, he realizes his door is open. Flickering light from his parents’ room echoes in eerily from the hallway, and once he drags himself up off the floor, he follows it.

His dad isn’t home from the station yet, or he would have put out the fireplace; the sheriff always yells at his mom for falling asleep with it lit. Stiles understands why she sucks at listening, though. The snap of the wood and blanketing warmth make it easy to just close your eyes and drift.

Treading as quietly as he can, Stiles sneaks over to the side of the bed nearest to the fire. His dad will give both him and mom judgmental looks in the morning for being careless, but if he tries to say anything, it might be worth it to offer bacon as a peace offering. In the end, exhaustion wins out over fire safety, and Stiles drops flat on his back with an appreciative groan.

Too late he remembers that his mother is sleeping and when he pops his head up over the edge of the bed to check, she’s wide awake and shaking her head at him fondly.

He laughs and slides back down to the floor, his silence his apology.

“It’s been two years since I lost her. I mean, it’s not that it was unexpected or anything. We had been given our three months notice, which I suppose is a great deal more than many. And we all knew it was coming long before then.

I still come here and imagine that this is the spot where all of my lost memories of her - and all of the memories we never had the chance to make - are washed up.

I tell myself if that were true, and I waited long enough, a tiny figure would appear on the horizon across the field she used to take me to. And gradually it would get larger until I’d see that it was her.

She’d wave. And maybe call me in to get washed up and ready for dinner.

I don’t let the fantasy go beyond that. I can’t let it.

I remind myself that I was lucky to have had any time with her at all. And I remind myself that maybe none of us really understand what we’ve lived through, or feel we’ve had enough time.”
