It’s obvious to me that Joe is not as self-confident and commanding as he wants people to believe. IMO, his arrogance and attitude are an attempt to hide his own insecurities and troubles. This moment (episode 2 sneak peek), when Cameron slams the door in his face - after he failed to impress her - is so revealing. It’s there, written all over his face: anxiety, fear from another failure, annoyance…like his face mask of coolness and self-assuredness decomposed and went to hell. Kudos for fine and subtle acting, Mr. Pace.
