‘Look down, look down, don’t look at anyone, keep going’. You uttered these words mentally to yourself as you skirted through the alley’s of Small Heath, trying to be both swift and stealthy. You kept moving, eyes barely lifting above the cobblestone streets, chin never letting up, remaining as inconspicuous as possible. ‘They could be anywhere’. A voice screamed inside your head, urging you to go faster, as fast as possible without drawing attention to yourself. You flashed back to the moment that stirred up this internal panic.
