Rio Wendell, a crew chief with the 127th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Michigan Air National Guard, services an A-10 Thunderbolt II from the 442nd Fighter Wing, Whiteman Air Force Base, Mississippi, on Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal. Lajes Field enables the expeditionary movement of warfighters, warplanes and global communications to Combatant Commanders and supporting Joint, Coalition, and NATO operations as part of U.S. and Allied Air Expeditionary Forces.
