Small town country boy Blake Shelton left Oklahoma for the big city of glitz and glamour in hopes to land it big and become a star. He soon discovers life as an inspiring actor isn’t all that its cracked out to be. Audition after audition, after endless auditions Blake is ready to throw in the towel and head back to his home state until he meets fellow struggling actor Adam Levine. A friendship like no other is born, “I just know we’re going to make it some day. I feel it in my soul. You just gotta have faith, Shelton,” running lines and selecting auditions with Adam renews Blake’s hopes and dreams. Several failed attempts later their luck turns up when they receive callbacks for a new sitcom.
“Do you think it’s going to be weird? Working together?”
“Are you kidding me? Working with my best friend, what more could I ask for? And to top it off. Country meets City, two polar opposites living in the same apartment? This is pure gold, we were literally made for this. It’s fucking perfect man.”
“Yeah, but I’ll have to see your ugly mug every day.”
“Blake, please, you know you’re just worried that you’ll end up falling in love with me. All those long hours and close quarters, it’s inevitable, like some true Hollywood behind the scenes love affair shit.”
“Okay, I really doubt that’s going to happen.”
Years later when their hit series comes to an end after a successful ten season run Blake is more than happy to say he owes some of his success to his co-star and love of his life, “But for the record he kissed me first.”
“Oh come on. I did it so you could get your head outta your ass. I knew you always had it bad for me, jackass.”
